  1. Lyanco will give away a penalty, I feel it my bones, and we draw
  2. Don't agree. Broja is over rated on this forum. His work rate is limited, AAs is not. Broja is frequently anonymous for long periods, AA is not. Broja has flashes of power and even of brilliance and I hope he matures to become star but overall AA contributes more at present.
  3. Well, if you don't rate Ralph it was true wasn't it. But be serious, is any top manager going to come to a club that is skint?
  4. He's still managed to get rid of other manager's mistakes and build a stronger squad without any help from the owners
  5. Don't forget Pompey signed him
  6. Second half failures have become a habit. I sat there listening to Radio Solent's praise of the first half superiority and the excellent display and I just knew there would be a second half collapse. If games ended at half time we'd be somewhere near the top. I don't understand how games can change so dramatically but it has become a habit.
  7. Agree with the sentiments. how often have we seen money flashed, stars bought followed by massive dressing room unrest and stars unable or unwilling to play the manager's way. We are emerging from a negative period but present management team have a policy which is beginning to bring rewards, and to have done it without owner's investment is a rare achievement, thank you RH Crocker and Semmens and what a laugh if we reach midtable and Newcastle go down!
  8. Who said Vesty, Bertrand and Ings were our best players? They were all nearer the end than the beginning and had all had injury problems and on current form none of then would get in today's Saints team

    Che Adams

No thank you for Danny, we had his best years and they are over, we are on a new page now.

    Che Adams

Che is a workhorse first and a goalscorer second and at present he is doing both well.
  11. Howe to Newcastle and Smith to Norwich makes me even more thankful for our current managerial stability
  12. And I will give you another..Sadio Mane
  13. It is possible to 'buy for the future' and that is what we are doing rather well. Not every buy has to be first team instantly, that's what we have coaches for.
  14. He was barracked and rubbished, he was the scapegoat who got the Redmond treatment. It was embarrassing
  15. The funny thing is that fans seem to be keener on new owners than the Board. Semmens, Crocker and Ralph seem to have managed well and improved the squad without any cash input. Once an owner puts in cash he expects a say in how everything is run. Sometimes big cash causes all sorts of trouble: ownership interference, player jealousy and rivalry, new wage structure, the 'wrong' sort of player attracted. We are doing quite well as we are. New owners might upset the applecart.
  16. And if he left, what sort of a manager will we get who is willing to work with no investment? We're lucky to have someone apparently happy to work within limitations not normal in the top tier. This is a big factor
  17. I think (and hope) that Ralph likes the idea of living on a shoe string. It makes the Club buy young and cheap and gives the manager the job of coaching and improving youngsters. That's what he likes and does well, the idea of buying big and coping with egos to match doesn't appeal to him. That's my impression and that's why I think he is pleased to have Crocker on board with the same plan. He'll stay-- in spite of so many of our own fans rubbishing him.
  18. Its taken three years to get rid of the dead wood who should never have been here and who made no contribution. Now they've gone and Ralph is at last getting his own squad together and they look very good to me, I am looking forward to the next three years and I trust Ralph will enjoy the fruits of his labours with us.
  19. An American owner is sure to be in it for his profit. Full stop.
  20. I hope this is a joke

    Danny Ings

No way back for Ings, his day has come and gone, we've moved in to another era, Villa will have to pick up the pieces.
  22. WE spent money in the wrong areas and we are only now getting over it. Recent buys have been good and so this is the time for Ralph to reap the reward, not the time for him to move to Villa and go through the same long process all over again.
  23. Before he retires at this rate
  24. What makes Villa think they can have our Ralph if they want him? they may get the same reply JWP gave them. We will never find another manager as willing to work with no investment and still able to improve the team
  25. I am just thankful Ralph has been given the time to get rid of other people's unwanted baggage and replace with young talent he can coach into his style. It's happening!
