My observations from today 1. Outclassed bar 1st 15 mins 2. Our midfield can't cope against movement and strength. Very average. 3. Forster needs dropping but no fit alternatives 4. Les reeds head in the sand re striker recruitment is telling. 5. Summer signings need more time although hojberg looks average. 6. Football is boring to watch 7. Time for the darts

Slow uninspired football which may end up with us having a mid table finish. But a lot of our current problems are down in My opinion to les reeds inability in the summer to see what every saints fan could see. Lack of goals.

Football is an entertainment business and we don't entertain. Boring, bloody boring.

I doubt les reed will agree with any of us and Gallagher isn't the answer.

First half was absolute durge and terrible to watch. At least we played with a little more tempo and one moment of magic won the game. But this was Middlesbrough and I see some struggles this season at st Mary's. but our football isn't very exciting to watch. One positive was Jrod getting a decent run out and was unlucky today.

Well said. Puel isn't very inspiring and starting to wonder if the players aren't exactly inspired either. The football is absolutely boring to watch and obviously not the Southampton way. Desperately need a win tomorrow. Lots of people go on on Herr about being too good to go down. Bar Burnley and Swansea I don't see many other teams playing as badly as us.

Dreadful again tonight. Lack of pace and again absolutely boring to watch and I can't see anything changing under the manager. I can't see us spending any money in the window whilst the board try and potentially offload the club. Personally I feel the board has mugged off every saints fan over its transfer policy and I'm gutted for all those fans that spent their hard earned cash traveling to Europe. Just gutted that after last year we failed to push on and now look worse than West Brom.

Can't see any decent incoming players. If the liebhers are looking to find a buyer for the club then I cannot see them throwing at it. Think we need to be more concerned about players leaving.

This is how we are gonna be this season, good in some games and shocking in others. Lack of quality due to poor summer window will mean if players have off days then not enough quality to help from the bench.

Have to say what was has happened to Barkley, zero confidence and looks a shadow of himself? He needs to get away from Everton.

Didn't Watford turn down huge money in the summer for igalo and deeny. How can they do it? We seem to get bullied, Are our board weak? Our football is just predictable and boring. Last season we hit a tricky run and koeman totally changed formation and turned the corner. Can pull do the same I wonder?

We are terrible to watch... slow in possession, nobody in midfield capable of a forward pass. Absolutely no cohesion between front 3 who need to play closer together. Absolute garbage, bar McQueen.

That was obvious from the start if the season but les reed didn't get his head out of his arse or the board were not prepared to invest.

A good win and one which will live long. But we need to put things in perspective as Milan were very poor and our first half performance wasn't great. We moved the ball far to slowly and we need someone in our midfield 3 who can take the ball forward and beat a player.Whatever puel said at half time worked and looked much better especially when Austin came on. I do feel that hull will be a tougher game on Sunday but hopefully pretty much full strength for that one. Win the group and see where it leaves us.

I think lots of fans saw this situation with Austin replacing long..regardless the club didn't. And now we are a striker light.

Midfield been taking a lesson from the great Jim magilton school of sideways and backwards passing. Someone just needs to get their head up and pass forward
