My youngest reminded me about the penalty Ali won at St Mary's this morning. I genuinely don't believe things even themselves out. No one has ever actually proved that. The bigger clubs get more of the important decisions. Don't think that's in doubt. Ali maybe a great footballer, but he is a sneaky little get. That challenge in the Europa League was appalling. He is prone to a dive or two too. Why wouldn't Friend let Long on?? He's a muppet too. I don't think we played particularly well, but we do have good pace & now break so much quicker than we did earlier in the season. We have seen teams come to SMS, sit & hit us on the break. That's the style we employ against the top 6. I don't have an issue with it at all. I also believe we need another strong holding midfielder. Maybe Hojberg will come good? He is certainly young enough, but looks as though some of his confidence is shot. As many have said, more worried about Gabbi's injury.

Was talking to a guy at Stoke today (one of the academy coaches) who was telling me that we had agreed a deal with Stoke for Marc Muniesa on the last day of the January window. He was on his way to Southampton, but the deal was pulled at the last minute. Apparently this deal was part of a chain of transfers that never materialised so didn't happen. Interesting one for me. Not sure he is that great a central defender, but can play there & at full back. He also said that Martins Indi is all done & he will sign for them at the end of the season. Pity that, as he is the kind of player who would work brilliantly with VVD. Just to be clear, I don't claim to be an in the know, I cant prove any of this & there is a chance its all BS...........................................

He is injured imho. A few times yesterday he winced & held his leg. He is not moving as freely as he was last season. I reckon as soon as we get to 40 pts he will have surgery..............
-
Waited to post until now as I wanted to get over the disappointment. Saw some outstanding performances yesterday. Gabbi, Yoshida & Redmond. Think that was Redmonds best game in a Saints shirt. We had real width & killed Utd down the flanks. That said, all 3 goals could have been stopped. JWP loses ball, Oriel dives in & Fraser should get there for the first. Davis loses his man & we stand off for the second. Stephens watches Zlatan & I am not sure what Fraser is doing............................. Is Forster injured. He winced on a number of occasions yesterday. I reckon hes playing with an injury. Hope not. Not going to mention the linesman........... Rag fans are on the whole idiots. Atmosphere was great. Harrow were very accommodating too. Me & my 2 lads loved it. Saints can be proud of what they produced. Each & everyone of them. Watched the highlights, quick question, what now constitutes a penalty from a corner? Smalling has hold of Gabbi every single corner..........................??

Just emailed for the 4th time. Are my mails going to spam??

Emailed 3 times now mate, no reply. You full up??

Will never forget that cup game at Sunderland. That was all MoPo, we were utterly shocking. Remember driving home thinking what a total tool he was. No doubt he is an outstanding manager, but he went down a long way that day. Similar to Koeman at Shef Utd in the cup, but MoPo's decisions that day were a joke.

Not strictly true as they still pay a booking fee..........................& normally buy crap from the club shop..........................& just maybe a supportive away crowd actually helps Saints gain points.
-
Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can now take my youngest to Wembley to watch Saints!!!!!!!!!! Get the %%%% in!!
-
The wording on that announcement from the club is almost exactly as I wrote to them!!!! Lets see how I get on this morning.........................And then this afternoon.

I gave my tickets up as my youngest 2 lads are playing academy football. They simply couldn't play & give us time to get to games. The reason its relevant, is my 10 year wants to know why all the hours in the car for the last 5 years of having a ticket means F.A. to the club & clearly to you. I don't have an answer that washes with him (& in fairness with me). Where were all the season ticket holders in League One?? Answer, no f'ing where. Its the usual Premier League BS. Why shouldn't the club give a **** about someone who has bought 36 season tickets over the last 8 seasons?? Because I committed to the club when it needed it most, put my hand in my pocket when others couldn't give a ****, that's why. Ive done 5 games this season. 3 away & 2 at home. Means nothing. Where were the other 25000+ who didn't go to Anfield?? Probably though we were going to get knocked out........... The Southampton way..............................................
-
Ive written to Saints 3 times now asking them to explain why away games don't count & they cant even be bothered to reply............ Ive got 3 memberships & it means nothing. Southampton Football Club, the club who doesn't give a **** about people who bought season tickets (4 of them) in League One & held them until the summer, has been to 5 games this season & has spent more in the club shop than I can count.......................................
-
I'm a member mate too. Won't bother again though. Might as well watch none league football..............Ignoring always is total bull!!!!
-
OK, financially....................that should be the only benefit worth quantifying. So 15 years of season tickets previously mean **** all then. Seriously................
-
Do supporters not make a difference then?? Travelling fans don't benefit the club?? Seriously??
-
Don't think I have ever felt so fed up with Saints. I bought season tickets the minute we were relegated to League 1 & kept them until this summer. Why didn't I renew?? Two of my three sons are playing academy football on Saturday mornings & I live in rural Shropshire. They have to play Notts Forest, Leicester, Oxford etc which are all over 90 miles away from home. We simply cant get to games. We have been to 6 games this year including always & it counts for nothing. Saints have really let us down & that loyalty of hundreds & hundreds of games over many years means absolutely nothing. Ive emailed the club & they haven't even bothered replying. To say I am ****ed off with Southampton FC is an under estimation.................... All those midweek trips following 6-1 home defeats, trips to Hartlepool, Exeter & Rochdale mean absolutely nothing. Cheapest corporates I can get are 400 quid each.......................

Just arrived home. I said to my lad at half time 'we ain't losing tonight' - I had a feeling our goal was charmed. Didn't see us scoring (well I did as it was in front of me), but just had a feeling it was our night. Just how good were Yoshida & Romeu?? Bloody hell 10 out of 10 for both of them. Outstanding!! Loved Lallana & Lovrens faces as they went off too. Very very happy!!!!

I would get Bruno Martins Indi from Porto. He's had a great season so far on loan at Stoke. Bet he's cheaper than Sakho too. Then Take Edin Dzeko from Roma. Probably take £15-£20m, but both have the determination & motivation to get better too.
-
I would go to Porto & offer £10m for Bruno Martins Indi. He's on loan to Stoke & now is the time to gazump them. He's had an excellent season & is only 24/25. Sakho has a history I would rather not Saints get involved in.

Better intensity in the first half lead to a better performance. Thought Jay Rod once again showed signs of improvement. Never ever grumble at 3pts.

Another awful transfer window (so far). Disappointed with Fonte. It's not the way to behave after 7 years. But there is absolutely no doubt we are a far weaker side now than we were at the end of last season. The whole spine has gone. Pelle, Wanyama & Fonte. Not even including Mane. The 2 replacements Hojberg & Redmond are simply not as good. Redmond is not even a central player. In this window we could have kept Fonte & signed Morgan & Berahino. Nobody could possibly say we wouldn't be a better side for it. That maybe unrealistic, but I am sure Berahino would have come. Maybe not on 85k pw though that he is getting at Stoke. Doubt Morgan would have come either if I'm being honest. Just got this horrible feeling that the decline has started. Really hope not, but Sakho & Gabiadinni are not the type of players we need at 20m each. Losing quality players year after year & watching pedestrian predictable football is not much fun at all. Come on Saints, step up, sign a player that can get all of us excited!! Please...........
-
Am I the only one who doesn't want to spend £20m on Sakho & £25m on Gabiadinni???
-
Why is anybody the slightest bit surprised at his comments? Geez, we have a cup semi final at home & we still have tickets for sale on the day of the game........not so bad if we had a 75000 seat stadium, but we are not even half that. Get a grip FFS!
-
Nightmare getting down yesterday. Took 4 1/2 hours, but it was worth it to see the lads faces after the game. Thought we were very sluggish for 15 minutes then came to life & actually showed some penetration. The team displayed a real sense of effort epitomised by Jay Rods running, Romeu's ball winning & Maya's determination. Disappointed we didn't get the 2nd or 3rd we deserved, but pleased with the win. My MOM was Yoshida. He gets fairly criticised by some, but where else can you get a defender who is prepared to be a squad player & commit to us for £2m?? Really looking forward to the 2nd leg now. We have hope........... Lastly, tossers on A34 closing the M40 junction meant a half hour detour...............................not needed at that time of the morning!
