Some people talk of Robinson in the came breath as Freidel and Given, no thank you, what we have is better and fitter than fat Robinson. And why Butland? its experience we need not youth, Gazza will be as good as Butland given a little bit of time

I think Ian Black's death leaves Bill Ellerington as the only one of the post war side still alive. Funny because Ellerington got pneumonia and retired early not fully fit, he must now be 90 and was a regular at all home matches until recently. As for Ian Black he was my hero but when Dodgin left as manager and went to Fulham Black followed which is common nowadays but was considered a terrible let down in those days. He was never quite as good at Fulham as he had been with us which is probably why he only got one cap. Should have stayed with us!

Club Policy on the Communication of Player Injuries
Dellman replied to HornseySaintsFan's topic in The Saints
I doubt AL knows, I doubt the manager knows, I doubt the medical team know, these things vary; a guess is as near as they'll get and its not a good idea to feed guesses to the public IMHO -
He just runs around a lot and looks busy, that's it

Now we've got Punch we don't need Oxo anyway, so Gaston's the man!
-
Its because NC picks the team
-
I wouldn't call Dann realistic. If we buy we want to improve the squad not just look for any other
-
Is the club expected to conduct its negotiations in public for the sake of fans, thank goodness we are now properly run and the only people ITK are those directly concerned. I'm happy to await the outcome NC and NA have already achieved more with Jason P than anyone could have imagined a year ago

In the 'window' we need to sell as much as buy, having a load of staff with no hope of playing is not good for anybody, or for the bank balance

Are we finally in a position to keep our youngsters?
Dellman replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Back to the original question, yes, but we must keep in the Premiership if we're ever to fulfil the top ambition and hold the young stars from now on. Its not only holding them, first we have to produce them, we know about Shaw and JWP but are there more in the pipeline? -
The first Ted statue was hilarious in one way and an acute embarrassment in another, what beats me is how it ever got to the point of being accepted and unveiled. It shows that the Club at the time was in a broken state on and off the pitch, not fit for purpose. That's what we've come from and in a short time COYR

why do his kids need f**king schooling, isn't schooling enough? I don't get modern English

It's easy to forget chaos caused by three warring rival chairmen two relegations and an Administration which took us to the point of ruin. At that time loads of fans were calling for heads to be banged together and a fresh start with out any of them. that's what we got, weren't we lucky (look down the road) Of course the people who got displaced are peeved and all the other gravy boaters, but we've again got a Premiership club to be proud of.

Boruc is overweight, he couldn't get off the ground at corners and crosses, needs a good diet before we see him again
-
Against WBA on Monday he was fouled and stayed on his feet and the commentator said if he'd gone down we'd have got a penalty...
-
He won't last two matches where ever he plays
-
sorry to say this is spot on...AL great club man, hope he stays for ever but captain's job is different and not his scene at all. Truth is in the present mess who else is there?

Summary of Nigel's Post-Match interview after Leeds
Dellman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
NA says NC will do what's best for the Club..NA and NC both value stability...most fans, even the critical ones, seem to think NA is a 'top bloke' so why not give him a 5 year contract that would end the speculation and let him get on with the job and the players and fans know know where they stand -
Boruc? I was looking forward to seeing him but I was disappointed. Overweight , he couldn't get off the ground for any crosses and didn't control the 6yd area at all, old Kelvin and young Gazza have both done better than that

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
Dellman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
'arry will be behind bars before he joins saints -
NA style of management is the style of the future there is no way NC will go back to old fashioned management, he is building more than a team, he is building a club from grass roots up and my opinion is he will stick with NA even if we are relegated. Hope I am right.

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
Dellman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Our club had been decaying for years and was on then point of collapse with a load of warring factions helping to kill it. We needed a really tough no-nonsense leader to bang their heads together and give a fresh start. To my amazement and great pleasure that dream came true and we avoided the fate of them down the road, it's time MLT celebrated the success and stopped the moaning. And I was his number one fan and cried at his Testimonial because we would never see his like again---on the field. But off the field he's a bit of a mug. -
Absolutely spot on, we need reminding

I wonder why FF goes through the whole team and leaves out Ward-Price as if he wasn't there..MoM for me and certainly the brightest prospect in a very bright bunch
