Clubs signing names like Tevez and Ronaldo are not really interested in the quality of the football that they play, but the branding they can generate revenue from.
Then we'll have a discussion on here about how the new owners should think ahead and order enough beer in advance and not run out which would obviously be disgraceful
Logistically getting the beer in wouldn't work either as every line (which are different to the larger ones so would need replacing- as would the gas which is 70/30 rather than 60/40 and requires a different system) needs cleaning between barrels and each barrel needs to settle for between 24 - 48 hours without being moved before serving (the time depending on the brew). Not to mention a barrel of lager costs about £40 less so the club would never make a good enough GP to make it feasible. By all mean get a good lager but you won't get a decent real ale in a football ground served properly as the GP wouldn't make sense and it's a real skill to create the right conditions for ale to taste good (meaning paying more staff costs for real staff...)
As a publican I can safely say from the taste of the beer there that they never clean the beer lines at St Marys (This should be done at least once a week), if the pint taste funny don't drink them as the bacteria from inside the lines will give you a nasty stomach (the ****s).
The signings that were made by Lowe through Prost may not have been done by JP, but Prost has always been a reliable coach in terms of his judgement in the past, so why does it matter...?
I'll drive from down from London and take him there, it's only a one time drive, compaired to the 20 trips stuck on the M3 for indefinate hours I might have to make to watch him play if I didn't.
