Lallana & Morgan were awesome today. I actually thought Exeter were a decent side & played some tidy football. Second goal killed them & they chased the game. Fair play to Guly. He took his goals well & I thought Rickie contributed a lot. Another 3 points on Monday would be excellent. What happened to Hammond?
-
But he still would not get in our side ahead of Lallana & AOC!!!!

Chaplow - signed a 2 and a half year deal - OFFICIAL

Very good signing, especially at £50k. -
My nipper has trained up at Stoke a few times & I know a couple of the junior coaches. Apparently Andrew Davies contract is about to be paid up & he is available for nothing. He knows Huddersfield have asked about him, but that he was very happy down here & would love to come back if there was a chance. Not saying it is going to happen, but I think we could do worse than get him back in if he is available for nothing. I think he would work well with Jose.

If I remember rightly the big centre back scored in each game against us from headers taken from corner kicks. Set pieces probably their best chance of scoring, but we need to win what ever the score.
-
Surprised to see Fonte get 10 votes. I thought he was caught out of position a couple of times & he was at fault when they missed the open goal with a dodgy jump for a header that he got nowhere near. Lallana is different class. He may missed a couple of good chances, but both were on target & he was a constant threat.

If Guly is an attacking midfielder then why did Adkins play him further up the field than Lambert for half the game? His link up maybe OK, but I dont think he is as good a striker as either LB or DC. Lallana was our best player today IMHO. Also special mention for Harding today following his shocker at Carlisle. I thought he played well today. We still look vulnerable at the back though IMHO.

Top 2 at the absolute minimum. A lot has to change though. We peaked too early last year, maybe we will get it just right this year!?!?!
-
If we can get our money back & free up his wages I will be over the moon!!
-
I bet he thought we would beat Brentford at home though!!!!
-
FWIW I would not sign him. Would rather a defensive midfielder...........................

Saints 0 Brentford 2 - Post Match Depression

Just read Brentford's manager's comments on BBC & he is basically taking the p i s s out of us!! Said it was the easiest win of all of the last 5!! That says it all for me........... -

Christmas party last night so decided not to drive 180 miles each way & boy am i f u c k i n g chuffed i did not make the effort. Not happy about this at all. Mistakes are mistakes, but we are not scoring. Big game next week. It is going to be interesting to compare how we played against them last year where we won 4-1 & absolutely mullered them. It was still not good enough to get us promoted, but as we sit today I honestly believe we are worse now than we were last year. Getting worried about Adkins too. Very poor performances at Hudders, Carlisle, Shrewsbury & again today do not bode well & Mr Lambert is like a Sunday morning player not one who got almost 40 goals last year. Very worried indeed! -

Problem is - is that this season, for us, he struggled to beat an egg let alone take a full back on............................. -
3rd wicket - Anderson celebrates - Saints shirt behind him!!!!! Watch the highlights tonight & you will see new shirt! We're here, we're there, we're every fu( king where - we are Saints - WE ARE SAINTS!!!
-
What is his pass completion percentage compared to any other player in the side then Weston? He is always available to receive the ball in places where all our other players struggle to maintain composure.
-
Morgan = Someone who can pass the ball to a fellow team mate Chaplow = Someone who regularly does the hard bit in winning the ball back & fails to find a team mate. I have many Preston fans as clients who criticise Chaplow for exactly the same reasons some of you criticise Morgan...........They cant wait to get rid of him. Even the other night NA played Morgan as the most offensive of the 2 in midfield which is not where he plays for France or ever did for Saints under AP. Maybe NA is setting him up to fail?
-
I dont think he is crap, but i would not sign him.

Just got back after 2 1/2 hour drive to Birmingham Airport for 6.30am flight. Brighton were horrible. Niggling, pushing, moaning, time wasting etc. Saints great first half. Not so good second. Great save from KD. Why are we so rubbish at set plays? Corners in particular? Why is weston so anti Morgan? Hammond was not great tonight. Very disapointed not to win.
-
I thought we were going to beat them last year & we were rubbish. I am worried even more by the fact that they are missing some of their better players. We should win, we can win, but it does not mean that we will win...................................nervous

Hammond was very good today. What did you think of his performance last week Rich? dont agree about Fonte either. I thought he could have defendedd a lot better for their goal! Also could have been very different after his slip which could have lead to them scoring before we did. IMHO Morgan is a lot better player then either of Hammond or Chaplow. His range of passing is much much better, but as you say he wont chase lost causes or run round like a headless chicken. Morgan will play in the top flight of football, maybe even Champions League? Hammond & Chaplow wont. For me, I thought Dickson played very well & all of them played well. Lets enjoy an excellent win & look forward to Tuesday.

No it was Chris Marsden & the Wolves Player who dies was one of their most respected............Jees......
-
OK the person who dies & the club he joined are not the most important thing..........It must have been a player, but for the life of me I cant remember who as I am not a Wolves luvey & dont have enough time to research all the bits & pieces. I stand corrected on who & where he went, but the point is still relevant - Mr point scorer!
-
Hands up - I am not JP's biggest fan. But this funeral story reminds me of a certain Mr Marsden who performed brilliantly for Saints. I play 5 a-side with a load of Wolves fans who told about how he was very direspectful at Jack Haywards funeral. As soon as the dust settled they shipped him out to Stockport. As CM matured he realised the error of his ways & peaked with Saints. Maybe JP will have a few more years of sulking & basically being immature & turn out to be a great player for another club in 3 or 4 years?? There is no doubt he has talent, but I worry about his application or motivation to play for Saints???
