  1. Time for Chaz to move on. I think many people seem to think of him as the guy who got 20 for QPR. That was what, 5 years ago? He's not that fit, he gets injured alot. He'll do well for a good Championship side, wish him well but he's on big money for a guy who is arguably behind Shane Long based on how Ralph likes to play.
  2. Couldn’t agree more. We’ve probably got rid of over 100k/week on players who won’t even remotely effect the first team. If we use that to bring in one or two (ideally a right back and a pacey attacker) then that’s great from my perspective.
  3. I'm relatively relaxed but I still can't help think we do need another attacker with pace. Without Ings/Redmond we would be significantly weaker going forward; we're incredibly reliant on those two.
  4. His new rules are absolute genius. You can't hurt a football in the pocket anymore - so have fines that actually benefit the club. Couldn't have more time for the man.
  5. I don't even care if the rumours are true or not. Just anything will do now.
  6. So that's percentages of Davis, Gabbi and Hoedt wages gone. Impressive, I thought we'd be lumbered with Hoedt for ages. Hopefully a spot for an incoming has free'd up now.
  7. Truly awful news - hope by some minor miracle he and the pilot are safe somehow.
  8. Hughes got rid of Boufal, played Hoedt repeatedly, dropped Romeu, Bednarak and we almost sold JWP. I will feel truly sorry for any fans who have to put up with Hughes as their manager in the future.
  9. Palace home - Draw Burnley away- Draw Cardiff home - Win Arsenal away - Lose Fulham home - Win I think as long as we beat Cardiff and Fulham that is the most important. Palace would be a big win and they are very unpredictable and will cause us problems, but it would be a great place to start this 'easier' run of games. If we assume 35 points is safety, then we only need 4 more wins potentially. We are now capable of getting possibly 3 of those in our next 5 games. We now have 10 days off, chance for Bertrand/Lemina to come back, and possibly a signing or two, a real chance to make the remainder of our season relatively stress free and put those grey clouds of the last 2 seasons behind us.
  10. Loving Saturdays again. Was horrible watching what felt like 24 hours of stoppage time, but the scars of Hughes and blowing leads are disappearing game by game. Any my thoughts of relegation are honestly all but gone for me. We probably need 4 or 5 wins out of 15 to be safe and we’ll get them. Cheers Ralph, and those who got him here!
  11. Worth noting as well, the last 3-4 weeks has seen all the teams around us/below us playing each other almost every week. Cardiff, Fulham, Hudds, Newcastle, Burnley, have basically all faced each other in the last month, and we're still ahead of enough of them. And we've had an injury/suspension hit squad. We've still got all of them to play again, and mostly at home. With our best players coming back in now too, we'll be fine.
  12. Will probably go back on loan to a random European side in the near future. I wanted to give this guy a chance but I can't see one thing he does well. Cannot believe the amount we paid for him based on what we've seen. Last night he was just so bad. Can't see him getting many more minutes now we're out of the cup.
  13. They're a strange team, if they turn up it'll be a very tough game, if they don't we could get 3 big points. Really want to put this home voodoo to bed n all. May see a few tired legs out there, but there are some coming in who will be nice and fresh to balance it out. Mccarthy Bednarak, Stephens, Vestergaard Valery, PEH, Romeu, Bertrand Redmond, Ings, Amrstrong
  14. Crap way to lose, having been 2 up in both legs. Really shouldn’t be giving away leads still but I have to say I’m not overly bothered. A huge majority of the players that started today won’t be featuring week in week out in the league & we were missing our top players (Ings, Hoijberg, Lemina, Yoshida, Bednerak). That’s the spine of our team right there. Then add into extra injuries and suspensions to people like Austin, Obafemi, Valery, and we end up with a team that’s pretty mushed together. Give it a couple of weeks and we’ll be playing a team unrecognisable to what we saw last night. Move on, we’ll be over this pretty quickly!
  15. Absolute mayhem in the away end that day, great memories!
  16. I may be wrong, but I think the reason we let it happen was that we insisted on it all up front and Liverpool gave in. Could be wrong though.
  17. I really can't understand anyone having any issue with Nige. I personally couldn't care less that we didn't win either leagues, the result is all the same, we got promoted. That was his job, and he succeeded. Yes we had a great squad but that's not always enough. He was manager of probably the most enjoyable time as a Saints fan in my lifetime and I will always have a soft spot for him. What a guy.
  18. Personally enjoy the info. Sometimes someone can have the right info, things change and then it looks like they were wrong. Any snippets, right or wrong, I enjoy seeing on here (or a PM). Keep them coming, it's the transfer window after all..
  19. It's not the worst idea in the world. We have Gunn who is ready to be #1. Forster is on a lot and perhaps we can't shift him. Mccarthy is a very good keeper, but perhaps disposable. To raise 10-15m and free his already improved contract to get in someone who can strengthen us elsewhere seems like a smart move. We don't need 3 first choice keepers. Perhaps Forster is happy to be #2 more than Mccarthy is? Considering he was #2 at Palace not that long ago, we'll probably make a good amount of profit on this.
  20. All the best to him, good player who was woefully misused overall. Gave us some great memories n all. Good start to the window though, getting people out is almost as difficult as it is getting good people in. Two senior salaries out the door and doesnt really effect the first team.
  21. Banged them in for me on FIFA. Based on that, no brainer. But in all seriousness, I'd be delighted if we pulled this one off. A real focal point in attack.
  22. He's on huge wages for a guy who isn't first choice. Wouldn't be too fussed to see him go in all honesty.
  23. My word we look toothless up top without Ings, and without Yoshida our back line looks weaker. Has to be addressed in this transfer window. With any luck Bertrand will be fit enough. Can't see us winning this if I'm honest. Gunn Bednarak, Stephens, Vestergaard Cedric, Romeu, Lemina, Bertrand Redmond, Austin, Armstrong
  24. I actually think Gabbi will go back to Italy no fuss and probably not make much of a loss. Hoedt still has 3.5 years left, Forster the same. Both on big money. They will certainly be a problem.
  25. The fee of £18m being touted around isn't a punt, would almost be our record signing. I fully expect that when we do sign someone, it will be a Ralph signing. But I think people need to go out first (Davis & Gabbi first, Hoedt and Forster too would be lovely..)
