I always thought Trotman did really well for us! Good luck to him.
-
But he missed 2 other blatant penalties!
-
Just watchedit all on the Saints Player & how much did Durso get wrong?? F u c k me!! There was a blatant body check on Harding by their full back in the first half which went completely unpunished. Greer is obviously the leader of moaning as every chance he got he was in the ref's ear. I would appeal the sending off & use all the evidence of what went on with Brighton. Harding got booked for a fair tackle. Even waving Connolly offside when he wasnt. They are the most cynical, nasty & horrible football team I can remember since Wimbledon. And if Dean Hammond has got anything about him he would tell El-Abd to f u c k off!!

Lukas Jutkiewicz.... is he worth signing?

That is on the Sky Sports rumours site now!!! Please Saints - bring the lad home!!!!! -
Would take Gilks, Phillips, Sordell & Butterfield.............................................................................Might be asking a bit much though!!
-
I certainly did not say we had the best squad in history!!! And yes we do lack quality in depth. If you go back to the thread about what could hurt us the most - a lot of us said losing Lambert would really hurt us & we dont have an alternative without him. Looks like thats the postioning we find ourselves in!! I would pay £2m for Jutkevic from Cov right now & play him up front alongside RL!!
-
Yes please!! Just dont let his dad in the ground!! FWIW it will never happen - serious fall out between Cortese, Arsenal & Mark Chamberlain........................
-
Butterfield had a cracking game against Boro, but Frazer has been excellent this season. I would have had Butterfield playing Rught midfield yesterday with Connolly up front with Lambert & Guly on the bench. Personally dont think Fox is any better than Harding who is not much better than Dickson. All musch of a muchness IMHO. The difference is Fox cost £1.8m & he has not lived up to that price tag!! Holmes is decent & deserves a chance, but I think yesterday told us beyond doubt that Adkins does not rate him. All 3 will be shipped out IMHO in January.

He played him in the cup last year - I think he will do it again!!

Just listened to his comments on R5. NA rarely comments on a referee's performance & he mentions decisions without mentioning him personally. He seems really narked by Hardings booking & the lack of a penalty over anything else. He also mentions, once again, about their tactics of winding people up & he we should have been aware of it. He gives me confidence when he speaks. Never to high after a win & never too down after a loss.......................

I find his comments strangely reassuring!! Fingers crossed...................................................

Problem is, is that we are so reliant on Lambert that missing him for 3 games will impact even more on our points total. We all know what Brighton are like. We have known it since the mid week home game last season. Ref may have been shocking, but you know what you are going to get with him. We need to start scoring ASAP. At Donny without Lambert we were shocking, really bad...................that does not bode well im afraid. It sounded like we had no width today after Lambert went off. Not sure why Butterfield is not getting a chance there?? We need to sign 2 players NOW & even go against Adkins mantra of improving what we already have & sign a couple of loans. The squad needs some new faces. FWIW - the turning point of the season was Chaplow's leg giving on a very wet Brizzle pitch. We have had some terrible referee's since then which has not helped, but Guly & Cork missing open goals is not the ref's fault. I feel really down about today. Earlier in the season we were the fittest around. The amount of games & very thin squad has shown that that level can not simply be maintained. Teams play 4-5-1 against us & simply dont give us any space. Thats where some serious pace (AOC anyone) would be really helpful. I am worried i have to admit. Its question time for Adkins..............I am confident he can change things round!!
-
But should Lambert have been sent off? I will wait and see the video??
-
****ing **** - worse result of the season! Need signings, need a kick up the arse, need some width. Brighton the most cynical nasty bunch of bastards I have ever seen. Gully misses an open goal first half as does Cork in the second. Time for Adkins to really step up to the plate..........glad I did not go TBH!!!

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..

Up in Accrington last night. Had a quick chat with Burnley reserve teamer who is best mates with our friends nipper. Jay Rod not happening!! Burnley dont need the cash right now & are pushing for play off. But that may change next summer. Interesting one on the the Sky Sports rumour site. Kebe to Saints for £2m + Puncheon!!! I think he is out of contract in the summer, but a decent player none the less. -
Would be interested at £2m, but no more. I don't think he is as good as some people on here think he is.

Saints 0 Bristol City 1 - Post Match Reactions

Waited until this morning to post after getting in at 1am. I thought a draw was fair, but last night was never going to be our night. We could have still been there and would not have scored. Brizzle played well, no doubt, but the ball never dropped for us. Why is it that James keeps playing well against us then drops a clanger the next week? He carried the ball out of the box at the end and managed to convince a shocking ref that he hadn't. Their centre half (6) got his head or body to everything, but the ref let him get away with murder. He hit Lambert in the first half then booked him because we moaned so much. I think Rickie looked a bit sluggish after that. At a corner he had 2 hands on Rickie on at least 3 occasions. Why is it that he gets so little protection? I am starting to worry now about our ability to get up. We are so reliant on Rickie that if he has a ref that lets the opposition get away with murder we really struggle. That's why I would get Jutkevic rather than any of the other strikers mentioned. I have seen Sharp, Jutkevic, Rodrigues and Maynard twice and Jutkevic has caused us more problems than all the others IMHO. Don't think Maynard is all that. Certainly not worth anywhere near £6m! We need a striker and a winger. Our pace of play has slowed markedly since the first few months of the season and we need to speed up ASAP. By the way we conceded when Joss hoofed to the channel and neither Rickie or Guly were competing for the ball. It came back into our box and they scored. -
It's not about having a scapegoat because Guly can play rubbish when we win which contradicts that argument. Just because I don't see all the things you see in him does not make me right or you wrong or visa versa. As I have said before, the guy has undoubted talent, but sometimes he lacks in effort. Mind you - at least I can acknowledge when I am wrong unlike someone I know!!!!
-
When SDR played up at Donny, it was clear he was told to stick on the line. Frazer got the ball & the space in front of him had SDR in it which stopped some of attacking options. I think he needs to start & have a run of games. I would drop Guly on Boxing day & start with SDR in a 4 - 5 - 1 where he & Lallana get forward to support Rickie. I bet Palace come with a 4-5-1 & try & hit us with the undoubted pace they have. Just like the last 5 games we have played where we have won 5 out of 15 points. Hammond was my MOM at the fish ****ers, but my starting 2 in midfield would be Morgan & Cork. I really struggle with people who rate Hammond & indeed Cork in front of Morgan. If we have the ball the opposition does not score & he above all others in our team maintains possession. If you want all action huff & puff by all means go with Hammond & Cork, but not creative passing football. We are actually very very lucky to have all 3 IMHO.
-
It will be inevitable if or when we get back there, but some still exist outside of the PL, Beckford being an example. What i do believe however is that the manager can influence the kind of person he brings in. I have faith that Adkins will sort the right type of people at the expense of a reputation. It will be us the fans who want a name. What worries me about this is something some Wolves fans I play football with have said about them. They have the best squad they have had for years. Two players for every position, but no REAL talent. Nothing that stands out above the rest. What they would have preferred was 3 or 4 top top quality signings rather than 12 similar to what they already have. If we maintain the salary limit we may well do the same?????
-
Now that would be excellent!!!!!!

No racist comments, no sexual comments?
corky morris replied to the saint in winchester's topic in The Saints
That is why football is so hypocritical though. The law of averages would suggest that a number of current players are gay. They wont come out though becuase of reprisals. My nipper trains up with Stoke's development centre & they have a player who is (allegedly) gay. He has (allegedly) previously been in a relationship with Will Young. Clearly cant prove any of it, but he has said he wont come out until all or most of the gay players playing professional football all come out at the same time. Why is the PFA not advocating this & encouraging all of them to come out together. IMHO people are less likely to abuse a gay player in the opposition if their own team has one too. If football wants to take this issue seriously then they need to follow the example set by the Welsh rugby player & man up & come out........................... -
At the start of last season he was poor. He did not like how fans reacted. He went off on loan to Millwall, where he looked as though he was playing well. He played against Blackpool in the cup when he came back & it was tangible how the crowd was supporting him. What does he decide to do?? F.O. again to Blackpool. Start of this year he was again looking elsewhere so he clears off to QPR. How many chances does he want?? Without doubt the boy can play, but IMHO he is not as good as AL or AOC so was not in the team on merit. We dont have AOC (I wish we did) anymore & from what I can see he is at least equal to if not better than what we have. If he is committed to us, prepared to train hard & do what NA tells him I would give him another chance.
