Michu should be on the main list. Any number of good u-23s would have deserved the nominations over Welbeck and Wilshere. Here's just a few; Shaw Rafael Weimann Schneiderlin Ben Davies Nastasic etc. A player with only 1 goal and a player who's spent half the season injured being nominated is pretty bad.
-
Wages would be very high for a player who would only offer cover for Cork & Schneiderlin. Getting a player to add some cover & competition for them isn't the worst idea in the world though. At the moment if either gets injured or suspended, we lack anyone who could do a good job in their position. DM isn't Davis' game and JWP strikes me as a similar type of CM to Davis, with the potential to become a much better player than him.

If only Rodriguez hadn't been ill in the week, West Ham struggled to deal with him when he came on.

OK first half...West Ham making this one ugly, Fox and Morgan have to be careful second half as the ref seems to be quick to his book. Fox has done OK, one moment against Vaz Te where he got done but that aside West Ham haven't threatened at all and we haven't left ourselves vulnerable on the counter.
-
We all know Fox's limitations as a player, but until the summer when hopefully someone better is brought in to offer up competition for Shaw, he's the best we have. Lallana will have to appreciate he needs more protection than Shaw and do some defensive work when West Ham have the ball.

I still think we need at least one, if not two top CBs first and foremost. Jos/Yoshida/Fonte have improved, but they can still be panicky and their clearances/distribution can be poor. Would like another AM who could offer some pace, a good cross and get into double figures with goals. At the moment we can dominate possession & pin them back but lack the ruthlessness needed to hope for anything better than mid-table. As For cover we need a proper RB & LB to offer competition for Clyne & Shaw. Would also like to see another CM to give Cork/Morgan competition & Would like cover for RL, who can hold it up, bring others into play and link up with as I feel at the moment that burden would fall on Rodriguez and that isn't where his strengths lie.

http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2012-2013/custom-table In our last 22 games we have we've managed just 1 less point than Everton, 1 more than Chelsea (though they should win tomorrow).

Michu scores for Swansea

Good win, decent performance against a bad side. Reading tried to play us at our own game but when it came down to it we had more quality. Adkins is going to have to renovate their squad if they want to get promoted next season. Rodriguez MOtM

The Reading scapegoat is on the pitch

I appreciate that Ramirez will need time to see the best from him, but he is frustrating to watch right now. It seems like he can get himself into good positions, but often tries to do that little bit too much on his own.
-
Not a brilliant first half, didn't start playing until we got the opener. Rodriguez has been our best player again so far, Ramirez & Hooiveld have also stood out but for the wrong reasons. Reading have pressed well so far and we still need to be careful second half.
-
Weird timing, but given Wigan, Villa & ourselves are picking up points there is a good chance O'Neill would have taken them down given their form at the moment and tough run in. Edit: if they really do appoint an assistant for the rest of the season, they are in deep ****.
-
Great win, held on well second half. Seem to be hitting some form at exactly the right time.
-
All over them so far, but need to be careful second half as Chelsea are bound to throw Hazard & Ba on.

Ramirez to Arsenal? (discussion from Life's A Pitch)
MOSaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I'd worry more about losing Shaw, Schneiderlin & Clyne here to be honest. Ramirez may well be adjusting to the PL style and will show what he's capable of next season, but going by what he's shown so far I don't think he's been impressive enough to be thinking of moving on to bigger clubs. -
Saints make 8 million bid for Athletico's Adrian Lopez

Poor goalscoring record however he is often shoved out on to the wing when he plays for Atletico. -

Great performance, looking good for survival now 2 wins from 8 should be enough IMO. Bring on Chelsea.
