  1. If you think about it.....he does not really stay anywhere very long does he? What does that say about him? Very interesting move IMHO. NA must have an alternative in mind..........(fingers crossed) OR - He thinks Butterfield can play there???
  2. What a load of ******** that is. He is the best central midfielder we have. He should play just in front of the back 4. He does not just pass sideways. The best passes we see from Saints nearly always orginate from him. NA was a muppet to play him as the front of the 3 on Saturday. Did you see Chaplow & Hammond on Saturday? Hammond was terrible. Did you see his tackle for the corner that lead to the 3rd goal? Chaplow missed the goal 1 on 1 & often won the ball really well only to pass between 2 players. I would drop Hammond on Saturday.
  3. There is no doubt that Puncheon has ability, but he has not played well this year IMHO. The question is, will he get a game with AOC playing so well & scoring goals. Maybe the club can try & sell, recoup the cost & buy a player for a different position? FWIW, I think we could replace him. The 2 wingers Carlisle started with on Saturday were on loan from Leeds & Arsenal & looked very capable. The list that AndyNorthernSaint produces is a little unfair as some of those players were rated by fans, but not by the management. If we had stayed in the Prem or even the Champ some of them may never have left. Blackstock & Best were young & behind a number of other players in the pecking order.
  4. Pulis, Wotton, Forecast., Jaidi. I would let, Holmes, Mills, Gobern, Doble go out on loan. Chaplow & Guly could go back to their own clubs. More important is who we should get in........Madine, Cansdell-Sherriff, & I noticed Wes Hoolahan is not starting for Norwich so I would make a cheeky bid for him.
  5. And how did Prutton miss that sitter at West Brom???
  6. Just watched the goals again on the iplayer & the player who looks pretty poor at defending on the first 2 is Fonte. Poor header out left for the first then Harding does not track the winger. And again token gesture of a challenge as the chap crosses the ball. Morgan at fault for the 3rd & you can see he knows it when it goes in. But if you watch the run that lead to the shot that lead to the corner Chaplow, Hammond & Fonte all fail to make a tackle. Starting to come round to the idea that it was not just the formation - just very $ H 1 T defending by us!!!
  7. I have listened to the interview on the BBC as well & he appears quite angry. Not just at the goals, but at the suggestions 4-5-1 had anything to do with losing. For me, that is a little naive. However, it was good to hear a little passion in his voice rather than his usual tone.
  8. Madine looked a better player yesterday, but Lambert just needs a confidence boost to get back to where he belongs. Scoring almost every week for Saints!!
  9. I certainly support him, but yesterday he got it wrong. I am sure he will again. The purpose of a forum is to share views, that is exactly what people are doing for christ sake.
  10. Just back. For the first 20 minutes we were the better side. I turned to VFTT & said we need to score. We lost the ball & they scored. After that we were total plop. Quite why Adkins played 4-5-1 is beyond me, but even if you like the formation why you would want Morgan at the front of it when he is our best passer is honestly very stupid. Harding was shocking. Not for the own goal. He was just not on the same planet as anyone else. Not sure why he dropped Seabourne either. I think he needs to become a more brave manager. Everyone could see it was not working, but he carried on regardless. When we went 2-0 down he needed to bring on another striker. Take off Hammond who even though he scored was terrible. Davis 4 A couple of decent saves Frazer 4 Tried hard & got past Oxo, but the winger was worrying him Harding 2 Shockingly bad Fonte 4 I thhink he would be better in the PL than div 3. A big lump of a striker causes him all sorts of problems Jaidi 4 Madine beat him in the air too easily Oxo 6 At least he tried to run at people Adam 5 Again tried hard, but did not see enough of the ball Morgan 3 Played in the wrong position & it showed Hammond 3 Terrible. Would have been 2 if it were not for his goal Chaplow 6 Always busy & chasing, but misplaced too many passes & was through 1 on 1 & missed the target Lambert 5 Won some stuff in the air, but got no support Adkins 2 Wrong formation, played Morgan in the wrong place, needs to be braver Dont know who was marking for their 3rd goal, but he needs shooting. Why is it we cant defend a corner yet we have about 20 against Shrews & 5 or 6 today & not one of our players can even win a header?????? Very poor & very disapointed!!!!!
  11. I already have a car load!!!! 6 of us which will rise to 7 next year when youngest nipper is 4 1/2!!!!!
  12. Exactly where Hamilton. I live about 7 miles away from MD closer to Newport. My lads are all born in Shropshire, but are Saints fans.
  13. We were poor pretty much all game. My 3 year old's first ever Saints game. He lasted 35 minutes before asking when we were going home which I thought was quite good! Why when we are at home against a team a division below us do we insist on having nobody up the park when the opposition have a corner?? Even they kept one up when we had one!!! Stupid if you ask me. I thought nobody was outstanding. Chaplow tried hard, but gives the ball away too much. Hammond was pretty poo. Again he tries hard, but would not know how to deliver a killer pass if he was given 10 minutes & written instructions. Harding assisted for the first goal, but apart from that was not good. Guly???? Not sure why we have him on loan. Simply does not do anything special. I would let him go back to Italy & get us a young quick striker from somewhere (easier said than done though).
  14. Very disappointed not to be there tonight, but work comes first. Also surprised he has left Morgan out!!!!!!
  15. I have been wondering this myself. Personally i would leave both in the side for Daggers, but let Oxo & Dickson loose on Shrewsbury.
  16. I was interested to see that Alan Lee was sent off for Huddersfield. Fair play they beat us fair & square up there, but they had had 4 players sent off prior to playing us. Lee makes 5. They need a lenient ref to win games. Just a bunch of thugs IMHO.
  17. Oh yea he won the free kick for the goal didnt he.............................
  18. Another vote for Golac!!!!!
  19. We must watch different games & look for different thhings in a football match. Morgan is the best passer we have. He was caught in possession a couple of times. Interestingly the pass he received was from Puncheon on both occasions. He always wants the ball & is prepared to take it when others dont know what to do. I do focus on his ability & performance all game. Maybe you should focus on that fact that if we have the ball the opposition cant score & he maintains possession better than any other player we have. He reminds me of Oakley. Maybe you thought he wasnt very good either. I also disagree with your view of Puncheon. He did indeed try harder, but failed to do what Oxo did on at least 3 or 4 occassions - which was to go past his man. I am constantly surprised by people on here.............
  20. Yep. Butterfield, Seabourne, Morgan. The rest were much of a muchness, but if you dont give Lallana the ball he cant make a difference. Who was it that was fouled for the free kick that lead to the goal? Oh yes, Lallana. Puncheon saw a lot of the ball & simply did not produce enough end product. I want the guy to play well, but it has been a while since he has. Maybe knowing that Antonio & Waigo were on the bench inspired him? Now having Oxo pushing on & scoring will do the same? Also he looks a bit overweight to me.
  21. What?? You were at a different game than me. Fonte was the man at fault last week. The first free kick that lead to the goal came from a very silly Fonte raised foot, NOT Seabourne. Harding had a shocker as well. First 15 mins today we were great. Next 30 absolute poo. The goal bailed us out. 2nd half loads better & when we went 2-1 up we were excellent. Very strange game.
  22. In fairness in the first half he tried hard, but with very little end product. He hit the post, but the shot was tame & always turning away from goal. I dont rate him to be honest. The main reason is that he does not take on the full back enough. He does not have the pace to get round people & simply nowhere near the skill of Lallana. I wish he would cross with his right foot sometimes as well.
  23. He was poor today. A number of times Barnard was simply pushed & he ignored it. BUT IMHO I thought the Guly incident was not a pen. I though Guly just did not connect with his pass/shot & fell over becuase he was embarrassed!
  24. Standing on then falling over the ball was not total poo then? No he worse than most of them!
  25. We were simply out muscled yesterday and lost to the better side. We could not cope with their physicality at all. It was a mistake not starting Morgan, he is simply the best passer we have. Also a cold day in Yorkshire is never gonna help guly. Hudders have had 4 guys sent off this year and you can see why. The game needed a strong ref and we didnt get one. No gripes, they were better than us on the day. Also, how bad was Puncheon. He may be my pet hate, but he was total poo!
