  1. Some things are worth 'whinging' about. This is one of them.
  2. Can I just say, if anyone is still reading this thread, that over here in Aus I work for an ad agency on the A League account. We've just finished creating a new identity for the new Western Sydney team that will play in next season's league. My point is, that in creating this team from scratch, more than 1,000 fans attended seven fan forums and over 15,000 people completed an online survey to help define the spirit and identity of their football club. Of course, you can't have that level of involvement for a shirt change every season. But the fact is, some consultation would not have gone amiss. As someone said above: this kit does not look like or feel like Southampton Football Club. And for that reason alone, it's wrong. When we're going back to the Premier League after a 7 year absence, it's just plain stupid.
  3. And on this subject, I'll be doing the same as Moscow Saint, only I'll be coming from Sydney. I understand that I probably won't be able to be with the Saints supporters as I'm clearly not a Saints ticket holder, but can I just turn up on the day and pay? Surely Brentford won't be a sell out? Can't wait.
  4. It's on Setanta (yes, they still exist) here in Oz. 4.15 am kick off. Argh!
  5. I live in Sydney and I've just been to Adelaide for the 2nd test. I bumped into one 'sash' in a pub, although, to be honest, he wasn't that interesting, even though he was a Saints fan.
  6. Hey tpbury, what channel are you watching it on up in Queensland? I've checked ESPN and ESPN HD and I can't see it listed on either. Do you get more channels than us Sydneysiders?
  7. It's not being shown live here in Australia, but Setanta are showing the full game at 9.15 on Sunday morning. COYR.
  8. Thanks to the international break, it's on live here in Australia at 3.30am. I'll be recording it and watching it before I go to work on Monday morning. Should be a nice start to the week...
  9. The other thing we shouldn't forget is Pardew's stature in the game. As an ex-Premiership manager and a coach who's won a couple of promotions, he has it in spades. Which is one more reason why he can attract decent players. Getting non-entities from Holland, purely on the basis of them being cheap, was never going to succeed, because people don't want to play for someone they've never heard of. Common sense, really.
  10. Well said Landford. I think you can see from the support for your post, that this is how most people who read this forum feel. The trouble with the yoof is they want everything yesterday. Which is why TV and papers and magazines now come in such bite size chunks - so their tiny brains can take it all in. Patience is so important right now. Look where Leeds are, after all the despair they've been through. And don't forget, we've effectively got a Premiership manager looking after us in the turd division FFS! BTW, I've been living in Sydney for some years now. The Aussies always call us "whingeing Poms". When I read some of the ****e on this forum, I can understand why.
  11. Mate, you have a good point. But the fact you've bothered to get a ticket/season ticket means you're a Saints fan. A protest is all about getting the message across, and 'LOWE OUT' will be much easier to read. Believe me, I'm in advertising.
  12. Personally, I'd go with '**** off you smug git.' But for clarity, it has to be 'LOWE OUT'. I look forward to seeing it here in Sydney as I watch Man Ure humiliate us in front of millions around the world. Thanks Wupert. ****.
  13. 22. He's a smug git 23. He has a smarmy smile 24. He really does know **** all about football, so he should **** off back to a sport that deserves him: hockey.
  14. Dell Days, You are spot on. Just five short years ago we were in our best position since the early '80s. We all know where we are now. What it also shows is that **** doesn't have the same ambition as the supporters do for our club. What Lowe fails to understand is that when you are in a position of strength, you attract good players. So far from being a selling club, players would actually have wanted to come to Southampton. (Not the big boys of course, but we still could have attracted good players that would have kept us competitive.) I always feared that if we got relegated from the Premier League we would end up like the QPRs, Wednesdays and Forests of the world. Unfortunately, thanks to that short-sighted imbecile running our club (sue me if you want Lowe, I live in Sydney) we will just slide further into the mire.
