Somebody told Lowe that Fourpast was the next Gordon Banks and that was all he needed to know
-
Barry must be such an unhappy man, after the amazing almost unique success of the Liebherr/Cortese years and our complete revival and restoration to the top league he is still moaning, what will make him happy?
-
Haven't seen a ball bowled yet but I'd like to know how the wktkeeper that replaced Bates is getting on, I've seen his batting scores which are reasonable but how is his wicket keeping compared with our own youngster, because that can make a big difference to the bowlers
-
Luke Shaw is the first signing I want, after that the fellow called Astori who was talked about in January would be good. Then we need a dashing sort of centre forward becos our Rickie ain't going to be big goal scorer next season and I've got big doubts about Lallana holding a regular place too
-
Yes I was there but memories of the game are hazy, nothing to do with alcohol, it was all just a blur but I remember driving home on the motorway and people crowding every bridge to wave and cheer each car, as if we'd won it ourselves, and that's what it felt like.

I feel so sorry for Alpine. Saints have had a wonderful three years, an amazing recovery after the years of decline and the poor chap is still moaning and miserable and complaining, oh dear, how sad--why can't he be thankful and give some credit for all the excitement and fun we've enjoyed?
-
Ricky and Adam both truly great servants of our club but I can't see either of them as first choice starters too often next season. It's just no good discussing the captaincy until we know who we sign in the summer.
-
I don't think he has been punished at all, he will earn (no, receive) £3million before he kicks a ball again, it's Liverpool that are punished, he has a long holiday. that's not right.
-
Will someone please explain something to me...does the 10 match suspension mean the player loses his pay, or is he still fully paid for having a very long holiday? In which case the club is punished not the player. Excuse ignorance.
-
While we're trying to sign Connolly we might as well go for Woodgate as well
-
I never thought much of him first half of the season but something has brought the best out of him, suppose it must be MP that's what managers are paid do, well done NC for a daring appointment which I didn't approve but I do now!

Wayne Bridge second on F365's list of overcapped England players
Dellman replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Bridgey chose to follow the money, understandable, but it meant making a career of the bench. Hope the same doesn't happen to Luke Shaw or any of our new youngsters -
Who would have thought this a year ago? Who would have wanted it a year ago? It's a triumph of management skills I never saw coming and fair play to Punch he's shown what he can do and that he really is on the bus (the bus stayed when Nigel went didn't it?)

but we've got others...the day we carried off a trOphy at Wembley the day we got out of Div 1`and the day we got into the PREMIERSHIP...AND MORE TO COME!

'Constant Paine' by David Bull, 'It's all about a ball' by Alan Ball, 'Home and Away' by Mike Channon, 'Cult Heroes' by Jeremy Wilson and of course 'Dell Diamond' about our Ted and Ron Reynolds 'Life of a 1950s footballer'.
-
We signed him when we were in another league (like Sharp) and we've just moved up a couple gears without them, its tough on them both. I wish them both the very best where ever they go but I can't see a way in here
-
Excuse ignorance but how many Saints are out on loan, seems like dozens, they'll have to be one helluva sort out when the season ends
-
Have we got over it? the point is the players have obviously got over it, so we are mugs if we haven't
-
KK didn't stay with us long, in fact he's never stayed anywhere long. NC has already been with us longer than KK
-
Yes, but even Sir Alf lost his place in Saints team to Bill Ellerington so Golac might come in third
-
I doubt it and I hope not. He is one of our squad the others who have been loaned were fringe (exc De Ridder). We have top training facilities and new coaches, JWP needs all that
-
One of our problems is we can no longer guarantee a regular first team place to anyone (eg Ramirez was left on the bench by NA) and not too many people want to risk bench warming
-
When was 'our club' really our club? I've been supporting ever since the war and never had any input to any managerial decisions and wouldn't expect to
-
Lawrie Mac has managed to forget that when he was appointed no onehad heard of him, he was from Grimsby (I think) and his only job had been failure at Doncaster, if my distant memory is correct. He is from another age
-
MLT must have an ego and isn't that a good thing? He could never have played the way he did without arrogant confidence in his own ability. But off the pitch he's not so bright (Pinnacle fiasco, that book and the constant carping about NC) So thank the Lord he is not in charge of the admin and we've got someone with ego, vision and money who is
