We won 4-0 against a division 1 side... Is Sunday league a step up from division 1 these days? I guess you've gone fishing and I've bitten, but FFS it's crap like this that drags this place down Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Strictly speaking you would say you bought it for the money you paid plus the money you borrowed, not the total amount you will pay including interest.... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I remember us having a similar problem when WGS was manager and he put it down to fitness. Personally I think it's a lack of fitness and is not having enough leadership on the field. Add one or two strong characters and give Ralph a pre season and I think we'll see something very different. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Genuine question, do you think we're ok up front? For me CB and a decent striker are top for me with a decent backup RB being next. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

A bit harsh to blame Hughes???? Hughes didn't get the players fit, coach them or have any sort of plan. Pellegrino was utter cock, but at least he had a plan even if it was crap. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Saints 1 Liverpool 3 - Match Thread and Reaction

I'm not sure I can bear to hear him say "Bobby firmino" one more time as if firmino is some kind of bin dipping victim Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk -
I knew before a ball was kicked that we'd be playing against 12 yesterday. The thing that astonished me was the level of blatant cheating. Within minutes of the game starting Lucas moura had thrown himself on the ground to win 2 undeserved free kicks, the first of which he was falling over before anyone touched him - I referee kids football almost every weekend and I understand how difficult it can be, but there are simple things you can easily see that will tell you if someone is diving. This then became a pattern for the whole of the game. Someone only had to fart near rose and he was tumbling over like he'd been assaulted. At one point vertongen who must be one of the strongest players on the pitch fell over like a limp lettuce leaf when challenged by Redmond. And then he has the temerity to book hoibjerg for diving... A good call but unbelievable in context of the rest. I also noticed how friend was being very pally with his spurs footballer buddies, the body language said it all. And then there are the big decisions, Sims kicked in the head in the penalty area... Look at the picture on the BBC website, how that isn't a penalty and a booking is beyond me. 2 blatant red cards not given right under his nose. Once again I'm left feeling that he should never ref a saints game again. Hopefully the club will do something about it - someone really needs to stand up against cheating by refs... On the bright side at least we won which is justice of a kind... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

And to think this all started with you making something up! I was only talking about January (which is what this is about) and where exactly did I say we had been doing this for years??? I don't think pelle was a panic buy but please don't let your lack of understanding get in the way of you continuing to not answer my questions. Why do you have an agenda against the club? Why do you make things up? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

So is buying players outside our strategy panic buying or not? Panic buying isn't about numbers but about giving up on strategy for supposed sort term gain. Please define what you believe panic buying to be? Anyway, perhaps you would like to answer my questions? You seem incapable of it... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I'm sorry this doesnt make any sense for you. How exactly did Austin or Carrillo fit a strategic aim? I'm still waiting for some answers from you but I can only assume you agree that you were talking utter twaddle. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

A club that produces the occasional world class player (bale, shearer, Le tiss) or develops a world class player on their way up (van dijk, aldervierld, mane) while playing attractive football and giving the big boys something to think about. An occasional trip to Wembley every now and the odd run out in Europe. I accept we're never going to be one of the big boys or win the league. All this while being a good community club. Better player than Walcott who a lot of people thought could be our saviour last year... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I've already said I believe that Carrillo and Austin were panic buys. What do I base this on? That neither of them fit our transfer strategy of buying players with potential with a view to developing them and selling later for a profit. Carrillo was a desperate attempt to help a failing manager. Austin was a last minute replacement for pelle. What I'm not sure about is why you seem to always have an anti club agenda? Maybe you're right but the last 2 signings in January were Carrillo and Austin neither of which fit our supposed strategy and both felt to me like panic buys. In a Austin's case at least he has done a job when fit... Agree with you on some of the other turkeys. Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk

I wasn't suggesting that for a minute - don't be so sensitive. I was disagreeing with your made up fact that we've decided to ignore injuries. Panic buying is what we've been doing for the last couple of years and it hasn't worked well. I'm just glad to see we're been more prudent. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

No we haven't we've decided that there is sufficient strength in depth to cover any injuries. That is the decision that should be questioned. I think a strategy where we don't panic buy has to be a better way forward. We're only "short" at right back/right wing back and we've got umpteen players who could do in there. Still we shouldn't let that stop a good old fashioned meltdown. Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk

I'm not sure where the notion of penny pinching comes from? We've spent a small fortune on players who don't get in the side and whose wages we continue to pay. If anything we've been irresponsible with money and have expensive players like Carrillo, Hoedt, boufal, who all appear to be superfluous. If the club is finally trying to be more responsible, then I'm all for it as long as the strategy is to spend money more wisely - and the is no evidence to suggest this isn't the case. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Does that mean we're also not allowed to use the word clubbing any more? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Exactly this. IMO we don't need to sign replacements for players who aren't first choice. And to answer batman. Try reading through this thread and the Cedric one - seems like an awful lot of hysteria to me Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

I'm struggling to understand the mass hysteria about players leaving. We have a bloated squad and it strikes me that Ralph and the club are addressing this. We want to create pathways for the youngsters. We can't do this if there is an experienced highly payed player in the way. Yes the youngsters may be raw, but only through experience will they learn. I don't see how we can address these issues without letting players go without replacing them? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Let's hope Hughes finds himself a new club soon and takes his lovechild with him Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Couldn't agree more. I can't believe that people are so quick to write attacking players off who have played badly under the ultra defensive/clueless managers who've been managing us for the last few seasons. You only have to look at the difference in Redmond... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Isn't that something that hassenhutl said in a presser? I'm not sure hassenhutl told Blackmore anything directly... It's like me saying "jwp told me there is now a clear game plan". When will Blackmore actually say something true that everyone already doesn't know? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Do you honestly think that it is simply a case of spending more on better known players? We're not an attractive proposition for really good players (no European football, wage limits) so we'd always be looking at players who wouldn't quite be good enough to play for the big teams - if we want someone who is proven. Looking for undiscovered gems or young players with potential is the right approach in my mind, but imo for every gem we will have to put up with some players who simply aren't good enough.
