  1. Hope they go down
  2. I remember going to Forest in the Cup, they scored in the 89th minute and while their goaly was crazy celebrating 'victory' Terry Paine lobbed a long shot (like Che's first goal) and we drew 1-1. In the Dell replay we were 0-3 down with twenty minutes to go and incredibly drew 3-3. In the next replay (White Hart Lane) half So'ton had made the journey and the turnstiles couldn't cope with the crowds, by the time I got in we were already 3-0 up. I think we won 5-0. I think we reached the semi final that year and lost to Man u 0-1. It was the year of the big freeze
  3. We can hope! It will be the most popular relegation ever
  4. Do you realise the window is closed
  5. Managerial changes after a few defeats gives players the power. Thank goodness we have a wiser Board in spite of rantings on this site. We needed stability and time for the long term plan. The dross is at last cleared out. The stronger and younger squad is shaping well. These things don't happen in five minutes or even in a few 'windows' especially when it has to be done without funding. The plan is bearing fruit, let Newcastle, Spurs throw some money around and probably Everton and Villa before long. Ever heard of the tortoise and the hare?
  6. Good to read a bit of appreciation for the management team, to strengthen the squad the way they have on a nothing budget is smart work. I prefer our style to splashing big money on stars with attitude.
  7. Its the custom on this site to attack our own players,
  8. He's not the match winner he once was and he's not the game-changer we would like but he has adapted his game and if he plays to suit the way the manager has set up the team, that's fine by me, just different from what some people expected.
  9. I don't get the hatred for Walcott, just jealousy because he's done well and made a fortune and not with us? He remains the only player to have scored premier league goals in 14 (or is it 15?) consecutive seasons, a record that will probably never be equalled, let's hope he bangs in another this season and extends the record. I am a supporter. If the manager picks a player, back him 100%
  10. Half the things on this site are potentially libel or slander, I suppose it helps people get rid of a load of hate
  11. No thank you, he isn't that good as the last years have proved. He wouldn't get as much out of this squad as RH does, and he'd always be looking for the next move. He thinks he's the bees knees and he isn't.
  12. It wasn't after one game that the experts on here told us he was a wasted signing, it was before he had put the shirt on, it was before he had landed in the country. That's what our 'fans' do to newcomers who need a bit of support.
  13. Pigs are extremely clean animals
  14. No we are not all bewildered. I, for one, think he is the best hope in the No 10 role, until Stu is fully fit.
  15. I would be happy for Newcastle to have him. Get him out of our hair and diminish N'castle's chances. But it won't happen, he' doesn't like the north and the north wouldn't like him--but it would be fun for the rest of us.
  16. I joined this Forum because I thought I was joining Saints fans. its really sad there is so much hostility, bitterness, criticism of our own players. The worst was the treatment of Sadio Mane---now he's scored a hundred goals for somebody else. Now its Mo E and Redders and of course JWP. He may be the captain and been here since a boy and given his all year after year but still can't win the 'fans'. I wonder any of them stay. I actually like my team
  17. Didn't seem like a fiasco to lose Bertrand and Vesty and we've rep;laced them with better. Ings was a blow but you can't force someone to sign and he is at the end of his career anyway, we are happier with young ones.
  18. Good job the Board has more faith in Ralph than fans on this forum, perhaps it is because they understand the restraints he is working under, not a pot to piss in as the saying goes! Well done Ralph, we are getting better every match. Only one bad performance (Wolves) this season.Keep up the good work!
  19. Yes, we have to sell to buy, but look how much stronger we are for recent buys...Salisu, Livramento, Perraud, Diallo are big upgrades on what we had. It is only Ings who hasn't been upgraded--yet. Great credit to manager and Board to improve the squad without money. Compare how much Eddie Howe spent--and got relegated. Why do some want him? maybe he wants us, but that's a different story.
  20. We play well, win the match and have another thread about sacking the manager. Sometimes I can't make any sense of our fanbase.
  21. Is it that some successful people want to promote a macho image of 'be strong and untouchable'
  22. Yes we have had some great players, a good case could be made for Terry Paine, alongside MLT being the greatest of them all, and he's often missing from these lists, that really surprises me.
  23. It has green spaces, children's area and sports facilities right through: The Parks, The Common, the Sports Centre, not bad!
  24. JWP and Foden ran the mid field and sprayed passes long and short, good combination.
  25. Well said! I've been going to Saints games even longer-1946, with Ted Bates and Alf Ramsey and Ian Black in goal so I am used to many struggles and some triumphs. In those Third Division days (50s) we would not have believed we would be in the top tier for ten years running and reach five semi finals. For a Club which has never had the fashion, the fame or the financial backing others have had, we've done brilliantly. Somehow, in spite of all the unbelievable changes and the boon of billionaire ownership for the few--we still hang in there and compete with the best. Be proud and lets fully back players and manager and Board, what they have achieved is truly remarkable.
