  1. Thoroughly enjoyed today, from 20 minutes onwards we hammered one of the better teams in the league. We did everything we had to after conceding. Although i do wish we'd stop going a goal down each week. It was always guna be an open game and guaranteed goals, but i didnt think it would be as one sided as it was. Until they scored we should have been 2-0 up, and then when they scored i thought it was guna be one of those days again, bu fair play we responded really well and going in at 2-1 was perhaps flattering to them! After that it was just a class performance. Davis- Kicking a bit suspect at times, didn have too much to do - 6 Butterfield - Was okay, Richardson handled their winger better though - 6 Fonte - Very solid, mopped up what Jaidi didnt - 8 Jaidi - An beast today, espescially second half. Shaky at the start though - 8 - MOM Harding - Decent enough, fairly solid - 7 Oxo - What a quality player, hope he stays with us for a while - 8 Hammond - Decent game, drove at them a few times and got around the pich well - 7 Schneiderlin - Fairly quiet game for him - 6 Lallana - Such a classy player, never miscontrolls it, flicks, tricks, and always looks like making something happen - 8 Guly - Besides finishing, i thought he was really lively. Made good runs and linked up well - 7 Lambert - Glimpses of what he can be like. Very much a goal of a player who has more confidence, much sharper today - 7 Subs: Chaplow - Right substitution, added more energy and a really nice finish too - 7 Richardson - Handled their winger really well, kept him quiet - 7 Dickson - n/a - Wasnt really on very long Overall, very good performance. Can we PLEASE go on a run now.
  2. Jaidi. Was an absoloute TANK in the second half, dont think Fonte really had to do anything with him around
  3. Any idea of attendance so far ?
  4. Penalty save V Brighton, brilliant save last kick of the game against Sheff Wed last kick of the game, brilliant save V Oldham last kick of the game. Just 3 off the very top of my head this season. He's saved us plenty of points this season already and has been extremely loyal to Saints. He fluffed up in a game where no-one really turned up, yes it was the all important first goal etc but I am in no rush to have a go at Kelv. Think we're lucky to have him to be honest !
  5. Anyone but a boring Championship club or another League one team and I would be happy.
  6. Before the game I said I would only be happy with a win, anything else would be a dissapointment. Now, im half and half. Not happy, but not overly dissapointed. Sounded like we ran out of ideas but we definately had chances early on.. got a few easy fixtures now so i reckon we'll get right back in the thick of it. The table is so close at the moment that wether were 9th or 2nd, theres barely anything in it. Once a few sides, hopefully us being one of them, start putting a run together, thats when we can start panicking or not. Just because we havnt been in the top 2 doesnt mean we wont be.. plenty of sides have hung in there and then nicked it at the end of the season so im sure we can do that too. Think of millwall last year.
  7. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3209856/Jack-Whitehall-and-Kelly-Brook-leave-Cosmo-Awards-together.html That should rub salt into the wounds Jack Whitehall haters and Kelly Brooke lovers (if theres any truth to it)
  8. Spot on. I'm pretty sure Hammond was feeling the pressure after a few lame performances and he really turned it around with some great performances. As for Harding, seems very out of the blue. Every time I've seen him he has played really well. I wouldn't swap him for any left back in the league.
  9. YESSS! Get in lallana!
  10. Thank fook for that!! Cheers Rickie!
  11. Poor old Chaplow probably thought he was going to come back here and see some of his old mates.. don't think there is anyone left from he was last here ?!
  12. Bit of a frustrating result last night, and yes the league table doesn't look great reading but there is so long to go. We are turning it around now I feel, not playing brilliantly and still picking up points. If you said to me before the Sheff Wed game that we'd get 4 points from Sheff Wed and Yoevil away, I would definately have taken it.
  13. Just watched the extended highlights on BBC website... and they still don't show the save at the end !
  14. Just got back from the game, long old trip from Brighton to Sheffield but absoloutely worth every minute. Was my first time at Hillsborough and whilst I really liked the stadium, the Wednesday fans were god awful. I thought theyd provide a good atmosphere but they were really terrible. However, I thought the Saints end was really good, was a cracking atmohsphere in the west stand ! Going into the game, I didn't see us getting much. I predicted either a bore draw or us losing comfortably and one thing I definately didn't expect was us going to Hillsborough and playing like we were the home team ! We looked really good at times. I can definately see the style changing to Adkins' way. Much less hoofball to Lambert and when there was, at least there was someone running off him. We defended in a very disciplined way too. Ratings: Davis - Cor that was one hell of a save at the end, I already had my head in my hands when I saw that going to the bottom corner. A couple of other good saves too, a late saviour and did everything that was required brilliantly - 8. Butterfield - One brilliant stop after Harding cleared off the line (I think it was him who launched himself). Solid. Jaidi - Looked so shaky first half but was a tank in the second - 8. Seabourne - Looked decent today - 7. Harding - Decent performance, didn't let much go past him and always looks good defensively - 7. Chamberlain - 8/10 for his threat, 6/10 for end product. A real player in the making. For a winger he joins the attack in the middle and makes clever runs. also tracks back nicely too - 7. Hammond - I actually thought he was fantastic today, was really happy to see him play so well. Also loved his reaction at the end, he looked even happier than us when we won! - 8 Spider - Same for Hammond really, thought him and Hammond controlled it in the middle. - 7 Puncheon - Looks like he lacks confidence. He still looks a good player though with some clever balls. He'll come good I have no worries about that. - 6 Barnard - Never stopped running and fully deserved his goal (which I dont really know how it went in, didnt see!). Was a real livewire. Well played ! - 8 Lambert - Not at his best, but still has his uses. Used his strength well and brought people into play. Wasnt as good in the air as normal though. Still got the assist. Thought Adkins got his subs right so was happy about that. Lallana was a class above when he came on, even though we went more defensive, we looked just as good going forward. Lallana looks so natural and comfortable on the ball and has tricky feet. The only thing I was a litttlllee bit frustrated at was the amount of attacking runs from midfield but hey, right now I dont care ! Offensive runs
  15. I originally thought top spot, anything else would be a disappointment. Wasn't fussed at all about the JPT as would ideally like to just focus on the league. Would of course have liked a cheeky FA cup run, and not too fussed about the league cup either. As we are, we are still only 6 points off top with a game in hand so hardly a massive problem ! We can still run away with it there is so much time left, however we need to get it together as we are not looking the same team we were last year. We are out of the JPT so that will save us another 5-10 games over the season which I dont see as a problem at all to be honest.
  16. Took my missus along to the awful 0-0 at home against Oldham at the end of last season. Surely a 0-0 against Oldham would put anyone off another game (almost put me off) but sadly she is keen to go to another.
  17. God I hope you're wrong.
  18. I would be underwhelmed by either in all honesty.
  19. Seems a funny way of going about things. Anything in particular you want in this PM ?
  20. If anyone actually knows who it is, PM me.
  21. I'm sure you're right. Dunno what I'm banging on about really. I'll step aside with my head held high on this one.
  22. Sure, Zola probably knows what playing good football is about, but thats not the whole aspect of managing a team. I bet he doesn't know too much about the strengths and weaknesses of Rotherams players are and how they play. Seriously, I bet he doesn't watch much League one footy so he would not know much about the strengths and weaknesses of other teams.
  23. I am not against Foreign managers, but I would be slightly concerned with how much someone like Vialli or Zola know about League one football..
