I have met Harry Kerr through my work. He does not have the money to buy the fish fu ck ers! And that is saying something!

Cortese is rutheless. If we lose against Villa I can see him sacking Adkins. I have said since he sacked Pardew that he will do what HE wants not what anyone else thinks. He will always back his own judgment. FWIW, honestly, not sure what I want, but think Adkins does not look as energised as he did last season. No point in moaning about players being on International duty either. You bought them, deal with it. In fairness Benitez's CV does look better than Adkins.

And that ****** Kelvin McKenzie should never be allowed on TV again. He wrote that headline in The Sun. Utter disgrace.

Absolutely right Dave. Dont forget the FA as well. Why they put the fans in the ends they did is still a very serious question.

The lad has not had a fair crack of the whip. Adkins has played him there. He is clearly a striker. I bet Lambert would look crap if you put him there too!! I wish someone would ask Adkins why he paid £7m for a striker & plays him on the wing...................

It's disgusting. My lads quite like the white one, but the quality of the product itself is shocking.

Assault after the match on Sunday - police appeal
corky morris replied to SW11_Saint's topic in The Saints
Both sets were Eastern European. I have called 101 & the other numbers 3 times & cant get an answer. If anyone from Hamphire Police wants to PM me on here I will happily share what i saw from what was quite a distance. I also saw the end of the pre - attack fight 2 of them had. Have to say it was a very viscious attack. One of the victims girlfriends watched it all as well & her baby was in a pram. -

Taxi for Guly- Up north as far as possible
corky morris replied to Saints Warrior's topic in The Saints
Adkins wrote in his programme notes that Guly would pay the price for his drink driving. He put him on the bench. What he should have done was drop him completely. IMHO that sends he right message. He should not have been on the park, bu yesterday was not hs fault. -
Saints 2 Man United 3 - Post Match Reactions

After a long drive home & getting caught on The Avenue because a rag bus broke down........................... Morgan & JWP immense today. Adkins subs were shocking. I know - put a fella 5ft 8in up front & hoof the ball to him against 2 centre half's 6ft 3in!!! I know put a fella 6ft 2in on the wing who is a striker!! I know - when they have a corner get everyone back defending & dont have an outlet & allow them more players in the box. I know - make the subs & dont tell them who is marking Ferdinand at corners because Rickie has gone off. For me Adkins lost us that game with his substitutions. Man up Adkins, you made mistakes, learn from them!! -
Think Leeds is better than Man U personally

Very disappointed about this. I think he can offer more than people like Gul, but Adkins clearly wants 4-5-1. I hope he is right & I am wrong & it gets us winning games!! -
Agreed!!

Emmanuel Mayuka - Officially Signed on OS - Work Permit Confirmed
corky morris replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
Looking forward to seeing the lad develop. We badly needed pace & he can provide it. What I liked on the video was how he scored with both his left & right foot. Welcome aboard the bus! And can we have a centre half or two please................................................................................ -
There was/is always a chance that we would get relegated, but what kept me going was the thought that IMHO we would score goals. Absolutely we would concede loads, but on the evidence of 2 seasons we would create chances & have a go at teams. In one pre-season Adkins has changed that & taken away what we were good at because of fear. He goes on about being brave & is simply not living by his own words. How many times did we see Frazer or Butterfield bomb on & cross the ball in. Yep we were exposed, but at least we were having a go. Yesterday & at Citeh we were far too deep. Scared of what the opposition could do to us. We are 1-0 down at home & everyone, but their keeper is in our half. It makes no sense. I was listening to the radio one night. Graham Taylor, Glenn Hoddle & the old Spanish Liverpool manager were on about how they simply dont understand why managers do it as all it does is allow the opposition to put more players in our box & does not give you an outlet. More fear from Adkins. Jay Rod on the wing..................what is that all about. I certainly dont want to see him sacked, but he needs to live by the sword not wimp out........................ For christ sake, lets lose trying to win not just dropping deep & hoofing it.

But the point you (syd monk & shulock) is missing is that Martinez switched DoSanto about 30/35 mins into the game. Wigan then pushed higher up the park & made us hump it more. Was our answer to expose them down the flanks in a 4-4-2?? No it was a diamond without width. Adkins got it wrong. He talks about players being brave & he simply was not at all brave today.
-
Just in. I know you are not allowed to criticise Adkins, but he got it wrong. Why pay £7m for a striker & play him out wide? Why have absolutely nobody up front when they have a corner? The game changed when Martinez pushed DoSanto up front from the right wing. They pressed us deep & we did not know what to do. No plan B for Adkins. We have got promoted by playing attacking football so why has he switched formation? We got 2 goals on Sunday by switching to 4-4-2 so why switch from 4-5-1 to a diamond? He is being far too negative & not at all brave. His comments after the game were nonsense. " We had a game plan & it was working, but we did not take our chances" " We switched formation & we left ourselves too exposed" We lost Mr Adkins & we were losing with your game plan so it was not working. You put Guly in the middle for some strange reason. I dont think Cortese will tolerate this for too long. Stop talking rubbish Adkins & find your balls man. If we are gonna lose, lets lose trying to attack!! Its gonna be a long hard season!!

I was talking with a client of mine today who was just finishing up in a meeting with a client of his who turns out to be a scout at Man Utd. He does the opposition scouting prior to a game. And to nobodies surprise he said to me that the weakness of Saints is the lack of mobility of our Centre Half's. He was at the game on Sunday & said anyone with a modicum of football knowledge can see we are vulnerable to the ball in behind them. Also said that Clyne will be with us for a maximum of 2 seasons as he will be playing for a top 4 club!! All this does for me is confirm that we need not one, but 2 centre half's if we want to progress. Lets hope we can get at least one as soon as possible. The Spurs defender we are interested in is apparently Danny Rose by the way.

What complete & utter bollux. Lowe, Cowan & his buddies were the largest shareholders & took the majority of any dividend that was paid out. They also put in place 'share buy back' for no other reason than diluting the shares in issue to increase their personal percentage holdings. I know Lowe from WH Ireland as well. A business that booted him out for his performance. I know him from Morgan Grenfell where he traded junk bonds. He was crap at that too. I will give him some credit for ensuring the academy was important. As for his motives, not sure. I think his general idea was to sell a player a year to keep the club going. Understandable, but that aspiration tied in nicely with his dividend & share buy back policy.
-
We have been bringing players through for years. It may have evolved under Lowe, but I remember watching LeTiss, The Wallaces, Doddsy, Kenna etc well before he came anywhere near SFC!!

The 10 minutes when we scored were as good as I can remember. Am I the only person who thought Webb was a bit of 'homer'??

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
corky morris replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
Having read most of the 1500 pages of The Pompey Saga thread I am a little worried about how we are going to fund a signing of £15.75. Not saying I dont want it to happen, but just a little concerned...........
