  1. Shit half time talk. Perhaps we need someone to support Ralph by firing everyone up. We always seem to come out too relaxed where we're leading at half time
  2. I won't be sad to see him go. The main thing we will lose are the Hollywood passes which on a good day were highly effective, but on a bad day resulted in a fast turnover of possession. far too often last season we were reliant on this being our only tactic. Otherwise as mentioned many times above he's far too slow both to move and to react and no where near as good as he someone of his stature should be in the air. I'm looking forward to seeing who we replace him with - hopefully someone a bit more dynamic.
  3. That's not a trend.... Can you try and be a little bit objective?
  4. Who else have we "lost" to a rival? Not exactly a trend is it?
  5. I'm not sure we can we afford that. The saving on Ings wages would unlikely cover improved wages for Armstrong and Edouard - at the moment our strategy seems to be trying to get control of our spiralling costs - replacing one person with 2 isn't going to fit.
  6. Ok clever clogs, what is in it for someone to invest in Southampton? Both wolves and Leicester we're invested in when there was growth potential I'm the football market and both were in good positions for investment - I wasn't talking about what happened a few years ago I'm talking about now. why don't you stop being a pedantic bore and actually contribute something worthwhile to this forum for once??
  7. What do you seriously expect from an owner? There are no good returns on football "investment", we have a relatively small fanbase and we're not exactly a world renowned brand (like man u, Liverpool, etc) - so the only way we would have someone who was prepared to throw their hard earned money at us is if they have a connection to the club. Now remind me how many Southampton supporting billionaires are there???
  8. I hope you are right, but he continued to play mason mount in every game.... Despite him being shite
  9. Southgate is a good leader but a poor tactician. He should have put grealish on much earlier and mount has consistently proven to be nothing but a hard worker - not exactly worthy of a starting place in a euro final. Southgate was too cautious and then failed to react to the problems that happened in the first half until way later in the game. Fundamentally he needs help from a better team - hopefully he will reflect, but I suspect he'll keep ploughing the same furrow.
  10. Southgate working out who is shittest by substituting the best performers (excluding sterling). Harry Kane has been absolutely shite again. That should see us knocked out next round...
  11. He always takes a long time to get back on form after injury. Unfortunately based on track record he will be shite for the whole tournament
  12. Literally no cutting edge. A manager who doesn't address the problems. Are England saints in disguise??
  13. Where's Les bragging about what a good signing Wes was.......
  14. What exactly does Declan rice being to a game of possession football? He's the ultimate sideways passer. This England team are going to struggle unless they can find a midfielder who can pass a ball forward.
  15. Not just limited to Redmond though.... McCarthy, bednarek, vestergaard, minamino all dreadful again today. We are still a shambles - nothing much has changed
  16. We are fucking shit at the back. Redmond makes a mistake and no one marks fornals.
  17. That's on Ralph - McCarthy is nothing like a good goalkeeper at the moment - shouldn't have picked him.
  18. Alec Ferguson was clever enough to realise that he was only as good as the staff around him and used a change of number 2 to modernise, refresh and adapt to new ways of thinking - Brian kidd was part of that and his influence shouldn't be underestimated. Sadly we keep the same coaches behind the scenes - whether this is Ralph's fault or the board's fault is something I don't think we will ever know. I can't help thinking that Ralph doesn't really listen to anyone else which is why we keep failing in the same way over and over again.
  19. Remind me who plays on the left side of our cbs (in a zonal system)? Wasn't Stephens man in the first place - not saying he was faultless, but vest deserves more of the blame.
  20. Stephens?? Vestergaard was the one who drifted out of position and slipped over...
  21. 100% agree - worth also remembering he's also got a pretty patchy injury record too. I can't believe there is anything in this one (apart from some lazy journalism)
  22. He seems to incite blind hatred in a number of our fanbase - I'm not sure a logical argument will help
  23. He's a ghost.... So much so he sneaks in at the far post
  24. Vestergaard at fault for both goals - perhaps it is time to look to the future and give salisu a run of games with bednarek. It's clear that we desperately need someone who's a bit more prolific up front, someone who drives midfield if romeu isnt playing and some full back cover - although Stephens had a decent enough game today. A better performance and if we play like that against palace we should get some points. Hopefully the summer will bring some improvement, but I'm not particularly hopeful for next season.
  25. But today he's played pretty well so far... Giving someone pelters for playing badly in a different game is a bit bizarre...
