There's a lot of fuss about Papa on this thread, suddenly people wish he was here, but my memory is of him being slated on this forum and barracked at matches even to the extent of songs against him.

He's always in the action, never a minute off the ball, it makes his mistakes more noticeable but he's a dynamo and when he comes good they will all come good so we need him.

I was there today and I'm an old 'un who goes back to Ted Bates Charlie Wayman in the postwar years and I want to say that I have never felt more proud of the club than today, it was all carried off with respect and dignity and a lot of love, in particular when that Under 15 lad read that piece I thought 'we've got a family club again' and he read it like a scholar and without a nerve, if he plays football like that, we're in for a treat. I just hope critics will come round to accept that NC who was there as a deep mourner now needs every support he can get as we all do after a bereavement.

I have to drive from Sherborne but I'll be there but I'm retired so its easy.Funerals are always a problem for working people so there may not be a huge crowd, everyone will have their chance Saturday, hope the ground will be full.

He gave us new life and we gave him a day he hugely enjoyed at Wembley, so it's not all gloom; also I am confident his family will want a sort of memorial for him and it will be our club, and his grandchildren will come over sometimes and love it!

As a fan I have no wish to help run the club and I'm more than thankful none of the people on this forum have the chance to do so and that they are kept well out of it. My role is to support the Club and people on this forum have lost sight of that, complaining and *****ing when we've so much to celebrate, they must be very unhappy people.

If so passionate for the club, why stir the brown stuff when the Club is rising from the dead and giving a lot of pleasure after years of gloom?
