That they are 'used to losing' is a problem in itself. Football is a 'confidence' game. Saints is very fragile, hence why they tend to sit back and protect leads instead of killing off the opposition aka Brighton. Or as yesterday give away a goal and then another soon after. To some extent Hughes was right, we need a win and a get a bit of luck. Not saying that will propel us to the top 6, but it will help us avoid relegation.

We have tried replacing managers and it hasn't worked. Hughes is doing his best with a bloated squad full of ordinary players. We may survive, but it will be close. I just think we have to get behind Hughes and the team and hope for the best.

I don't blame Hughes. It is the fault of the Board and the rot started years ago as I called at the time.

TBH, I really think the problem is bigger than just blaming the manager. We have been buying players as if we are preparing for the Championship. You can't run a Rolls Royce with A Ford Fiesta engine.

Hey, that's my line... This mess has not happened overnight and you cannot simply blame the manager. The signs of our decline, although subtle, were there two or three years ago. Our decline has been gradual but if not stopped now could pick up speed and end very dramatically.

I agree. The result will be a very big indicator of what we can expect for the rest of the season. Wolves deserve the respect people are giving them, but we must be professional and try and get a result. There are players with experience in the Saints team, they need to use that to good effect today.

The 'fight to stay up' can be enthralling. As long as it is a fight and not a long surrender.

This is a much more important game than Liverpool as it is a game in which we have probably targeted to pick up points. Players should know how important it is. Lose this one and we are in big trouble.

If we survive, then we will have had another successful season. I told you years ago, that is the sum ambition of the board. Always has been.
