If you look at their squad you think they should be top half. I looked at heir bench today & it's full of Internationals. I can see Pullis leaving at the end of the season.

Saints 2 Reading 0 - Post Match Reactions
corky morris replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Watched online when we were up in Orlando. Looked nervous for the initial period, but you could guess Reading would tire. Just about to go out for some fresh sea food now we are at Anna Marie Island & the 3 lads are decked out in Saints shirts! I know it's a bit Chavy, but I can let the lads indulge a bit!! Excellent result. What it does show is that Adkins was wrong to leave Jay Rod on the wing! -
Summer signings, which positions ?
corky morris replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
A pacey winger, a top quality centre half & full back cover. -
Get the **** in!!! Very happy here in Orlando. Screams making the neighbouring pool owners stare at us!! Might go & get another beer.......

He has the pace we need. Yes please.

The point you need to remember is the link betweeen Interest Rates & bond duration. In its very simplist terms if you have a bond that has a duration of 7 years (ie the date it matures) & interest rates go up 1% you are looking at a 7% capital loss. Most bond funds at the moment have pulled their duartion right down to about 4 years which will give you a bit more protection. So you need to take a view on interest rates before buying bond funds. Equities are expensive, but offer a decent yield anywhere between 3 & 4%. Long term they make sense, but you could consider drip feeding into them. My suggestion with £100k is to see a private client stockbroker. Brewin Dolphin in Lymington are a decent bunch, but there are others - Investec in Bournemouth, Rathbone in Winchester, Charles Stanley in Southampton. They can balance out your portfolio by blending bonds, equities, cash, property & maybe some multi asset funds.

I would take DiSanto in a heart beat. Let Mayuka, Guly & DeRidder leave.
-
Was totally wrong before the game as I thought we would get beat, how wrong was I! Excellent performance by all of them! Only small annoyance was leaving no one up at their corners. It just allows them to bung everyone in our half. Pointless.

Leaving in half an hour. Woke up with a really bad feeling about today. Not normally so negative. Think we will lose 3-0. Really hope I am wrong.............

Yep.

Norwich City 0-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

Clyne took the ball at SMS & that was shown on tv at the time. Shaw clearly had his shirt pulled prior to the penalty being given. In the Reading Villa game Pearce clearly had hold of Benteke's shirt & nothing was given & there are many many other examples............. -

And that completely ignores the penalties we should have had at Citeh, Newcastle & about 5 other places this year. The so called best ref's in the league (Webb & Clattenburg) have ref's 7 of oour games this year & we aint won one of them!!!! All of them have had contentious decisions go against us. And for those asking where Puncheon was - he was probably left out for being total poop last week against QPR!! A point gained! -
He got rid of it today for some sort of trench coat. Not a good look Rich. He needs a simple 3/4 Cashmere coat from a decent tailor!!!
-
The best way to have dealt with Redknapp was to ignore him. Thought the fans (& I was one) were at their worst for some time today.
-
Agree with this.

Just back. Today was just crap!! All we sang about was Redknapp. How does that help the team?? I have read others comments on players. Agree with some, but not with others. Lots of people saying how well Cork played. I though Morgan was better & the only player on the park to be able to hold his head up afterwards. That was the worst Clyne & Puncheon have played all season. Yoshida had an absolute mare. I knowyou cant say a bad word about Lambert, but that was the easist 90 minutes Samba has ever had. Some of that was down to our players not helping him, but thought he was terrible today. Lallana seamed to stop rather than run with the ball. Cork was 2nd best to Morgan IMHO, but never looked comfortable when he had the ball looking to attack. Jay Rod did well when he came on. Fonte looked rusty. Did we actually win a header off Bothroyd? Webb has ref'd us 3 times this year & we lost all of the games. He wont give us a decision when it matters. QPR out bullied us all over the park. Got away with sme bad tackles too. Mbia could easily have been sent off. If Newcastle got a penalty last week it could be argued we should of had one ths week. Thought MP made mistakes. Leaving Puncheon on & taking off Ramirez. Not pushing Jay Rod up alongside Rickie when we went 2-1 down. Get on Samba's shoulder & get behind him. Not just lump it up. Last 6 minutes was a joke. Whenever the boot is on the other foot we always struggle yet never look like scoring. Can we get some pace in the side too please. It was the best way to break down 10 men behind the ball. QPR beat us 3-0 years ago at Loftus Road & I thought we were going down. Man City beat us at The Dell & I thought we were going down. On neither occasion did we. Personally dont care if we do. May sound defeatest, but the PL is not the best thing in the world IMHO. I look at QPR & all the mercenaries & I just want to watch park football or my lads having a kick about. We were as bad today as we were good against Citeh!!!

I will never pay anything for the rag that is The Sun. I am no Scouse lover, but the way they treated those Liverpool fans after Hillsborough was an utter disgrace.
-
Where's Weston??? And a few others. Anyone who has played football at any kind of standard could see just how good he is/was. The boy has beeen top class for years. I have a lotof clients in Manc & told them just how good he is. A lot of them now reckon he WILL be the one to replace Carrick. I would say he is a better player than him NOW, but then i have never really rated Carrick.

I know VFTT will remember this, but the only bands I want to see at SMS are like the ones we saw one dark night at Highfield Road Coventry. At half time The Selector, The Beat & Bad Manners entertained us with a few of the old clasic ska songs from the early 80's. That was top notch!! Other than that you can f... right off!! That drum at Wigan was a f...... right pain!!

Debt funding is exactly that - DEBT!! The money will have to be secured on something & the yield (interest costs) will not be cheap!!! Fully funded.............................my house is fully funded. It includes the amount of equity i have in it & a mortgage.....................................................debt being part of the funding!! This just keeps getting better!!

Wigan 2-2 SAINTS /// Post-Match Reactions
corky morris replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Just got in. We were poor first half. Just as against Man Utd both Puncheon & Ramirez were poor. How Ramirez missed the target we will never know when it was easier to score. If you look at their goal Yoshida lost Caldwell. Very very poor marking. BUT if Puncheon had shot or passed the ball on the edge of their box just seconds before they would have neve countered. Second half we were all over them. Morgans goal was justified & he was MOM for me. Another corner & another goal for them...................................something to work on i think. Special last mention for the referee........................what a ****!!!!! If Maloney fell over - free kick. If we get kicked - nothing. Complete tosser. A woman behind me said that we had never won when he was reffereeing us. Is that true??? -
I think we will stay up, but it has got harder. I never thought Newcastle would go down anyway, but without doubt QPR have strengthened. Saying that Samba was part of a Blackburn team that were going down all season, but from what i have seen he is an excellnt centre back. I thought Norwich & West Ham cold drop from mid table, but they have strengthened. Wigan have a track record of staying up & getting points when they need to. Reading have improved. Villa have not. Fulham have strengthened too. MP has us playing 4-2-3-1. When you look at what we have I feel confident we can get the points. It was interesting to see him rotating Lambert, Ramirez & Jay Rod from either the wing, just behind or as central striker. Thats probably why he will like Guly. Puncheon may well struggle in that environment. Lallana coped well with it. Its different than the 4-5-1 NA was playing early season too. What i do think we need is pace. We lack it IMHO. I originally wanted a winger, but not sure thats what MP will want. Fingers crossed!!
-
Have to say I thought he was poor tonight. Far too light weight in my opinion. I texted VFTT at half time & said we should take him & Puncheon off as they were both very poor. He is without doubt a quality footballer, but needs to muscle up a bit for the PL.
