Just back from the game. We were not great, but I don't think that was down to Adkins. I lost count f the amount of time we gave the ball away. The worst for it was Ramirez with Davis not far behind. Then Rickie started doing it. Ended up with Lallana giving it away. Baggies midfield was better than ours. I thought Morgan would thrive in the PL, but he is struggling against better quality. Time to drop Davis. Ramirez needs to stop falling over. Shane Long showed how mobile you need to be. Rickie & JayRod should take a note. JayRod showed a good turn of pace. Defence is just rubbish! At least we kept 2 up for their corners & broke a couple of times very well. Garza needs to come off his line & claim the ball. He's 6ft 5in for Christ sake. When we sign 3 new defenders can we also get some pace please. Not good, but better than Leeds & West Ham!!

In the home end as a Baggie supporting client is taking me.............................He has just told me that we have not won their since 1984!!..............................................Draw would not be terrible, but a win would be perfect. Deep inside me I have a real sense of loyalty toward Adkins, but this season in just a few short weeks he as looked way out of his depth. The tactics, the formation, the transfers,the substitutions, the interviews etc etc............ I dont know if or who is interfering. I have never met Les Read or Nicola Cortese, but I know from years of experience that something is just not right at the club. The body language is a real give away................ Something needs to change. After last night I think it has to be Adkins (and probably Read), but without knowing for sure who is doing what to whom I lack conviction. The result last night was/is not important. The performance was shockingly bad. Adkins rightly takes responsibility. I just wish Adkins would change the tactics & formation & give us a chance in the way he did last year!!!!

It was 4-5-1.........................................Wigan changed to 4-4-2. We did not adapt & looked rubbish. The amount of people (me included) on here who argue about the formation set u simply proves to me that we have changed too much too soon!!! We all got 4-4-2. The Southampton way is to go out & score goals. We have always conceded loads, but we have attacking players who know how to score. This season we appear to have given that up. Last year we went at teams, attacked them. Used the wings. This year we seem to have forgotten all that. When Adkins says we had 3 attacking players on last night he tries to justify his selection, but forgets that they are playing out of position. Its the switch from a system that was working with some in built flxibility to a system that clearly is not without any explanation or justification. Yep all the big teams play some kind of fluid 4-5-1, 4-3-3 formation (actually Man Utd often play 4-4-2) But we are not Barcelona & the idea that we can go from a League 1 club to a Chamions League iutfit in a little over 13 months is plain stupid. Some of us have been following for a long time & can see that there is something seriously wrong at Saints at the moment. We have seen it before. The change from last year is quite remarkable!!
