After the five years, Katharina then took up the reins, and made it clear to Cortese that further funding was not going to be forthcoming, resulting in all our major players on Top money, with no adequate income coming in Katharina wants "her" ( Leibherr's ) cash outlay back, and the easiest way to do it is to sell the Prime assets, and play with the Academy players. Sound familiar ?? It was tried before and failed, and will do again

True, they are being sold because A) They want an Ambitious Club, and B) The SFC Board are in full control of transfers, and will sanction them as soon as they can Simples

Well, as Ralph Krueger rightly said " We are in control of all transfers " Meaning of course that they will sell anybody for the right price, but they will "control" the sale So he hasn't lied. He just hasn't given ONE "hands off " warning like all other Clubs do But as long as he brings the Southampton Vikings back, all is not lost

Pochettino WAS offered a very similar Salary package. What he was NOT offered was the assurance of Investment (New players to improve the Team) I don't think I am jumping to conclusions. Pochettino is on record that he did not want the Europa League for Saints, but he now has it for Spurs The difference is the Funds to back it up Currently, Spurs don't get gates all that bigger than us. But they will now because their aspirations are bigger than KL and RK We ARE lacking in those same Ambitions and Resources. THAT is the main reason Pochettino has moved on

Salary wise yes But the crux of the matter has always been Investment. Katharina told Pochettino exactly what she told Cortese NO further Investment That is why he has left. Southampton, under Katharina no longer has AMBITION Under her leadership, what had been achieved under Markus's 5 year Project has already started to crumble back into dust I do not think Markus would have wanted that. Thanks to her Non ambition, we have lost 2 very very good people (Cortese and Pochettino) who were driving SFC Forward She is now driving us Backward. Insufficient funds, and a "Project" with NO Ambition So no Manager with Ambition of the calibre of those being touted will even look at us Holloway and Hughton, now those two would jump at the chance. That was the same scenario as for Cortese. She said she tried to keep him, but Failed for the same reason as she has Failed with Pochettino, AMBITION IMHO, Cortese wanted to continue Markus's "dream" of advancing SFC further UP the Football scale, which of course means/meant more INVESTMENT in Quality Players It should be painfully obvious to everybody that those aspirations are NOT shared by Katharina Leibherr That is why Cortese "left", that is why Pochettino is leaving, and that is why Players will follow suit Pochettino is only "in advanced talks" with THFC because SFC gave them permission ( there are Rules that even they have to follow ), so they did not try very hard, or most likely, the New Project offered to Pochettino was just a watered down version of Markus's original Dream Funny thing about Les Reed, I've always said he has the "Albatros" syndrome
