I agree with you there, and I love the word plank. Clearly a very clever man but makes some odd decisions, whether they are right or not only time will tell.

Phill Brown just been on talk sport confirming he was interviewed for saints job on Monday. Might explain why every taxi driver in the area saw him.

Cortese has big ambitions for this club and I think he will want a well known, been there done that manager. With a proven manager we should be able to attract better players on loan or transfers in the next window. My bet is either Zola, Mowbray or Keegan. No disrespect to Adkins who I rate, but just putting myself in Cortese shoes and thinking he will go bigger IMO.

Does any one know if Pardew was NC first choice manager when he was appointed last year?

This is just a rumour that I have bheard through members of my family, dont shoot the messenger. I have been hearing for a while now that Dennis Wise and Marc Bircham were being lined up to replace Pards. Naturally I didn't want to believe it but now I thinking there could be some substance. Can't see NC and wiser getting on myself so I am still hoping this is not true.

I just hope that NC sticks to his words and judges AP afetr 18 months. I am convinced that by xmas we will be top or second at worst. In my opinion and NC said it himself when he arrived our club needs stability. I personally think that ML and NC are pleased with what AP has done so far and would want him to completye his project and get us back to the prem. The fact that we are already disscussing player contracts i.e Calderon must be a good sign. AP has built this team and spent a few quid, a new manager would have to start again IMO.

I like the looks of the Tranmere right back, think his name is Bakayogo or somthing like that. Gave our defence a few problems I seem to remember.
