The most important thing this summer was thinning the over fat squad, that's done; the two signings are very good and if young Oxlade'Chamberlian is going to get a look in that will encourage the rest that they have a chance and that buy buy buy is not the only way. Our Development facility is going to bring forward more of our own. Don't panic!

I hope you are repaid by the sheer fun and enjoyment of leading a club made great again, then we will all be happy. It's the miracle I longed for! And bless NC for all the donkey work.

FFS do you ever stop bleating on and on and on. People go to football to watch a good game, support thier team and hopefully win. Absolutely nothing else effects the amount of people turning up each week. The Ted Bates trophy is an insignificant pre season warm up nothing more. Ted Bates himself is remembered by the fans themselves not through statues or named tounaments. If you truely beleive that Ted bates and his memory is the cornerstone of the club then you will remember him in your heart no in a frigging statue of game against fc whoever Well said!

We don't want many new players, we needed to get rid of a good few and we're doing it. Too many players not getting a game is bad for training and morale. Isn't 18 real first team contenders enough? And I reckon we've got 17.....
-
The good thing about this summer compared with all the recent ones is that we don't depend on freebies and we don't want many new faces, we want to get rid if the last of the old ones. I would like a midfield general and that's about all, oh a RB of course.

They would let down the customers if they produced the sort of football we've suffered ever since we left the Premiership, they would let down the customers if we had a failing Academy and no future plans, they would let down the customers if they sold our best players. Instead they are making sure those days are over, three cheers!
-
Marcus and Cortese haven't got where they are by letting down or ignoring their customers, they've got where they are by providing what the customers need, so what is the point of this thread?

Mine doesn't recognise me, what is a sub-forum, excuse ignorance

The Boy's block (9d old money) where we sang 'Down the Middle for Charlie' in the Wayman years

Do you think this Hampshire team cares?

Thank the Lord NC is tough resolute determined and in charge, with the shambolic mess of bitter rivalries that he inherited we needed it so cheer up and be thankful it's going fine.
-
I feel protective of Harding, probably because I'm old enough to remember Nick Holmes and he reminds me of him, we never had better year in year out
-
Second criteria must be that they are young enough and capable of taking us thro' the leagues
-
Was Fonte there, and why didn't he play?
-
The ultimate right back was Bill Ellerington in his day (I think he is still at most matches) closely followed by Alf Ramsey, if this guy half amtches either of those two we'll he ok, roll on next season!
-
The bad news was that ML missed the last match of course he would be unhappy after all he has put into the Club. The good news is that at last we have a manager that we want to keep, protect and appreciate. What a great season, let the rumour guys swallow their tongues and then use their brains.
-
Do you get the feeling none of them are much bothered, not much money in the Championship, maybe they follow the chairman and are just waiting for the 20/20 sloggerama

This thread may not be as exciting as ones about who we may sign in the summer but I reckon it's just as important. These lapsed contracts give AP a much-needed chance to clear out the last of the old sick regime and develop his smaller better tighter squad. We need Bart while Papa, Antonio and Connolly are part of the new but the rest will not be missed. Be nice if there was a coaching place for Perry or Murty
-
Thank goodness there is a choice for top players this year, I reckon there's at least six or seven worthies, last year and the year before it was job to think of any outfield player who had done a thing, means its been a great season, my vote goes to AP for bringing them all in and playing together
-
Yes, great post, I have enjoyed the season like nothing for tweny years or more I can't wait for each match and now for next season, I love the players again - and believe in them. The unity from top to bottom (that's us) has been such a relief but why oh why did Lawrie Mac opt out and miss it all? shame really.

Its not only the Android appointment that is a bit questionable, why has he appointed Lampitt CEO of Pompey when he was the FA chief investigator of Pompey?

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

Its just as important to get rid of a few, its easy to have more than can be trained and more than have a chance of playing then troubles start in the camp. I hope we lose seven and sign two, young RB and midfield cover to train up for the Premiership is enough.
