  1. Perhaps the Club are trying to find a way to cash in on a saleable asset while he is still saleable for a decent price so they can replace and repeat. I couldnt blame them if they did to be honest, there is no room for sentimentality in football anymore - money, greedy agents and players destroyed that a long time ago.
  2. Got through that without really getting out of 2nd gear with a bunch of kids playing. No injuries, no bookings. Job well done.
  3. I take it back, that cross was abysmal
  4. I'm surprised at how bad Shane long has been. He looks like he's playing above his level and struggling to cope. I honestly expected him to be decent tonight against weaker opposition. On a positive note valery looks comfortable going forwards, watts looks good, diallo and jwp are bossing midfield without breaking a sweat.
  5. A bit more quality up front and we comfortably win that game irrespective of the goal. We desperately need some better attacking options off the bench... Shane long - Leicester must have been quaking in their boots...
  6. I'll agree with that, but a decent keeper doesn't get beaten by that shot. What the fuck was he doing kneeling down FFS?
  7. Hardly Stephens fault for not saving a near post shot. Shit keeping - he couldn't have made himself smaller.
  8. Both of Mane's penalty appeals were dives where he threw out his arms before falling over - it is the tell tale sign that refs look for. Watch them both again - clear as day. Thiago had at least 3 warnings and should have be yellowed for the foul on Djenepo I wasnt commenting on us, just responding to the Scousers view that they were somehow cheated
  9. Thiago should have gone after 25 mins, but the ref bottled it and again just after half time. Had he been one of ours I suspect he would have gone.... Mane should have had 2 yellows for dives - again never going to happen to a big 6 player
  10. Great gutsy performance - even the kids came on and did us proud. Couldn't be more proud to be a saint tonight!
  11. One mistake does not make a liability. Don't get me wrong I'm not a Stephens fan, but he was good today. If you are going to judge based on one mistake is Ings now a disaster?? He made numerous mistakes/poor decisions today and arguably one of the weaker players on the pitch.
  12. I think we've again been undone by not being able to break down an unadventurous team again. Ralph has been far too slow to try and change things up and seems too content to try and nick a spawny goal to win these sort of games. I thought defensively we were pretty good. Unfortunately we seem to have lost that bit of zip with the ball that we had earlier in the season and I can't help but feel that we've been somewhat found out. Djenepo doesn't seem to be on the same wavelength as Bertrand and Ings hasn't hit the form we would expect from him, but the service is awful at the moment. Adams had an off day but hardly surprising given he was booted in the head.
  13. Walcott has given us most of the threat so far. Need to continue to exploit his and walker peters pace down the right hand side. Left hand side is looking weaker, but what I can't work out is whether the cause is djenepo or betrand (everyone who plays in front of Bertie at the moment seems to play shit)
  14. Sorry I can't agree with that. He was awful throughout. He might have taken his offside chance we'll, but he was offside FFS. He did very little to create a nuisance of himself, but did a spectacular job of making runs into the same areas as Che and being on a completely different wavelength to everyone else. Shane has never been good enough for a regular starting spot for us and now he spends half his time jogging around looking useless he wouldn't be good enough for most championship teams.
  15. He's been poor today but long is setting the benchmark for proper shit
  16. Djenepo on, long off and, Walcott up front and we've got a good chance of winning this.
  17. Who is this idiot commentator, has literally no idea what the rules are and has his tongue so far up Fulham's arse it is quite ridiculous. We're suffering from having 10 players (or should I say Shane long) - looking very poor going forward today
  18. Lol - it seems we're in agreement (read what I said). I was talking about off the ball - where I think he does well. On the ball he makes poor decisions, but I personally think these are down to a lack of confidence and over thinking.
  19. I'm not defending Redmond and my comment was more general, but to say he doesn't have good technique or control is quite a statement - the player I see has good technique and when he's on his game has fabulous control, but for too long he has lacked confidence and more importantly makes poor decisions with the ball. On the flipside he does have good awareness of the game around him with intelligent runs and particularly playing against the ball which is sadly lacking from others who are lauded for their play with the ball - djenepo consistently causes us problems with his headless chicken approach to defending, Walcott frequently leaves gaping holes when he gives up the chase and Armstrong seems to give up the ball far too easily in ridiculous places. Unfortunately none of our number 10s are consistent or have a complete game, but all of them do a good job for a team who are giving the big boys a run for their money.
  20. It's interesting that fans expect anything else from these sort of players. If they were consistent they would be among the best players in the world and playing for Barcelona, real Madrid, Liverpool, man city, etc... I can't really think of any player in these positions who doesn't blow hot and cold and frustrate fans and doesn't play for a top team. For example when zaha was consistently doing it in one season for palace he was suddenly a £100m player.
  21. Disgusting. Under the current rules that is a pen every day of the week.
  22. We don't deserve to be losing this - we've had far more chances than them, their quality showing in taking their best chance. I'm wondering what it is that is preventing Dean from getting his yellow out for man city players (except de bruyne) - another biased to the big boys performance so far.
  23. I think we'll see an attacking approach from city which could play into our hands. As you say city need a win so I can't believe they will be cautious. An early goal from us would be very disruptive to them and I suspect we'll see a bit more energy in the press from the start - which I agree probably means a rest for Armstrong.
  24. I can't believe I'm disappointed with an away point against arsenal - an away point that takes us third! Has to be said that ref was abysmal. Nice he decided to even it up by putting his side down to 11 men. Probably should have been a pen, but I would have been fuming if that was given against us.
  25. What a goal from redders! Vest has been amazing today. Adams has been phenomenal - incredible workrate, strength and link up play.
