  1. Ha!! I was thinking this earlier. We slaughtered Forest last year, but we've signed enough to put a whole new team, and some subs. Our first team squad ain't a million miles from Chelsea's 43 or whatever it is!
  2. This is a football thread, about real life footballers. That he's signed for us interests me. How he's rated on a game isn't of any interest to me, and I don't think its relevant. By all means start a thread on the lounge about computer game player ratings if you want, but this ain't the place for it imo. And no, I'm not interested in your opinion on it, or a discussion. You've got the answer you asked for.
  3. Probably a topic for another thread, but Toney is an addict and will have to make decisions based on finances, career, and his addiction. If he's focusing on the latter (he should and I think he is) he'll make decisions that keep life as simple as possible, and in doing so avoid ego trips and anything that could lead to resentment. A cushy gig in Saudi where he has no chance of being picked for England then overlooked would tick all the boxes. For any other footballer, it's still a job, and I believe it's more about money than winning things for pretty much all of them.
  4. I'm not sure he will. If that was likely, I think Wood would have gone on loan. I'd imagine he'll trim the 1st team squad to a core group, and the rest will train separately. It'll be unmanageable otherwise. I'm interested where Edozie fits in after this. Can't see there's any room for him. Daft lad should have sorted himself out yesterday - he had a cracking menu to pick from.
  5. I'm with lighthouse on this. To us fans being a top pro footballer feels like a bit of dream, but these guys are working. If I had the choice of working for 2 years earning £30m or so and then retiring, or working 4-5 years for the same money then retiring, I'd take the 2 year option. Seems to me that's what Toney has chosen to do.
  6. There's space I think for everyone.
  7. I reckon so - I think Howe still holds a resentment from that. Anyways, glad to have him back here. Very good squad player for us.
  8. Brentford rather chuffed with Meghoma. Their manager seems to be suggesting he'll be helping the first team this season. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/ckgwnwk4dgrt?post=asset%3A6d4dc2c7-f146-48b8-81b5-29a7f19709f5#post
  9. So I think we're back to 24 with the double counting. Plus the youngsters, that's a lot of players to train and keep motivated.
  10. Fuck me you're a bundle of giggles. Archer is decent. BBD is decent. I couldn't give a monkeys how they performed in a poor Sheffield United.
  11. Ha!! The B team can't fill the bench so I think he'll run around with them.
  12. Archer, BBD. There was only a hole last week because he didn't fill it with a player.
  13. Cheers...only 4 subs... perhaps someone left the squad to sort a move.
  14. Thanks. Not much doubt about that!
  15. I think BBD becomes the alternative middle man to Archer, with Cornet, Fraser, AA, SAA the wide options. Not ideal, but it could be worse.
  16. What did he say? I know Hypo alluded to it after the game, but I can't see any comments anywhere.

Indeed. In the real world anyone with any sense wants to progress and develop, and mates who've done well somewhere else, will always tell us how good it is. That's life. When I was a kid, my dad and his mate worked at Ford's . His mate moved to the docks and once told him how great it was, better money, more opportunities, and that there were jobs available. I never realised before now what a massive prick that bloke was! Good job my dad didn't take the job, I may never have forgiven him cos I've always been a fan of transit's.

I have zero reason to doubt what I heard, and no reason to take the media spin over it. Regardless, there's no doubting that he stayed bloody loyal to us when relegated and it's a shame many fans can't see that. At the end of the day, people can believe what/who they like, no skin off my nose, but I find it a tad pathetic that people take the media spin at face value, and can still be bitter about it years later. He's back, he's good, move on.

Proof he stitched us up? Or is it just speculation? I heard enough at the time to satisfy me that he did nowt wrong.

Ha!!! Footballer gives the best years of his career to us, sticks with us when relegated, doesn't get the move he's promised, but he's the bad guy cos Les told you he was. Fans have been taken in by the bs on this. Cracking player. Glad he's back. Glad it's annoyed you.
  22. It depends on how you view it. I think some of our league 1 signings were massive statements that we were there to be the best, get promoted, then be the best. Regardless, he's a proper statement signing for where we are now.
  23. I'm genuinely surprised if he doesn't recognise that playing a season at that level will do him the world of good.
  24. Absolutely massive signing. Great work from the club. Another centre forward (a good one), keep hold of KWP, add a decent winger, and this will be a 12 out of 10 window.
