It was Millwall away, getting those TWO penalties in the last five mins turned no points into three! I started to believe
-
What? We'll be on the way home by then
-
We're in good hands, the forward planning has been going on much longer than Reading's three weeks. We'll never know the details and it's better that way.
-
Oxo would have done it
-
If Guly rushes around all over the place, even if he's like a headless chicken, some critics will be happy that he's making an effort and not being lazy. He's a Brazilian! they just don't play that way, get used to it!

I hope the City is making a commemoration (I know the new maritime museum is being opened that day with a Titanic memorial display) and I expect the local churches will mark the day and there are already five Titanic memorials in the city which will doubtless receive wreaths, the football club really doesn't need to do anything, it's not a church and it isn't home to any of the memorials

I never understood why Harry, in the relegation season, signed five rubbish guys in January including his own son, and left KP on the bench. I didn't like KP but I understand why he didn't think much of his time here, a pity because he was local
-
Diouf has the same impact on team mates as Joey Barton---diabolical, thank the Lord and NC that we haven't any prima donna showmen like them on our bus
-
One big thing the OP missed in his 'perfect club' analysis: the club's charitable foundation has raised a million pounds this year and now supports 35000 local people in one way or another, that is just what top clubs should do, and makes me even more proud. Whatever NC critics say (if there are any left) he has turned our club round at every level.

Are we still unpleasant club to deal with?
Dellman replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
Journalists as a breed think they have right of access to everyone and every place whether it is convenient or not, if our club is standing up to them and insisting it is on our terms that will not be popular with them but it's certainly popular with me! -
Yes, that 48-9 season scarred me for life (I was14) but the difference is that in those days we had a team, now we've got a squad, when Charlie Wayman was injured there was no cover, we had to bring in the reserve left back Bobby Veck to play centre forward
-
What's happened to CBFry, he used to be the biggest moaner a sort of Alpine and Charlie Wayman, if he's joining the believers we must be doing well
-
With every post the odds are increasing that he will miss the next one
-
We've been moaning because we thought the squad needed strengthening, now its been strengthened we have to understand we can't have 16 on the pitch at the same time, so they'll all be bench warmers at some time. Get used to it. And be happy about it!
-
Burley? Yes, we do owe Burley thanks--for taking the Scotland job. Where is he now by the way?
-
It's Hammers who need to be worried by Reading, they're more likely to drop out of the top two than we are, and their fans know it, have a look at their site they'v got the jitters and they don't think much of Fat Sam
-
West Ham are still panicking, I prefer our calmer style in the market

Channon played in a great winning team for a lot of his time, MLT in a team facing relegation (and just avoiding it) year after year that's why he has become more of a legend, besides you have to be a certain age to even remember Mike Channon
-
Remember how our Antti Niemi sat on their bench for half a season, never played, but walked away 750k better off, well done that man!
-
If we play 44 games each because Pompey survive, that will be a level playing field for all. If we play 42 games each because Pompey have gone that will be a level playing field for all. What's the problem?

There was an amazing day when Saints went away to Man City in the Cup and won, 5-1 I think. At that time Man C were the big name and Saints had been in lower leagues. It was the first time Terry Paine made his mark in the big time. I wasn't there because not many people travelled away in those days but I remember the match was a sensation at the time.
-
I'm old enough to remember the excitement of the days when Paine and Sydenham emerged as great goalmakers with Reeves and later O'Brien to put the ball in the net--more than 100 goals in one season! For excitement that team of young local stars and later the team of old international stars that McM built must be top of my list but the OP asked about squad which is different from exciting stars and I would think for dedication, professionalism and team spirit this squad is as good as any if not better.

Why so much about KK how many games did he play befre he bunked off?
-
The last two years have been so cheering and the prospects for the next two years are so full of hope that closure has been achieved in one way. But what is closure? I will never forget the misery and bitterness of seeing a broken club with everyone at war with each other and relegations following each other with us powerless to do anything about it. Those memories are there but I'm cheerful again, so I'm not sure whether I've had closure or not.

If Robt Green is good enough for England then so is Kelvin. The trouble is it's a sad day if Green is good enough or Carson
