  1. Just been told he has been offered the job if he wants it....................................... Not prepared to say who source is so believe it if you want, don't if you want, just sharing.
  2. Just had an update from Stoke. Hughes has a house/apartment in London & would work from there. Lost the dressing room in the summer as Stoke created a transfer committee & signed players he didn't necessarily want. Man management skills also questioned. Doesn't feel like a good fit to me.
  3. Don't doubt that some of the players already have moves agreed for the summer................
  4. If its a no lose gamble then Johnson at Bristol City or Hurst at Shrewsbury would be my choice. Keep them employed relegation or not. Then let them build for the future. Whatever happens, it is my view we need quite a big clear out in the summer. Ive seen Hughes a number of times at Mottram Hall where he plays golf. Nobody there has a good word for him. Rude, arrogant & generally unpleasant. He used to annoy the hell out of me in his post match interviews too. It was always somebody elses fault. Never his responsibility. As has been said before, weve left it very late, we should have fired MP earlier. That would have given us more choice.
  5. Know a bit about Hughes as my lads were at the academy & know plenty of Stoke fans. I'm not sure it will be him. His record of promoting youth is very very poor. No players came through the ranks at Stoke when he was there. He also has a thing for playing players out of position. Forwards as full backs, full backs as midfielders. Stoke fans were desperate for him to go & believe the new manager has improved them. Also still lives in the North West & he won't want to move. Delighted Pellegrino has gone, but very concerned we will end up with the QPR Hughes...........
  6. About time. Silva for me please.
  7. One win in sixteen, none at home in eight. Utter shambles top to bottom.
  8. It has to be time to drop Tadic. He has been awful for a long time. Romeu should be replaced by Hojberg too.
  9. You mean "Pudding" Mcdougal........
  10. A draw in spite of the managers ineptitude!!
  11. Personally would drop Tadic & play Boufal, but I would also go 3 at the back McCarthey Stephens - Hoedt - Bertrand Soares - Lemina - Hojberg - McQueen Boufal Guido - Gabbiadini Not a cat in hells chance him doing it though....
  12. Has to go. Boards intransigence & ineptitude currently is truly astonishing. Some say he should have gone after Leicester, all the signs were there after Wolves!! Awful manager, terrible tactics, lunacy from Reed, Krueger & Gao....
  13. Gutless............... Tadic was utterly appalling. Its like playing with 11. Boufal was rubbish too when he came on. Hoedt shocking for first goal. Would rather see Sims in the starting line up. Hojberg as a no 10?? Really?? Slow, pedestrian, risk free ******** football. Second half was as bad as ever. The manager is clueless!
  14. Enjoyed the pre March tribute to Cyrile Regis. It's heartening to think that my 11 year old has no comprehension of what Cyrile & other black players went through. However small that is some kind of progress. To the game. Before we scored we were rubbish. Romeu was having a mare, Tadic was as useless as ever. The save McCarthey made from the free kick was excellent & kept us in the game. Two excellent goals from Saints gave us the lead. Thought Foster could have done better with JWP's free kick. Carrillo did well, mobile, strong & good in the air. First touch needs work. Two centre halves need to learn to be more dominant in the air. We look vulnerable to strong centre forwards. Oliver gave plenty of free kicks against us, not sure many of them were. A win is a wonderful!
  15. The 2 youngest & I will be there later to watch Sturridge score against us........ Any manager with a brain knows just how predictable we are so can't see a win or even a draw especially when the clueless manager plays 4 central midfielders. 3-5-2 for me. McCarthy Stephens-Hoedt-Berty Cedric-Romeu-Holgberg-McQueen Boufal Carillo-Gabiaddini Bench - Forster, Yoshi, JWP, Lemina, Long, Sims, Jones
  16. That starting 11 was a total shambles. Complete ineptitude from the whole management of Southampton Football Club. No wins in 12, none, zilch, nada, bugger all...................................& he is still in a job!!!
  17. That starting 11 was a total shambles. Complete ineptitude from the whole management of Southampton Football Club. No wins in 12, none, zilch, nada, bugger all...................................& he is still in a job!!!
  18. Over hit passes, slowed game down, mis placed passes, needless fouls, fell over, painfully slow...........enough?? Would rather have Sims in the side.
  19. No doubt, that is an excellent point & a good performance. We still went too deep towards the end of the game & Tadic was awful. Could have won, could have lost so a draw seems fair. Rather Sam Gallagher was coming off the bench though...........
  20. £20m is a lot for an injury record like his..........................£30m is madness!! Unfortunately £100k pw is the going rate for a player like him. I cant see us paying it though.
  21. A number of West Ham fans I know think he is stealing a living. Not sure I want another one of those. Also funny how they don't have enough defenders & Fonte still doesn't get a game..............
  22. I would play him as the left wing back & have a back 3 of Bertrand, Hoedt & Chambers. Bertrand did well there under Koeman. Thought he was excellent at Old Trafford.
  23. Very very poor, again! MP simply has to go..........
  24. Excellent team performance today. Hojberg outstanding, absolutely fantastic. JWP, Stephens & McQueen great too. Rags are poor. Not sure why we would want Shaw back.......... One swallow does not a summer make, but well done Saints today. Well worth the trip.
