Reed should be on borrowed time....
-
Different manager same result and nothing seems to have changed with the same players playing in the same positions. Within the first 5 mins you could see that if was going to be a tough afternoon as Watford seemed to be on the pulse from the very off whilst we on the other hand were ponderous. There were numerous occasions when the manager was trying to direct players and they paid no attention whatsoever and on one occasion redmond was told to push up and then totally left his man unmarked and he exchanged some pretty animated gestures towards the bench. Absolutely no cohesion in the play today, nobody seemed to be on the same wavelength with anyone else. This formation has to change otherwise another season of boring uninspiring awaits. Whilst we can blame the manager I'm amazed how les reed seems to be loved on here. He takes all the credit getting all these players on long term contracts which basically ensures the owners line their pockets when we sell them a year later but he hasn't done anything whatsoever about what our glaring issue was last season and now in this. Lack of goals from midfield and a striker in the pelle mould who would hold the ball up and dominate opposing defences. If it appears he's made an error in judgement on our current manager then he needs to pack his bags. Need to get van djik back into this team as it needs a leader and a figurehead. He's been a complete **** but willing to forget that for now if he puts it in on the pitch.

I wouldn't say it's been gash but the club have failed to address the issues of last year.... we simply don't score enough goals. Everyone can see it bar les and the board.
-
Les reed sees everything bar the bloody obvious....woefully weak up front last season and hasn't done anything to rectify.
-
We always receive the ball facing our goal with nobody capable of spinning out of a challenge. Absolutely no service up front whatsoever. We seem a bit disjointed and unorganised all over the park. Pretty poor and we'll do well to get a point if this continues.
-
Tomorrow get Virgil back training with the first team....forget what's happened because our defence is a liability from set peices and corners.
-
Why on earth play 3 at the back against a championship side. If you play that you need expansive and pacy wing backs. Pied and McQueen offered very little. Pied not good enough whatsoever. The worrying thing going forwards is that everyone could see it wasn't working and it took till 70 mins before pellegrino did. Austin had absolutely not service at all, playing and extra player in defence left us woefully short everywhere else.
-
So what's changed... issues in the family perhaps? May be why he wants away.
-
Great to win that match... the biggest problem is the lack of height in our team and that Stephens and yoshida are the not greatest in the air. If definitely a weakness that teams will look to exploit. Everytime West Ham put the ball in our box we didn't look at all comfortable.
-
Although he may have an issue crosses
-
To play a One up front you need a midfielder or one or two of the forward players to be delivering 10-15 goals a season. This was the issue last season and still to be addressed over the summer
-
I agree but the frustrations stem from last seasons weaknesses that haven't been addressed. We ended the season poorly and no matter who the manager is it's going to be a struggle with virtually the same squad. But it could all be different on the 1st day if the season.
-
He didn't have any players
-
It's only a friendly but some worrying aspects. Without virgil we are gonna concede plenty from set pieces and our midfield looks powderpuff. How the club haven't addressed the midfield issue is unforgivable.
-
With Stephens and yoshida I just feel we are prone to balls into the box and add to that a keeper who doesn't command his area I think this is cause for concern.
-
Source most likely being his agent or a mate who's just released this to the press or from Liverpool indirectly . Just another attempt to force a move.
-
The last few pre seasons and been a disaster in terms of preparation for the upcoming season. Waiting till the end of the window to save a few quid will catch up with us sooner rather than later.
-
So sad to hear, he battled hard and inspired many. Fair play to Defoe who obviously inspired Bradley.
-
The problem is that the have dithered again. If puel wasn't part of next seasons plans then he should have gone a lot earlier but again we spend the first half of the pre season fannying around looking for a manager. That's poor on Les reeds behalf. It looks like are going to get desperate again.
-
I'd have thought so. Generally new managers want their own team. Probably a decent coach but couldn't get to grips with the English game. Hope he does well back in France but now can look at next season with a little more optimism.
-
FA needs to grow some balls. Slap a 6 month transfer embargo on Liverpool if proven as that's the only way that illegal tapping up will end.
-
Most of it ends up in kats swag bag.....won't see that again.
-
I watched him the playoffs and thought he was pretty average.
-
If Virgil had any ambition he wouldn't be joining Liverpool.... Perhaps we'll get 40m and lovren
-
His biggest issue is that his substitutions never change a game in a positive way and we look totally disjointed when they happen. Poor on the training ground from both puel and black. Been borefest football, club cold calling fans to get them to renew, majority of fans had enough, poor atmosphere at st Mary's for the majority of last season.
