  1. Completely agree. AA just doesn't have the brain for premier league football - it's something that will never change and frustrates the hell out of me that he continues to get picked based on being able to run fast.
  2. You mean there might be hope for Nathan F Jones after all??? Maybe Rasmus was onto something...... Or was that one too many egg nogs
  3. Have I woken up in 1982?
  4. Considerable improvements. Disappointed not to get something out of that. Another day TP could have had a hat trick. Much more enjoyable to watch us trying to create goals. Only downside is that Sulemana continues to demonstrate that he's not a footballer, but hopefully Ivan now knows this.
  5. Are these the same players? Difficult to believe that only a couple of weeks later we look like a completely different team. Not much scar tissue this time? Clearly Russ' nonsense didn't deeply impact the players....
  6. I'm not sure if I remembered this wrong, but didn't Martin bang on about "doing the work" for ages (around about the same time he was going on about scar tissue)? In which case what on earth was he prattling on about? 2 days off after a game is a fucking disgrace - no wonder our weak minded players loved him...
  7. I've never seen any evidence that he's aggressive off the ball so I can't believe he's going to be effective pressing - I'd like to be proven wrong, but I'm not holding out any hope that he's going to fit the Juric system
  8. Mental decision.

    Ivan Juric

Welcome Ivan! Looking forward to some aggressive front footed football. It will be a nice break from needing to trust the process, be brave or any of the rest of the previous charlatan's bobbins.
  10. Adam Armstrong is poor at premier league level because his brain just doesn't work fast enough and makes the wrong decisions or a decision too slowly 9/10 times. Sulemana has all the physical attributes to be a good player at premier league level but none of the mental faculties to succeed. Jack Stephens doesn't have the sense to realise that VAR will send you off even if you pull someone's hair and the referee can't see it. Russell Martin doesn't have the nouse to realise that continually doing the same thing that leads to you losing will continue to lead to you losing. Maybe just maybe we need someone a little brighter in charge of our team?
  11. I still live in hope that something will change. Russ is clearly under some pressure and is becoming slowly more and more unhinged. It's sad to see this happening to anyone, but it might take him going full blown mad Nate for them to act.
  12. A fluke win would give SR another excuse not to get rid of Martin and he would be insufferably smug having beaten the mighty spuds. I never want Saints to lose, but I'm not sure I could be happy about us winning until either Martin changes his football or he gets fired.
  13. To be fair it depends on your perspective - opposition fans undoubtedly enjoy the comedy of our defending and the gifted goals. Russ is clearly thinking of the big picture - why please 50,000 fans when he can please millions? Watch as we fill our ground with half and half scarf dinlos and away fans
  14. Genius!!! This has made my day If the Northam sung this with a changed last line "We hate Russell Martin" maybe the message might just get through... I can imagine the last 2 lines being sung over and over
  15. I don't believe it. He's done plenty enough now to get sacked and is still here. Either SR are waiting for the right person to say yes to replacing RM, they think it will cost too much to get rid or they don't care about relegation. My money is on the 2nd.
  16. I honestly don't think it matters now. We're down. Too much of a mountain to climb. The key thing for me is that the damage is minimised and we're ready to hit the ground running next season. Martin needs to go, but I'd rather the next manager doesn't get tarnished with the clusterwotsit that is our relegation this year.
  17. It sickens me that the players seem unaware that it isnt about whether they enjoy it but whether paying punters enjoy it? We don't exist for them - they exist for us.
  18. But he is a genius... he has discovered that if we "try to win" we will be ahead of everyone else who apparently are simply going through the motions. And he's so brave to be the first to try this revolutionary approach.
  19. How exactly did we go "toe to toe" with Chelsea?? The man is utterly deluded. We were properly schooled and if it was for slightly better finishing we would have lost by 10+
  20. Last night beautifully summed up everything that is wrong with Russell Martin. He decided to play high risk football that gifts numerous chances to the opposition He decided that Captain Jack should lead our team and CJ has demonstrated poor leadership having been sent off twice because he's lost his mind He decided to carry on playing high risk football with 10 men He decided to bring on BBD to help us chase out the game despite BBD being one of the most limited footballers in the premier league He decided to start with Nathan Wood (a very limited championship defender) rather than ABK (a German international) I can go on. Fundamentally we pay a manager to make good decisions. Russell Martin makes poor decisions. Irrespective of whether or not anyone thinks he's a complete tool he simply isn't good enough. RM out.
  21. Martin will bask in the glory unaware of the irony
  22. Captain jack is an utter helmet Russell Martin is an utter helmet Sports Republic are utter helmets
  23. I tend to use my eyes rather than worry about xG (which statistically is proven to be a flawed way of looking at football). There were 5 very good chances that they should have taken and somehow despite us defending like an u10s team they didn't take.
  24. I'm not sure that's true though. We've not really deserved to win any games this year - even the one we did win Everton did their best not to take chances they should have taken. Blaming refs and VAR is papering over the cracks.
  25. But we should have been 5-0 down at half time, only for some luck that fell our way. Easy to be angry with VAR, but we didn't really deserve to win.
