  1. Its always good to have sensible comments from other teams supporters, unlike our celtic friend!, and have to say i think there is more than a touch of truth in it. He's too good to be a bench warmer so yes a move to us would be sensible, but cant see it so hope he stays and gets them promoted as i like Lee Clark hes a hard working and honest manager. But the most shocking thing was having a chairman that learns from his mistakes, shocker!!!
  2. Here's hoping George has a blinder!!! he will enjoy the day no doubt. And we must have someone looking out for us, everytime we **** up everyone else does
  3. The Boss rules, end of.........
  4. What a fantastic thread this is and some fantastic pictures that bring back great memories, thanks to everyone that ha posted a picture, what about MLT after he'd lobbed schiecal in the 6-3, arms out wide, that "fan****ingtastic" look on his face
  5. I think if we really want a player then we go out and get him on our terms which i like, we are not here to make other clubs happy, look after number one and i dont give a **** what warnock says or thinks hes not at our club so **** him, maybe we just didnt really want gorkess as much as qpr wanted us to
  6. Bring back the Don!!!!!!!!
  7. Oh F U C K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. All excellent goals, Danny's was a friday night if i remember live on BBC1, and the fact he out jumped Hanson(?) for the 2nd made it laughable, but come on Delaps was just pure class so much power, actually too skillful for Rory but credit where its due
  9. Too true, the mans a total knob
  10. I was up in Dundee in Feb and braved going into a pub that was showing "live football on sky", I ordered a drink in best fake scottish accent and sat down to watch us. First goal and of course the "get in there" and "come on saints" flew out in my best queens english. This rather large evil looking haggis basher made his way over, my first thought was whos going to feed the goldfish! and then, I'm going to die for supporting Saints. When he got to me he just shouted "glad to see a fellow Saint this far from home", he had worked on the docks for years, where he switched his love from rangers to Saints, but had returned back to Dundee a year before. Ended up having a great night with the newly formed Dundee Saints supporters club, even the goal give away didn't dampen the night. Moral of the story is "Saints supporters get every where"
  11. puncheon is a good player but simply doesn't want to be on the bus, so get shot of him and move on
  12. in our own hands thats all we could ask for, just cant see brighton doing anything in the uddersfield game, we must have confidence after the last few games
  13. It is quite funny that we can preach to other clubs about financial planning etc, a couple of seasons ago we were getting **** from other clubs and here we are throwing mud from our lofty perch. We were ****ing lucky to be brought by ML and i remember how i felt each day thinking that i wouldnt have a club to follow the next, therefore i have sympathy with any club and their supporters, just remember how you all felt!!!
  14. Excellent thread on a match day, got me laughing, just hope after a good win the bear will be back
  15. Mark Yates spoke very highly of the club which was nice to hear, and i like the way NA comes across in interviews, from the chapel i thought AL had mi**** the first but the keeper got a touch and werent all 3 good finishes
  16. But surely Scott, a good keeper, no matter what age, should dominate the area AND the defenders around him, he seemed to be taking Fonte's lead and first half thats what led to him getting injured if he had gone for the ball when he should have then the collision would have been avoided, but its true he needs to play more regularly but its very much the chicken and the egg
  17. I have no axe to grind against either keeper, but felt yesterday that Bart had a couple of "should I stay or should I go" moments, and seemed to be taking his lead from the defenders and not dominating the area and letting them know what he is going to do, Bart may have great potential but IMO hes not ready "to go" now
  18. Noticed sunderland didnt have a poppy on theirs either, I always liked us doing that and wouldnt have thought it was too much to organise, must have been a couple of years now, did many other league 1 sides do it???
  19. I know 3 Cumbrian Saints that will be there so they have been ordered to have a few sing songs on me this year !!
  20. Money on Wally Downes doing the punching!!! But surely there are NDA in place so it would have to be made worth AP's while to print something, and are we really that big a news worthy club? now if it was say wayne rooney and some hooker, oh done already!!
  21. Spot on Bert, at the time NO CLUB would have resisted the money we were offered, and certainly not as we were a championship club at the time, yes we sold them but got decent money for youngsters, who, could have turned into a turkey, ok if you saw either then you knew there was something about them, but who knows what happens in football, its always good to see ex Saint academy players doing so well. Funny how they had Bale in a wales shirt and not a spuds one!!!!!!!!!
  22. hahaha it says david speedie played for us, sure he turned up now and again, but to say he played for us is a bit rich, never wanted to be here
  23. Ivan Golac was better than most realise, you had to see him to appreciate him, after thast we have been lucky with Killer. Claus, Antti but to me the best was only here a short time Ronnie Eklund he was amazing
  24. Too true, french **** or whatever nationality he is, should never wear the famous sash shirt EVER, unless we bring back fox hunting and use him as bait. then we will see how fast the ****er can run
  25. Think answers depend very much on your age, seen Bobby Moore be head and shoulders above anyone on the Dell pitch also George Best and Jimmy Greaves. Later on Cantona love him or hate him you certainly rate him, Henry a class act, Gascoigne the stereotype flawed genius. Same for Saints really Terry Paine could put a ball on a sixpence from 60 yds, Big Ron, Mikey Channon and of course MLT later on
