Looking at this differently do you honestly think we won't be bottom 6 after 12 games? Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk

Positives: hoj is playing his best football in a saints shirt, Redmond looks a lot better this year, ings seems to know how to play upfront and knows where the goal is, westergaard looks like a decent player and McCarthy looks good. Negatives: long continues to make a living as a professional headless chicken, Cedric looks poor, we lack any character when the going gets tough, tactical changes are mind boggling, we have 2 incredibly slow centre backs and consequently are vulnerable to pace, we've not won games we should win. Most importantly Hughes doesn't seem to know how to make it better. 3/10 Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

We have consistency; we are consistently underperforming, consistently dropping points we shouldn't, consistently playing a championship level striker who runs about a bit, consistently playing 2 centre halves who have no pace whatsoever, consistently playing a right back who has struggled for form over the last year, .... I'm sure we'll consistently play 442 under Hughes and consistently get over run in midfield when we lose momentum and hughes will consistently do the wrong thing to address the issues. How is that consistency working out for us? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Dismal stuff in the second half. Didn't look up for it in the slightest. Can only blame the manager for that. **** substitutions didn't really change anything for the better. Hughes needs to up his game, but sadly I think he's too far behind the times. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Hughes has lost this game for us by not addressing our loss of momentum. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Put our CBs in the order you think they belong.

For me it depends who they are playing with. I rated Stephens more than Yoshida as a partner to Van Dijk, but I wouldn't want Hoedt and Stephens playing together in a million years. For me assuming number 1 is Vestergaard Yoshida Stephens Bednarek And I'd never play Hoedt with Vestergaard. -
I'm pretty sure managers have been given some freedom to get their own people in that hasn't involved the black box... Which probably explains some of the dross we've had to put up with e.g. Martina, pied, Elia, carillo, ... from your list I'm pretty sure Pelle and clasie would have been black box signings, but I hardly think Pelle was a disaster. Completely agree with this. None are good enough and yet we have been a defensive side for the last 2 years... It defies all sense Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Lol. 2 teams of non-defending attackless wonders.... The Southampton way, we plod on [emoji3] Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

At some point we need to attack the opposition. 4-3-3 for me, but with a narrow midfield supported by the full backs stepping up when we attack and the wings falling back into a 5 when we defend --------------------mccarthy-------------------- Cedric---stephens---yoshida---bertrand ----------------------romeu---------------------- -------------lemina--------davis------------- Redmond-------austin-------------sims Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

4-4-2 and overrun in midfield. What a surprise. Down we go... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

We'll get overrun in midfield with 2 up top unless we resort to longer balls so I hope not. I'd like to see the wide players pushing on a lot more to support the front man so we are effectively attacking with 3 and with someone playing in the no 10 role pulling the strings. Unfortunately I'm not sure we have enough energy in our wide players to do the tracking back that would be required or a proper no 10 for that matter. I think this is probably les' idea for playing 4-2-3-1 but he doesn't buy the right players to fit the system... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

As I said we're down. He should have gone a long time ago but it is clear he's going nowhere Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Hughes seems to have links with agents that have decent players on their books which could "enable" some decent signings. I'm not convinced he is a saints style manager though as he'll want more control than we let our managers have. Personally I would expect another left field choice.
