If Lowe really intended to do what is right for the club he would simply go. He will not do this. What he means is he will do what is best for his survival. I suspect we will have some statement along the lines of following the meeting it was clear from Poortvleit and the players that they were at a loss to know what to do to improve results and on this basis Lowe will state regretfully it has been agreed that Poortvleit will stand down with immediate effect. If he plays it right he can stretch things out until the transfer window is closed with out a new manager. This will enable him to get any players out he can [if there are any takers] unhindered, and without the pressure of a new manager wanting players in. Lowe is on a course to take us down. If he had kept Pearson i beleive we would have stayed up. Sadly all we can do is watch him destroy our once proud club and its very sad.

David Armstrong called for a boycott by the fans last night
glkdcdes replied to derry's topic in The Saints
There are 3 truths regarding Southampton at the moment 1. If we do not make any changes immediately we are relegated. 2. Lowe is not capable of appointing the right manager for too many reasons to say. 3. Any manager capable of keeping us up [and there will not be many] will not be able to work with Lowe. Solution therefor is for Lowe to go. New team on board and immediately work out cost of relegation and likely stay in div 1 versus cost of a proven manager. Cant help thinking there must be a case of spending money on a proven candidate. Under the right circumstances we will attract a suitable candidate. The time to act is now, it is still not too late to stay up. It will soon be too late and Lowes well documented character floors i dont think will allow him to do what is necessary. On this basis i fully support Armstrongs plea for a boycott. -
Once again it is not about getting Poortvleit out. That will only mask and delay the real problem. Lowe is the problem, it was totally his decision to go with a cheap and unproven manager. Listening to Pearson on 5 live this morning reminded me again what a stupid thing Lowe did getting rid of him. Very predictable responses to come on this forum today,ie. we lost we are doomed. Last week we won, we will stay up. Face it we are going down, it was likely from the start of the season as soon as the cretinous Lowe got meddling. Lowe.... you are not wanted.......... You are arrogant and disliked and do not fit in to football...... do it for yourself............. do it for your wife............just do it............... please.just go.......for ever......... Then at least something can change. Otherwise we are down and staying down.

0 1 last minute goal to doncaster. will have missed 2 or 3 open goals, but would have passed the ball well. Some one will say they wanted it more.

Sadly important as they are the next 2 games will not tell us if we stay up or go down. Of course as fans we will take the optomistic view, which is why the majority will beleive before every game that we will win [look at the pre match predictons each week]. All the facts this season unfortunately lead me to beleive we will be relegated and if we go in to the last game with it still in our hands i will be surprised. The problem with us is we talk a good game but then we have to play the match and the other team spoils our fantasy [more often than not]
-
Sadly when, not if we are relegated we will not come straight up. Even if the cretinous Lowe does the decent thing and goes [which i really do not think he has in him to do], we will still find it hard to come straight back. Look at Leeds for instance. Our only chance for next season is for immediate regime change, to give a new management team a chance to get ready for next season.

next three games......... minimum points? Yes.

August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration
glkdcdes replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Totally agree. The biggest problem is Lowe in the short term. Having made another fundamental **** up in removing Pearson and his total football Dutch experiment, i dont see that anything can change. His arrogance will not allow him to correct his error and he will be more than capable of hiding behind the smokescreen of previous regime errors and financal restraints. Therefor without the likely hood of any financal input or Lowe doing us a favour and going it is not even a debate as to if we will be relegated. Unfortunately it is inevitable. As far as what will be our outlook in the next three years, look at say Leeds or even nottingham forest. I dont expect us to return soon. If we do go into administration the only positive to come out of this is it is our best chance of getting the cancerous Lowe out of our club for good. From then it will be a hard slog and all we can do is hope that who ever buys us has more ability and competence than our prevous [say 7 years] encumbants have had. The other inevitable fact is myself and many thousand other fans will still support our team so unfortunately i only see a good few years of bad news and struggle. Depressing isnt it. Someone, HELP. -
i will be surprised if man u score less than 7 past our defence, [loose term]. but i predict how ever big the defeat Poortvliet will say at some point, that we made some good play against the best team in the world and the youngsters can take what they learned into the 2nd half of the season, or words to that affect.
-
unfortunately we are screwed with or with out Cork, his leavng is just another symptom of what Lowe is doing to our once proud club. Think about it, we wll be in the 1st division next season. Unless Lowe can attract a manager like say Pearson with somethng about them there is a good chance we will stay in that league for a few years. If that happens if and when we come back up we wll be stripped of all assetts and at best will be a champonship team. I know its doom and gloom but with or without Cork we are F..UCK..ED

that Lowe will do a Lucan

What evidence have you seen of jans management skills?
glkdcdes replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
wth the resources he has and under current stewardship of the cretin Lowe and the fact he has no experience of this league hes doing as well as could be expected.as -
I am not saying this with the benefit of hindsite as my posts at the time can show, i also said that i felt Pearson would do very well. So i have 2 questions i would love to have answers for. 1. If we just missed relegation last season on the last day of the season with an inspiring manager, can any one put up a plausible [not an unrealistic optomistic] explanation as to why we wont be relegated. 2. If it was obvious to me and many others [and i dont pretend to be a football expert]that we would struggle and probably be relegated with Lowes pre season decisions, why did he make these decisions [please dont say financial restraints made them necessay because that would mean he could only make this one policy.ie. cheap manager only youth etc.]
-
totally agree. Its hard to imagine but the right person in charge and you will be surprised at how quckly things can change despite all the doom and gloom. While the imbecile Lowe is running the club there is absolutely no point changing our manager.
-
generally Nickh your posts are rational and balanced. Therefor i am surprised that you say the idiot Lowe should move the manager aside. That is insulting as it was the idiot Lowe who appointed the poor guy, i know against a lot of peoples advice. Of course we have financial problems that have neccessitated the need to use our young players. To put in an untried manager at this leval was obviously a totally ridiculous risk and even he may be starting to realse this. He is the one that should go first as he is incapable of leading our club.He is a cancer to football and will end up killing our club, mark my words. And when he has done it he will explain how every one includng us supporters are to blame. So please Nick dont waste any of your sense of fairness on this idiot.
-
sorry, i didnt make my point clear. I dont think Poortvliet is the right manager. At the start of the season i said on this forum that Pearson was the right person and i said that Lowe should note where Leicester are at the end of the season compared to us. What i am saying is we will never have the right manager under the idiot Lowe and it feels wrong attacking a decent guy who through the idiot Lowes incompetence shouldnt have been appointed. Forget every thing except getting the idiot Lowe out as that is our biggest problem.

please leave Poortvliet alone. He is a decent human being. Lowe should never have given him the job and all the time the idiot Lowe is here it s actually rrelevant who our manager is.

Good idea, im sure there is a willingness to take some acton. Its who would lead it etc. We can get Lowe out, and i take NickGs point ie who would replace him but to be honest i dont care, i just want the parasite Lowe gone, what ever the consequences.........
-
i think we should be reporting Lowe to the police for crimes against sfc. ffs.
-
surely there must be something we can do to get Lowe out. For instance could a case be put forward to pick a game and for the real fans simply agree to not turn up. Perhaps with an open letter to our bankers so they may start to feel they should not be dealing with Lowe. Or conversely pick a match and all turn up and sell out St Marys and let our bankers know that if Lowe was gone this could be a regular occurrence. [naive i know but you get my drift] The thing i think we all feel the most at the moment is a sense of uselessness. If we could be coherent and focussed as a group i am sure we could rid of Lowe. Is there any one willing to galvanise what im sure the majority of us want?
-
Lowe will not resign, ever, under any circumstances i can forsee. If he did offer to resign when we were relegated from the premier league he would only have done so if he knew that it would not have been accepted. If we are relegated he will blame Crouch and no doubt Poortvleit. The man has no shame and nothing he does will ever surprise me. his total disregard for the true fans of this once proud club is simply sad. The man is diluded and we will never be successful while he has any involvement with our club. In the mean time, having to be an impotent bystander.......... Come on you reds
-
****, im agreeing with your comment.
-
Well, ive not posted for some time because with Lowe back at the helm and with Lowe starting as he meant to go on, ie by booting out Pearson, it was sadly innevetable where we are heading. Also to post negatively on this forum, you are open to such comments as get behind your team regardless, or what else can he do with finances as they are etc. All very well but what is happening now is so innevetable. Appointing a manager with no proven track record or necessary knowledge of english football at this time was clearly a risk but Lowe knows best, doesnt he. Let me make it clear i have nothing at all against Poortvliet, infact he comes over as a good and likeable guy. I am not interested in the Poortvliet out band wagon. The one sure fact is Lowe will never admit he is wrong, he will only ever blame, iether directly or indirectly and i find it sickening. If Lowe had any decency he would resign and apologise unreservedly for what he has done to our club. He must be working out his excuses for our likely relegation allready, could even he have the kneck to blame the manager again that he appointed??
