You are right and we slipped into an arrogant complacency. It didn't happen overnight. I coined the phrase some years ago 'sleepwalking' to relegation and many people (including the Sunday Times), are now using the same phrase.
I there are not relegation clauses it is proof of the arrogance of those at the top thinking they would not be needed.
People took our Premier status for granted. We ****ed it away in 2005 and now again.
Rationally I agree. But, in football form does not always fit the outcome. We need a massive amount of luck and anything, including the scrappiest win will do.
However much I repeated the warnings, people preferred to bury their heads in the sand. Now people are singing the same tune, years later and retrospectively.
Yes, it is hard to take. Even harder is the fact that our position could have easily been avoided and those that run the club need to face up to it, because they are largely to blame.
