  1. What a difference 6-8 months makes we were getting cherrypicked of some decent players and now here we are in the strongest financial position in the league doing the same to other clubs. As far as Palace i have little time for jordan he taked a big game and certainly stuck the knife into us so i guess its "what goes around comes around" next hopefully barry hearn
  2. What amazed me was when going to get the Luton cup game tickets i paid for 2 half season tickets and asked how long they would take to come through, she told me about 1 minute and went and printed the first slip and put it in the wallet and bob was my uncle, i was well chuffed and now with the post even happier apart from the first game falling foul to the weather.
  3. Shilts had bileys shot covered dont know what the fuss was about!!!! Great post and happy days looking back, i was at quite a few of those matches so its always good to bring the memories back, cheers
  4. Hey hey, thats a birthday treat for me then, fantastic!!!
  5. They are without a doubt the best side we have faced this season, they closed us down and harried us when we had the ball, they "should" win this league by a country mile. The transfer window will be interesting for both teams mainly who we get and who they lose, yesterday Beckford was playing to the shop window and there has to be a couple more than will be targets ie snodgrass, doyle etc. We still seem to be moving along under the radar so fingers crossed will escape the window complete. With a couple of additions we will be much stronger. I still have the feeling Leeds will blow it as they normally do, cup matches are one-offs lower league teams always rise to the occasion so as a pointer the cup never gives an "honest" view.
  6. Steamroller is a ****ing good song
  7. People can argue all day about the rights and wrongs of the 10 points, It was the smug way he delivered the news and the pleasure he took in it that means hes a **** of the highest order, kick someone when they were down and not give them any help and assistance only a lead weight when drowning, if we get there and he's there then i will enjoy boo-ing the **** loudly
  8. Saw this on SSN yesterday and first thought was "ouch" then sign her up, sure there could be a few good songs made up for her
  9. Im sure teams will do their homework against us any professional outfit would, as a successful team we have to get used to it now, same for mk dons they tried to counter our formation, style etc but were blown away second half, it makes a change for teams to be fearing us. If orient did then in truth they couldn't counter the pace in the second half. There first goal their forward seemed to want it more and the second, well 9 times out of 10 it goes somewhere else. We were much the better and stronger team and any other day, with better finishing, we would have walked the game in this game i dont think orient had any better plan just for us
  10. Eyes are blue 6ft 2 big Jim Steele is after youuuuuuuuuuu, now that brings back memories, what a lovely read lots of old and not so old players mixed in there, sure everyone has there favorites that have been left out or not as high as you would have liked. Funny i wouldn't have had KK in there as he was only here for 2 seasons and i think it was Mikey C and Stevie Moran that were more important then. As for Beattie, yes he had an attitude but alot of the greats do, whenever we met him he was very polite and happy to chat to young fans sign everything in sight etc etc, plus when he was playing for everton he told me how much Saints mean to him and he was devastated we went down. Does alot of charity work down here still as does Antti Niemi Wheres CMFG these days anyone know
  11. As far as Dellhurst was concerned, whatever the official number was you could add a few thousand on to that, all i seem to remember was a group of "home" fans and that was it, everywhere you looked there was red and white, what a day!!!
  12. Cheers to both main posters in this, thanks for the effort and they are good reads its always good to get fans views on training and behind the scenes
  13. Absolutely, at the moment im sure these teams are looking at us and fearing playing us, long may that continue
  14. If you still have a record player yes sure, or i suppose it could be recorded on a cassette tape (remember them, can you still buy them!) as i dont know how to record from the record player to a CD, any help welcome
  15. Connolly has a point to prove to a few managers and seems keen to do just that, if he keeps fit then we will have a awesome forward line. I'm sure no one would want to be playing us at the moment. As for his goal, he sent me the wrong way watching it!!! and not a beach ball in sight
  16. i,ve still got the bbc LP reord (remember them) one side the comentary from the BBC and the other side all the speeches etc in southampton the day after, the speech where the mayoress gives the club permission to drive through the bar gate an honour she says usually reversed for the Queen of england fantastic stuff. i might have to dig out the record player
  17. Why the **** should he say anything, i laughed my head off when reading it and they should have let shipperley in on it, im sure there were thousands and thousands of people who bet on the time of the first throw in forgive him, one of the few Saints legends and this hardly changes that
  18. Cheers for that, i was rooting for the bull and wanted to see the ****er with the camera get a horn in side nice to see a bull fight back, cant call it a sport and the crowd wanted blood they got it!! Thought the ref totally lost the plot was giving fouls for nothing when no one appealed didn't give blatant pushes on Lambert, really did swan around in a world of his own had to be the worse of a crap bunch this season
  19. From my crap position of itchen row ****ing D i thought we were ordinary at best, first goal Davis mistake, 2nd reaction was that it wasn't a penalty (refer to earlier comment about crap seat) expected us to come out second half and show abit of passion, not sure if passion was shown but 2 scrappy goals lateri thought we would go on but in fact they should have won it the 1-0n-1 chance and the header, penalties a lottery but 5 well taken ones and abit of excitement at the end, so paper over the cracks, a wins a win, bring back 4 players and win on friday. Also FFS stop Lloyd James stupid corner signals, the gnome stance makes you look gayyyyyy
  20. Found something more entertaining than last nights game, Arizona's avatar, would love to see "what happened next" Would love to have seen the ref last night do that so he could have got the **** kicked out of him for being a control freak knobhead, talk to the keepers before the penalties not when Lamberts waiting to take the first one
  21. Here here, well said
  22. Had the game been played before the manchester derby then i dont think we would have had 5mins injury time, i know the 30 seconds per sub etc but that is only ever wheeled out to justify time played, it never bears any resemblance to the games, and if we want to go down that route then we should have played at least an extra minute after they scored and not what seemed 10-15 seconds. The match didn't justify 5mins extra
  23. Still like to know where 5mins injury time came from, having said that i wouldn't have been bothered if we had scored then just annoyed because they did, double standards and all

  25. Yeah mine went when they were 4 and 3 and they are diehard Saints fans, which living in Fareham is hard work at times. Get them young get them into Saints and they will be hooked forever, I enjoy nothing better than driving to games with my now 14yr old son and discussing the game and after all the action. Start them young, get it in the blood while hes that keen and my son was named after MLT and the wife knew it and never complained, but his favorite player when really young was Matt Oakley!!!!!!!
