Saints staying in the same Hotels before a games
craigthesaint replied to BTW Saint's topic in The Saints
Stayed a couple of times before at the Hilton in Croydon before Crystal Palace games and on one occasion under George Burley, he and his training staff were still boozing it up when I went to bed at midnight with a table full of bottles of wine and Becks. Also during the day outside the hotel I was chatting with Kenwyne Jones & Ricardo Fuller, where as Jones was polite and very intriged by my mobile phone??? Fuller was making it quite clear what he thought of us Saints fans....... The other occasion was at The Mercury in Exeter in Poortvliets' era where they aere at the hotel prior to the game and I had a good chat with him and he talked a lot of sense and seemed a top guy, shame that he was out of his depth a bit with club spirralling downwards. -
Well there will be one definite change tomorrow as Butterfield did not travel with the team this morning due to a thigh injury picked up in training so we may get our first proper viewing of Richardson who I am told looks the part on the training ground so really looking forward to seeing him if he starts.

The only positive from today is that we are still only 4 points off the top 6 and 7 off of 2nd place but that is still clutching a bit. Bad day for us today but as Adkins has said that it will be a rollercoaster ride and therefore today was the bit that we don't enjoy on his ride.

Exactly what i heard from someone based over at Staplewood but like yourself Huffton I didn't want to say anything as you know what happens to those that stick their head above the parapit.... The only thing about what i was told was it is not exactly clear when he handed it in as I got told about him handing it in last Sunday but my contact didn't know whether that was pre/post Adkins?

My post on the HCDAJFU thread on the 26th about Zola staying at the same hotel as Guly may not of been 2+2=5 but more 2+2=4............... We shall see i suppose but the sacking was certainly out the blue as my contact at Staplewood only found out at 8.30 this morning too but had suggested to me on more than one occasion over the past 2 weeks that in their opinion Zola would be coming in if Pardew didn't get the right results but with Guly saying about Zola being at the same hotel as him it could possibly be a done deal.

Spoke to my contact late last night and he trained 2 days with us and wasn't at Staplewood yesterday. Both my contact and i don't know how transfers go but as i said in my original post he has had a medical but then so did Vassell over 2 weeks ago so i guess it's down to Cortese to sort out a deal if AP wants him and whether we can can offer the deal to get the player to come here. I should know a bit more tomorrow as for some reason sunday mornings down at Staplewood are normally when information is easier for her to come by but she has said they(players and management) should be all in tomorrow as she has to work. I will let you know if there any developments tomorrow afternoon he i get a call. COYR -

Really funny as he didn't elborate on what day/nights that he was there he just said he was staying there, that could of been yesterday, the day before, the day before that, etc,etc but again as i pointed out his english isn't brilliant and did also say 2+2=5 nothing else. -

Should get a phone call about Gonzalez in the morning and if there is more worth knowing i shall post it here. Just for a bit of fun too my contact was speaking with Guly today while he was waiting for his lift and although his English isn't perfect he made it quite clear that Zola was also staying at the same hotel as he is!!!!!! Make of this what you will..........2+2=5 i think but interesting never the less. -

I've had it on good authority that a lad called David Gonzalez from Las Palmas has been training with the squad today and has had a medical. He has not signed though but it sounds like it could be one we're seriously looking at. She also tells me that Vassell had a medical over a week ago and his signing is well RUMOURED to be on the cards but if it's not him then someone else othe than this Gonzalez will be. -
New training ground/players v cheapo ST in installments

I couldn't agree more and as i posted on another thread working on a Wing ticket scenario any non season ticket holder who goes to 15 games out of the total 23 home games and buys the ticket from the ticket office in advance will pay £330 (£2 more than the cost of a renewel season ticket in the same area). No brainer really it's just the way the club have announced it late and left little time for people to find the money that stinks but you can be sure if we are in the top 2 then the 15 game break even costs for a supporter will be surpasssed by the 09/10 season ticket holders that did not renew and the club will make more fom them anyway. -
Although i am lucky enough to be able afford to pay out right i think that the club are wrong in what they are doing but if you look at it from a business angle which unfortunately they will and i use my situation as an example you can see that the owners are being very cute. IE My renewel will be £328 = £14.26 per game if i didn't buy a season ticket for whatever reason and went to 15 games and pruchased my ticket from the ticket office in advance that would = £330 so in a season where the club and us the supporters are expecting success you can see that the likelyhood is that even with the club upsetting a large percentage of existing season ticket holders they will make more money this way as long as those that did not buy a season ticket outright attend a minimum of 15 games which lets be honest whether we like it or not you probably will if at the end of October, December, February be going to the games if we are top/second and will therefore more than likely do the 15 game threshold.

Ticket office staff were talking about while queuing today. Ah bless the trainees letting something like that slip for our amusement.

Just heard that Saints are not releasing the tickets to the skates until they've paid up front for them. Hilarious, could there actually be any skates at St Marys if they're still going when we're due to play

sorry guys can't tell you anymore than what i posted above but i said i'd ring him tomorrow about something else so i'll question him a bit more then. Saint stevo in reply to your final statement i can only think that he (Wotte) has obviously answered the questions that my mates dad posed but rather than giving solid definite answers to a fan i can only assume they were answered giving reassurances with a bit more foundation as they are coming from someone who should know what's going on but obviously can't say too much. And Trousers I don't know how the Red Bull bit come about, maybe wotte bought my mates dad a Vodka and .......
-
I've just had a call from my mates old man who was speaking to Wotte down at Hamble week tonight and Wotte was not overly forth coming with information but he did say that Mark Fry has give him all indications that a takeover will be completed and announced by the weekend and hinted quite heavily that Red Bull have something to do with it. My mates old man felt that Wotte was trying to give off the impression that he never knew a great deal but reckoned (and understandably so) he knows a great deal more but didn't want to say too much.

Administrator statement on official site now and it doesn't sound promising from a pinnacle angle but there is a glimmer of light regarding an overseas interest which the administrator is waiting to hear back from early next week that have the funds to complete. But then so did pinnacle !!
