I agree that he was great for us but the man is an idiot. I've had the misfortune to meet him socially a couple of times and he was so arrogant it's untrue. Me and a few mates then had words with him and a few of his mates in Junnes when he decided he didn't want to wait for food and demanded ours when it arrived on the trolley. He's a complete pr!ck and seems to be behaving as badly on the field as he behaves off it.
  2. Try richer sounds. Loads of 37,40 and 42's under £400. Personally I wouldn't pay the extra for web tv. I saved the cash and bought a blu ray with the web features in that. Overall cost was the same but I got a blu ray. This one is a bargain if you have room for a 42. They have it in a 37 but for the same price! http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-led-tvs/lg/42lk450u/lg-42lk450

If you are friendly with a gp ask them what they think. It's the washed teddy (or blanket) thing thOugh that I cant comprehend. Why wash something that is ingrained with the smell and sweat of your missing daughter?
  4. Ignore him, keep feeding the lawyers
  5. He's a good player and his heart is in it. Many people judge a player by his work rate. If that was the correct way then chicken George was twice the player mlt was. Guly has played within himself whilst with us and consequently looks lazy and disinterested at times. In contrast chaplow runs around like a blue arsed fly but he's an inferior footballer. I'm sure Guly will excel in the prem.
  6. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt . Not all players can adapt or take an eternity (eg walcott) but I think that there is a bloody good player in Fox. The increased challenge of the prem may be all that he needs. Either way I'd hate to lose him.
  7. He frustrates me. He has improved but seems to play within himself so definitely more to come. His positional play leaves a lot to be desired and he doesn't overlap enough. With coaching the faults could be ironed out and I think he could become a very good player.

I still find this case fascinating. There is no evidence that the kid was abducted, nor any evidence that shes dead. I find it hard to accept that a random would stroll around a holiday complex and stumble across an apartment containing kids without a parent. It makes no sense. I also find Kate's responses to the police bizarre. It's also thoroughly odd that a parent would wash their missing child's smell off of the teddy or whatever it was just after she went missing. One school of thought is that the kid may have been sedated so that her parents could enjoy their night. I'm not saying that happened but it's not unheard of particularly amongst those with access to medication. Hypothetically, if that were to happen and perhaps with a tragic result would it be realistic to expect parents to fess up, or might panic set in? What if they worried about their careers or how foreign plod may view it? I'm open minded on this but there are many oddities in this case.
  9. Agreed. I don't claim to have the insight, but have faith in Nigel and his staff to have it. My point is that some won't be up to the task and that it's silly to suggest that they should be kept because they helped us get up.
  10. Why? We are now a Premier League club and need Premier League players. The club need to look after it's interests on and off the field - there can't be any room for sentiment. It's a harsh reality that several players who helped us get where are will not be good enough for next season. Savage is not "brain dead" for pointing out the obvious.
  11. But would anyone object to "the liebherr stadium"?
  12. Decent balance of cardio and weights for starters. Get on the mens health website where you'll get loads of tips. Stick with basics for now. Running, cycling, cross training, bench press, chins, dips, curls etc. As Adrian says you need fuel. Just cut out the rubbish, ie sugar, bread and generally fatty stuff. Snack on nuts and fruit rather than crisps and sweets. If possible get a plan from a personal trainer and change what you do every six weeks to keep you and your body interested.
  13. Leeds home and away. Home set the tone and away showed that we can fight and that even good teams need a slice of luck. Coventry home. We did what we had to and delivered the big prize in front of a record crowd and a TV audience.
  14. To be fair Nigel opened up the discussion in the immediate aftermath by talking of squad evolution and good things coming to an end. The Prem is a reality and what can be wrong with debating who's good enough and who's not. I hope that the club are looking at it now rather than trying to keep a nice happy glow about the club whilst other clubs move in for the pickings from relegated clubs both here and abroad. It's a sad reality that players who have helped us get where we are will not have a future. My feeling is that the club will not dump them unceremoniously and do all that they can to find them new clubs.
  15. It's safe to say that we will have never heard of most of the new acquisitions. I think it likely that we will recruit from Holland or Italy rather than Britain. We certainly need an injection of pace and creativity, particularly at the back and down the wings. Nigel's "evolution" of the squad will be quite a bit more than that imo. He and Cortese aren't afraid to upset people and will dump players in a heartbeat. I tool Nigel's "all things come to an end" comment as a clear signal to the playing side rather than himself. Whatever happens, there are exciting times ahead and I think it safe to assume that the investment will be made to ensure that we can be competitive in the prem.
  16. This. We'll be fine, I'm sure of it. I bet Adkins and the players are more relaxed than most people on this forum.
  17. I can't be arsed to respond point by point. I'm sure I've dealt with your points but if I haven't please clarify but do remember the issue is simply whether we need to expand our stadium, nothing else.
  18. Mate that is a ridiculous response. Not one point deals with the issues. If you want/need the last word then please be my guest. If you have a fragment of logic or evidence to support what you say please post it.
  19. FFs joe, common sense has no place on this site!
  20. Investment. Let's assume your correct that the 33m is that. That's not the issue. The topic is stadium expansion. Crowds. Stupid question. The point is whether there is evidence that we will attract bigger crowds consistently. There is none. Catchment. Look at a map. We can draw from 3 sides only. Folks won't come from pompey.
  21. We've done this on other threads. This is not dragons den. It's the real world. The geography has been done to the death. We have a much lesser catchment area than most other clubs. The return is simple arithmetic based on realistic ( not your pie in the sky 44k every game ) crowd numbers throughout the season in relation to development costs. If it were likely we would sell 44k every week then great, but it won't happen. 44k against Wigan, Bolton,Blackburn, Swansea, Norwich etc ain't gonna happen. Man U and Man C would only come to town once a season and you do not expand for raritys. Loans. We lost 33m last year. Yes it was converted to shares but we still lost it. That loss was incurred to get us up and looks like a risk that was worth taking and will give a massive return on promotion. Expansion won't give a return. Figures please. Staplewood. I never mentioned it! Money well spent though. We have always developed players whether for us or profit. That facility, our existing stadium, track record and ambition will help attract great kids to justify (if needed) the cost.
  22. Jesus MLG, why must you drag this up every now and again? It's been done to death. Your best point ( and it's a bad one) is to point to what reading and wolves have done. We are not them so the reference is meaningless. It's also been made clear that the return on the cost of expansion just isn't there. Our club nearly died as a result of expenditure above income, primarily on the back of a stadium. We have been rescued by prudent business people who will not risk our future on a costly expansion that we do not need, and more importantly is not commercially viable.
  23. And being found not guilty is not necessarily an indication of innocence (eg OJ Simpson). I'm not saying the Barney decision was wrong ( the unanimous verdict in less than an hour suggests it was probably correct) but Barney has not been found innocent as many think. As to the stats, when I had a criminal defence practice it's fair to say that the vast majority of my clients who were acquitted were probably guilty as hell. They got off as a result of decent defence lawyers and/or crap prosecutors.
