  1. Well, I think he's got to be pretty amazing to justify what's happened today. As far as I can see, he has no managerial experience advantages over Adkins, just that fact that he played for Argentina a few times. It feels like a completely unnecessary and risky cosmetic appointment. Nigel could be (and could have been for us) a manager on a par with Mourinho, Wenger, Sacchi, Zeman, Vilas Boas, Erickson, none of whom had top level playing careers. Maybe I'm wrong and Cortese is a genius, in which case, well done him, but it certainly feels bad at the moment.
  2. I do. The atmosphere is going to be toxic, and the players are going to be disillusioned surely. Cortese has taken a massive gamble completely needlessly. Admittedly I thought Nigel might be out of his depth earlier in the season, but he had turned it around, and I was wrong to doubt a manager who has achieved so much so quickly. If we turn out to be brilliant, well done Nicola, but I can't see that happening
  3. Agreed. I've never posted before, but I'm disgusted by today's events. Surely this is what we should do. The new manager might be brilliant, but I doubt it, and I struggle to see how he could do much better than Nigel.
