  1. And who suggested we buy back the shares then scummer? It was the only part of the AGM where the audience got the administrator to count the votes as by show of hands the board was out numbered. It may well not have been Ruperts money, but why the hell did Southampton football club need to buy back shares? I questionned Rupert & he got Andrew Cowan to answer who fluffed & puffed his way through to say absolutely nothing. It is a big a disgrace now as it was then. IMMORAL!
  2. I dont think Rupert would be happy to dilute his share holding. Mind you we would have been £1.4m better off if Rupert had not bought back shares Share Buybacks May 2002 400,000 @ 35p = £140,000 June 2002 2,746,153 @ 30p = £823,845 Oct 2002 1,120,000 @24p = £268,800 Sept 2004 450,000 @ 44p = £198,000 TOTAL - £1,430,645 At the AGM Lowe suggested it was to support the share price. And people believe that he is a sound business man! Beggers belief!
  3. So why did we give him a 3 year contract then?
  4. Yep - Lets just accept it happens to football clubs & move on.................WHAT? Why do we have to accept it? It was Lowes ineptitude on so many levels that took us down & I have to sit here & accept him make similar mistakes again & keep my gob shut & blindly follow the team? Sorry mate. I was bought up to question things that i did not understand or did not agree with. We did NOT have to go down! I can still see Lowe on MOTD on the evening we beat Blackburn at home 3-2 saying that Luggy was not getting the sack. Arrogant as ever - zero integrity. Strachan saying he was going to get a hip replacement. He never did.
  5. WTF is going on at SFC? Where is the logic of giving a guy a 3 year contract then sending him on loan? Mind you we gave Wotton a 3 year contract as well!!!?????
  6. The one thing i will give Wilde credit for is coming up with his own money to buy into the club. Crouch also. Lowe was rewarded for relegating this club with the option to buy shares from the income he derived from being chairman. Come on Rupert - SHOW US YOUR MONEY!
  7. Comes to something when we can not even keep our loan players from going elsewhere. Some will say it is all about the Watford coach, maybe? But if that is the case can JP & MW tap up some of the huge talent they coached in Holland to come here please.
  8. Molyneux is a left full back mate not a centre half.
  9. Everton season ticket holding client of mine says Molyneux was very much 4th choice behind Lescott, Baines & another younger lad who has jumped above him & been on the bench. Acid test will be when he plays. He cant be as bad as that O'Hallaran kid who came from Villa! Can he?
  10. Not being negative, but Lancashire has failed to impress me all season. I understand he is young, but he makes far to many mistakes for my liking.
  11. Please Mr Lowe show some integrity & some sense & leave Southampton Football club. You wanted all the accolades for the stadium & cup final & none of the responsibility for relegation. Your shares were purchased from income derived from relegating Southampton Football Club. Do the honourable thing & leave us - for good. Concentrate on WH Ireland & your other interests please, please, please. Happy 2009
  12. Dividends are not immoral. They are for a football club whose prime objective prior to Lowe being around was football performance. Which investors benefited the most from those divi's then Nick? We have had this discussion before Andy Crossley who was the largest institutional share holder ran a small cap growth fund with a zero income requirement. He did not ask for the divi as Lowe suggested at the AGM 3 or 4 years ago. Have you heard of a capital return NicK? You know where a share price goes up? Not all companies reward their share holders with dividends. By the way what was the price of the company when Rupert listed it? .....£1...Great capital return from the much lauded Rupert Lowe.
  13. Kevin Phillips
  14. The size of our debt dwarfs the size of the issued share capital. Debts £43m including £22m long term (stadium) Market capitalisation £6.74m @24p We are not beholden to the to the share holders - more to the short term debt owners (the banks). Wolverhampton Wonderers was sold for a £1. Why on earth would someone pay £6.74m (at the very least) for the equity of the club & take on the £43m of debt? I dont want us to go into administration, but the capital structure of the club is removing what little chance of anyone purchasing us we have IMHO. And dont forget the £4.5m Lowe spent on immoral dividends & share buy backs! (I must have written that bit a thousand times - that is how much it annoys me!)
  15. The lunatic was indeed at the AGM - His name Rupert Lowe. How anybody can say he won is quite beyond me. Look at the accounts. We have debts of over £43m & you are saying that his financial genius is a) going to solve the problem & b) take absolutely no responsibility for the position we are in. Why on earth would anybody invest £50m to make Saints solvent? And there in lies the real problem. RL defending his share holding, which he acquired by relegating SFC from the PL. Cloud cuckoo land is where many of you are abviously celebrating Christmas!
  16. Why the fu(k would anyone want to work with Rupert Lowe?
  17. Just a week ago I wanted to give JP the benefit of the doubt, but I dont think I can do that now. Problem is - Why would anybody want to work with Rupert Lowe?
  18. We are potless. At least Wilde & Crouch paid for their shares out of their own pockets. Lowes were acquired from the income he derived from relegating SFC. The same income that was supplemented by paying immoral dividends & share buy backs. I wonder if he will de-list the club like Sheff U? Did you know that Millwall has a greater market cap than SFC. Or it is valued greater than SFC! Great chairmanship that!
  19. Personally believe that Lowe has absolutely no integrity. Everything he has done right from reversing a nursing home into Southampton was for his own selfish benefit. Immoral dividends & share buy backs where he was the chief beneficiary were the end for me. I voted that i had confidence in JP. Not because i agreed with his appointment, but because any manager needs at least 12 months to show their worth. Compare what he has to work with & what Wigley & Grey did then you can see he has a greater understanding of the game. Couple that with the Lowe imposed player boundaries & the guy is on a hiding to nothing. What he has done is shown a decent level of humility & understanding of supporters views (with the exception of DMcG). For that we owe him more time.
  20. Thanks BBB - Not seen that one.
  21. We lost a lot more detail when we went to AIM from the main exchange! For what it is worth - that is why i thought Lowe did it for. To remove the detailed accounting procedures.
  22. The attachments below are a little out of date, but it explains Sheffield Utds decision to exit the stock exchange because it believes there is little benefit from remaining listed. I am desperately trying to get to the AGM on December 23rd to ask Rupert why it is in our interests to remain listed even though Sheff Utds value is £8.9m & ours is £6.5m & they view it unnecessary. It makes it even more laughable when you total up the money wasted on dividends & share buy backs...............just over £4.5m. And we need to keep Rupert why?????????? Sheffield United PLC said it has applied for cancellation of its listing on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange as it believes that the current economic environment means there is little benefit to the club and its shareholders in remaining listed. The football, property, leisure and services company said the low liquidity of the shares in Sheffield United leads to a volatility in the share price which may not reflect the true worth of the group. Also, the susceptibility of the share price to current market conditions is not to the benefit of the business. Like most other listed football clubs, Sheffield United finds itself unable to raise capital from institutional investors as they remain uninterested in committing funds to companies in the football industry coupled with the present problems of the markets. The directors do not expect this situation to change in the foreseeable future. Chairman Kevin McCabe commented: "By delisting we will reduce costs and will make it easier to reposition the company to better achieve our aspirations, which include promotion back to the Premier Dec 4 (Reuters) - English soccer club Sheffield United Plc (SUT.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Thursday it applied for delisting its shares effective Jan. 7, citing low liquidity of its shares and a fall in their value caused by the economic turmoil. The South Yorkshire club said it was unable to raise capital from institutions following their lack of interest in committing funds to companies in the football industry. Sheffield also cited the costs associated with maintaining listing on the AIM, London Stock Exchange's junior market, as a reason for the delisting. The company said it would seek shareholder approval for delisting its shares at an extraordinary general meeting on Dec. 27. "By delisting we will reduce costs and will make it easier to reposition the company to better achieve our aspirations, which include promotion back to the Premier League for Sheffield United," Chairman Kevin McCabe said in a statement. Sheffield United shares closed at 8.5 pence on Wednesday. (Reporting by Srikanth Srinivasa in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
  23. Any manager needs at least a season to build a team & get a team to play in the style he wants them too. That said there are some worrying signs with JP. I dont understand the way McGoldrick plays every week. I dont think he knows who his best back 4 are. I think he has made a number of mistakes in the loan market & ignored the fact that we have needed a right back for ages. But to answer the question i do have some faith in him. He appears to be the kind of guy that thinks about things in a rationale & considered manner & deserves a chance to prove he has what is needed for us to survive. We should also not forget that the team who started so brightly against Derby & Birmingham is missing Morgan, Killer & Holmes who I think if fit would have been first choices most weeks. I stand by what i said at the start of this experiment. It is Lowe's big gamble that ultimately could cost the club its status in the Championship.
  24. Jan looked very shocked when he walked off at half time. He stared at the crowd all the way back. I have some sympathy with what he has to work with, but playing McGoldrick every week & the team dont look prepared for the opposition.
