You tend to forget that Adkins is only a "Coach", and when Reed clarified that point, he was looking down his nose. Bit like "Us" and "Them" Based on what Adkins has achieved for us the past two seasons, ie back to back promotions, don't you find it just a little odd that, suddenly. he is shown to be tactilly clueless People just do not change "instantly" like that I am convinced that Adkins is not being allowed to run the team as he would wish "It's all down to me " he says. I think it fair to say that, mainly, the tactics AT KICK OFF TIME are the incorrect ones Big Sam summed it up well by saying that at half time he told his team to close us down quicker, and stop us doinf what we wanted. HIS tactics were logical, and they worked, and I'm not a fan of his. Whoever is in charge at SMS, has got it wrong. They are trying to run without mastering the ability to walk. Is it Cortese, Adkins, or Reed ??? The main question to ask these Three Amigos is ... " Do you want Premiership Football at Southampton ??? " If the answer is " Yes " then the System has to change. It's not a trick, it's simple (to say) You have a Good Quality Consistent WINNING Team, capable of finishing in the Top Six, with European Fixtures every year I'm sure that was Markus Leibherr's Dream, and that is what Cortese is aiming for However, it all takes TIME, and it means fans have to be Loyal throughout the "growing" process

Fair enough, but why has it taken him until NOW to comment on the defence. We've seen how poor it was from Day One It's His team, marshalled by him, and playing to his instructions. If that is not the case, then he's not in charge is he I still reckon we are tainted with the "Reid " influence

I'm of the opinion that he did not have a lot of say. If you recall, there was a point just prior to the close of the window that he was very positive that there were to be 2 signings. By the time the window had closed he was only hopinh for further signings Cue Mr Reid .... Say No More

I get the feeling that Adkins is starting to panic Why do I say this ?? Because it was only AFTER the Fulham game that he comes out and Publicly criticises the Defence ..... (after a very unfortunate OWN GOAL and an equally unfortunate DEFLECTION Why has he criticised them now ?? The defence has been KR*P nearly every match Sorry, but IMHO, ADKINS is the Manager who is responsible for the TEAM, and that team has a Defence as well as an Attack Adkins is responsible for the tactics that the Team plays to. It has been painfully obvious to most that his "systems" of defence organisation IS NOT WORKING It is also painfully obvious that Adkins WON'T change it Playing good attractive Football is great if you have ELEVEN players that can play it. At the moment we don't have a Team capable of that, so, consolidation should be the watchword If he's not prepared to go down that route, then, sorry, but get someone who will Rest assured Cortese will NOT accept relegation as an option

I mostly agree My main gripe is that Adkins seems to make substitutions,( normally at the same point in the match), simply because they are on the bench If the team is losing, then fine, try to change the tactics, but I honestly think he seems to "wrest defeat from the jaws of victory" far many times for my liking From my playing days, I can assure you that if we were winning, then the adrenalin of that was more than enough to allow me to play the full 90 mins. The last thing on my mind was being subbed

I think Adkins has been brainwashed into the same mindset as all the other Managers ie "There are subs on the bench, so, circa 70 mins, must bring some on" WHY ??? If it aint broke, don't fix it As the statistics show, we have "lost" 11 points due to Adkins STUPID substitution policy. I for one am sick of it He is NOT learning from his mistakes and I would be amazed if Cortese has not already drawn up his short list for a replacement This time it will be a foreign Manager IMHO
