  1. I doubt its much to do with the players character or intelligence there have been times when they have shown plenty of both. The problem is the mentality of the management insisting on possession football and all the square balls, back passes and little tap taps in triangles that go with it--end product, lose 1-0 and bore the pants off every viewer
  2. Exactly right and I've been watching Saints since the war ended! And for most of that time we have had prolific goalscorers, a whole succession of 'greats' beginning with Charlie Wayman and Eric Day. When we had bad spells it was because we had defence troubles. I wonder how many times we have scored 70+ in a season. We will struggle to get 30 this season and most of them from defenders or free kicks.
  3. Regards Mane--fans were just pleased to get rid. Some said on this forum they would be pleased to 'drive him up there'

    Ruben Selles

Sounds like you think we ought to be more aggressive and on the front foot
  5. Well done Walcott, he deserves it, we needed him
  6. Liverpool? isn't that the last game? I hope we are either safe or down before that match
  7. Abuse of Sadio continued till he left. Our 'fans' are cruel. No wonder we have worst home record
  8. The old idea of 'never change a winning team' seems to have died with the development of 'squads' who all have to be kept involved. it isn't helping us.
  9. While we were scoring nothing again Nathan Tella was scoring another hat trick for Burnley. what does our management make of that?

    Ruben Selles

Agreed, but the real fault lies with the people who had the insane idea of appointing him in the first place.

Why do you pretend to know these things? You said much the same about Cortese. Do you like anyone--the Welsh guy probably
  12. If we are relegated the 'dead wood' will cling to their contracts and stay, sucking us dry. The talented youngsters will be off in a flash. That's the way of relegation. But don't panic! We're going to stay up by beating Liverpool on the last day of the season.
  13. I didn't mention any salary figure neither did I say anything about 'good egg'. your words, why put them into my mouth?
  14. Fortunately you are not the judge. Neither am I, but I would be happy to see Theo retained in any capacity within the Club, preferably with a playing role. Can't understand some people's hostility
  15. Don't understand dislikeable. Is it just because they have lost a lot lately? I feel I don't know them well, so many new faces at once. I never used to think 'now who is that?' but I don't dislike any of them, well, Bednarek has made himself a bit of a problem but its a sad thing to write the lot off as dislikeable, they are ours

Yes we have but what makes anyone think Selles is the man to do it?
  17. Send for Cortese, he'll sort it
  18. What is Cortese doing these days? He would get things organised
  19. YES that team looks good on paper. A lot of very good players. But as a team it doesn't work. Something deeply wrong with the coaching because everyone is under performing. They look like strangers to each other
  20. Selles has seen what's been going on all season, good and bad. Any new face would have none of that advantage and there's not enough time left for a new guy to learn it Pity Selles wasn't given the chance when RH left....all that World Cup break wasted
  21. How many games? And who has the Club record?
  22. I was at Terry Paine's 800th game for Saints, thought that was the record
  23. Yes, he's had a tough baptism in Premier League, deserves and needs fans support

Having a successor to the Clown who can actually speak sensibly and with optimism is a good start. We must get behind him and the team. there ins still hope
