Liverpool goal was a let down given our overall dominance, worrying that Liverpool seem to have so much time when they do manage to get forward.

The problem with our attack is that our top goalscorer is too easily forced deep or wide to get the ball and as a result spends too much time with his back to goal. All our other attacking players have some combination of poor finishing & poor delivery and often spend too much time faffing about with the ball around the edge of the area allowing opposition defences to organise themselves. If we do stay up, our attacking options are going to need a serious review if we genuinely want to push further up the table next season.

It's just frustrating. The have forced a couple of decent saves you are right, but its just frustrating that so often the final ball is so poor, just feel we aren't creating the number of chances we ought to be given the possession we have had in recent games.

Poor first half, all possession with no threat just like last week. If Norwich had a player with a bit of pace up front like QPR we'd probably be losing this right now.

The team as a whole didn't turn up today. Disappointing that all 4 goals were a product of individual errors that were made under little/no pressure. Lallana Rodriguez Cork Fox Shaw Clyne Davis All rubbish today.

Can't really blame the ref for our poor performance, he could have given us a bit more but the scoreline is no more than we deserve at the moment.

A few of our players looking a bit lightweight today. Clyne & Rodriguez in particular are getting brushed aside far too easily. Ultimately we were the architects of our own downfall on both occasions though. First Cork with that awful pass under minimal pressure and secondly Shaw jumping with Gutierrez when Hooiveld should have gone for it. 45 minutes left but it doesn't look good at the moment. At least we have some decent options on the bench today.

Lambert all day for me. Does much more than simply score goals as evidenced by the chances created. If Villa can't win this one, they've had it IMO. WHU are one of the worst away sides in the league and in a bad run of form. Kind of game you have to win when you're fighting relegation.

Excellent performance, outplayed them from whistle to whistle. Cork, Morgan, Davis & Yoshida were unbelieveable.

This referee is going to screw us over second half, I can see it. Brilliant first half, what Davis was thinking with that corner I don't know.

There were a few quotes from RL in the Sun's match report for the game talking about his disappointment at not getting a call up, and he says nobody from the England set up has contacted him and nobody is watching him.

Ratings Boruc - 6 - Good stop first half, not much he could have done with the goals. Otherwise he had little to do. Clyne - 5 - Didn't get forward and let Wigan in behind too often Jos - 6 - Did most things OK, let the striker get behind him in the first half for the shot that Boruc saved though. I wish he wouldn't hoof it so often Yoshida - 4 - Worst he's played for quite some time, at fault for first goal. Shaw - 8 - Good going forward, nothing got by him in open play Cork - 7 - Lots of energy, put in some good tackles and made more of an attempt to get forward than normal, did alright at RB too Morgan - 8 - Passed well, broke up play often and made a superb run & finish for the goal Puncheon - 5 - Poor, final ball is shocking, slightly better when he switched to the left Ramirez - 4 - one good pass, one shocking miss otherwise it was a job to tell he was on the pitch Rodriguez - 8 - best he's played for us, good run and pass for the second goal, made some great runs and worked hard as always. Looks like he's starting to improve as a wide player. Lambert - 9 -Created chances & got a good goal. Wigan's CBs didn't know what to do with him for the majority of the game. Subs: Lallana - 7 -More effort than Ramirez & Puncheon, looked more dangerous with him on the pitch. Don't know why he left the far post for their equaliser though Davis - 8 - Energetic, always made himself available for a pass. We were able to keep the pressure on a lot better with him on pitch as he was winning a lot of second balls. JWP - 6 - didn't have much time to do anything

Much better second half, Davis and Lallana again made a big difference however defensively not good enough in the end, don't know what they were doing for that second. Two points flushed down the ****ter

Our final ball is so bad, the only player capable of putting in a good ball is the man who should be on the end of them. Still, if we keep the pressure on we really should score at least one. Punch has been wasteful and Ramirez, bar the miss and that pass near the end of the half has been anonymous. Also, why is Clyne so reluctant to get forward?

Yeah it made no sense as he said the teams he was covering had finished up for the day.
