Well we got a point! I though Morgan was the best player on the park first half by a country mile. Then he gave the ball away that lead to the pen & his head went down. We played far to deep for the first half hour & just after we scored. Saga was very poor today, Perry struggled with the big lad.Murty & Harding played well. Thomas won a decent amount in the air. Wotton tries hard, but is not really a decent footballer. James worked well with Murty. Lallana was identified as our key strength & Millwall hit every time they could. Paterson was the surprise plus point. He worked really really hard. He gave us options in a way Saga never looked like doing. As soon as he went off we went to 4-5-1 & were pretty terrible IMHO. We need strikers, Wingers & another defender ASAP! Please! Where was Rasiak?

You cant underestimate the pull of Coles in his decision. He reckons that he was the best gk coach he ever worked with. TBH I am still a little disapointed, but not really surprised.

Decided to make the trip as the tickets came with our season tickets. Even though we lost I felt quite optimistic. I thought Mills (goal aside), Gillet, Davies & Rasiak had excellent games. I really hope we can keep Rasiak & or Saga & John as I think we have a good chance of the play offs even with a 10pt deficit. Couple of points. A number of players looked as though they were carrying to much weight. Thomas, Murty, Saga inparticular. Molyneux is a very poor player. James was awful in the middle of midfield. 4-1-4-1 leaves the central striker very isolated. They had some real quality & pace, but up until we started messing with subs we gave them a real good game.

£2m fro Djimi Traore is a shocker! He was & is one of the worst players to ever play in the PL. But like all managers some signings work out - some dont. It would be interesting to see the players coming in & out of Reading which is more of a similar situation to where we are at now.

I have to admit he would not have been my first choice, but I think he has the pedigree to do a good job for us. As FF mentioned earlier - we have to give the guy time to build 'his' team & then gel those guys into a unit that can compete in the second half of the season & hopefully give us a cracking chance the year after. Good luck Alan - COYR!

Well my season ticket landed on the mat this morning along with 2 more for my oldest 2 lads. I gave up my season ticket when we left The Dell. I still went to at least 2/3 rds of all games until last year where I missed 4 away, but went only to the Crystal Palace game at home. I am happy we are in the 3rd division? No, but even though I lose out financially buying season tickets as its a 400 mile round trip & I will still make more away games than home I am happy to give something back to the new owner & the football club. I am simply very happy to have a club to support.

At the time DJ was removed I thought Lowe treated him badly, but i have to say the Saints team at the time was pretty poor & he was border line for the sack anyway for football reasons. He made some excellent signings, but more very very poor ones. Lee Todd anybody?

If we are not servicing debt any more then we are in an extremely strong position in Div 3! I cant stop smiling!
-
That is exactly what I wanted him to say! Top fella.
-
No thats you fish *****ers down the road!

I feel so happy that my boys have a team to support again. I admit I was worried, but now we can unite behind a new owner & management team. I hated Lowe with a passion, but now is the time to move on & forget him. We have our Saints back. Come on you red & white machine - machine - machine!

Tottenham at home in the FA Cup. Saints 2 - 6 Tottenham. Grobelaar lets Rosenthal score a hatrick (2 inside his near post), we are winning 2-1 - goes to extra time & we lose 4 more goals! Then I had to drive home 180 miles having Dean Austins words on the radio ringing in my ears "How many? - How many?"

KK on his time at Saints - worth watching..

That is the best away kit for years. Interested to see what it would look like with blue shorts? Send it to the club! -
Doesn't sound like Wotte has been told he is out?

Exactly right Ron. -
There were a number of things that eventually killed off Lowe & his cronies. The protests, the stay away fans, a million managers etc etc IMHO, but the thing that still surprises me is how I forget things about how much of a horrible man Lowe was & is. Whilst on holiday I read Jeremy Wilsons book on cult heroes & was reminded of Mr Lowe sacking David Coles 2 days before Christmas. Webster then came in having Burleys & Woodwards approval. Basically Niemi worshipped him & all of our keepers sang his praise from the highest hights. He had had the chance to leave Saints & decided against it. His reward from Lowe - sack him 2 days before Christmas! And that is from the guy who told David Moyes he could not have his own coaching team in place! Whatever the reasons he has finally gone - all I can say is that I am thankful he has!
-
Half way through his book & he comes accross as an arrogant tosser IMHO. That does not mean that I think he was or is a poor manager just that my opinion has changed as a result of the things he says & the way he says them. Not sure I would have him back even if we could? Actually I probably would however unlikely.

Did the "Lowe Boycott" Damage the Chances..

Yep lets blame the fans that stayed away & ignore all the inept decisions Lowe & Wilde made. Very very naive if you ask me. -
Your not wrong Foxstone. That is why I want to hear as much as possible about all of them & draw my own conclusions about all the shenanigans that went on behind our backs. IMHO it all started with Lowe - so thats where we start, Cowen, move onto Wilde & his execs, to Crouch then back to Lowe & Wilde.
-
Whilst I ultimately understand the desire to move onwards & upwards to ignore the past in my opinion is the wrong thing to do. It may well give some of us a level of closure on the whole Rupert Lowe episode. I sense some people dont want to examine the past as it may well highlight some of their own naivety towards the man & his utter contempt for the fans, his ineptitude in management & his lack of integrity.
-
No - he cant hide from his involvement in the first half of the year & he made lots of mistakes as manager as well.
-
Could not agree more! He also works with a tight squad of players & improves them as a team.
-
I dont buy this land backed asset strip idea. There is a huge land bank available to buy at the moment without much interest. If we could sell all 3 bits (Marchwood, Jacksons Farm & the stadium) I would be surprised in the current climate to raise much more than £5m (happy to be proved wrong) & that ignores any fixed creditors that we have to pay a percentage back too.
-
Maybe we should keep paying Mr Lowe to ***** us up some more & tell Mr Crouch to ****** off? Of course he has a proportion of responsibility for where we are. A lot smaller than Lowes & Wildes in my opinion, but he is doing a whole lot more than those two muppets to help what is left. I tell you one thing this club is not the same as the club I started to support as a 5 year old in 1975. The fans were different, the game was different. Maybe it is time to start watching non-league stuff where grass roots people actually make a difference? I am so sick & fed up of all this f'ing bickering & point scoring. Saints are *****ed & we need to unite - not post inane drivel like sid the squid. For reference - what integrity has Lowe ever had? Answer: None whatsoever!

Great photos. I love the one where Tessem, Svensson, Telfer & Claus have got there jeans on & Tessem is standing there with a carrier bag! Proper Sunday morning footy! Been out the night before - wake up somewhere you shouldnt - phone mate & tell him to pick your boots up or you cant play - turn up at football in last nights clothes to a cheer from the lads! Brilliant!
