  1. I don't rate him. How about 'cheerio, cheerio, cheerio....' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Arsenal now in for Fonte? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I don't think Puel is any good. Simple. I don't think he will survive beyond Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I fully agree. Puel has one plan and it's not working. Not impressed with him frankly. We have failed to replace Pelle, Wanyama and Mané. We are in a very worrying place, very worrying place. I thought we looked shaky on Saturday. Very shaky. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Made me think whether our Boardroom and owners philosophy was right watching this game. Soul destroying to see Mane smashing in such a great goal too. Gutted we can't keep our best players - we'd be unstoppable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I agree with the sentiment - we are building a team around him and Redmond is very mediocre. A real sign of how poor he was is how the website has come out supporting him today. OK good to boost his confidence after a shocking first half debut. But who are they trying to kid? Les - he's no Mane. Get over it and get spending - we couldn't beat one of the worst teams in the league at home when they were unfit, hot, knackered and down to 10 men yesterday. Saints aren't kidding me... Redmond is mid range - Les has properly screwed this preseason. We are not good. Oh and our new manager? Early days but very little communication with the players - or tactics. Is Les Reid forcing him to build everything around Redmond??? Does he have his own ideas? I don't know if things will improve.... this time.... But I sense a slaughter at Old Trafford. 7. Totally agree - he is JWPs replacement Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. We still need a quality midfielder for Wanyama, replacement for Mané and a striker for Pelle. Our new 23 has replaced Ward-Prowse. Yoshida is no Fonte and almost cost us the game (as he always does) yesterday. So our new defender should be regarded as a replacement for Yoshida.... But he is clearly not up to it yet or he'd have played yesterday. So, the last thing we need is Fonte to leave now. We have not used our £, replaced our mediocre like for like. Our manager has one plan (but it is early days) and that plan is not working. One goal a game plan. Oh and Redmond. No Mane, a good replacement for ???? He's no Mane, huge gulf in class, he's no Classie or Reid (no robustness and weaker passer, little defending skills). I notice the website is full of false praise for him - YOU CANT BUILD A TEAM AROUND HIM. We need to KEEP FONTE urgently. WE NEED TO BUY A STRONG MIDFIELDER (Romeu isn't) WE NEED A STRONG TARGET MAN STRIKER (Austin looked clueless) WE NEED A ROBUST ATTACKING MIDFIELDER WE NEED PROVEN QUALITY. BUT BY GOD WE NEED TO KEEP OUR DEFENCE!!!!!!!! Fonte is Southampton - Redmond is mediocre. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. After today's game against Watford, a new manager who has one plan that doesn't seem to work, a failure to replace Mané, Wanyama and Pelle..... I'm going for 15th. Not going to be good - give the ball away too easily and we have hugely reduced the quality of the team - today was poor. This season without 3 high quality players by the end of the transfer window.... Not going to be pretty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. She needs to start investing in the club instead of pocketing transfer profits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I can't help but assume Manure will slaughter us after today's performance. We are x3 good players down. Not replaced our talent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. We need some reinforcements. Where are they? Lot of money going into the bank accounts of our owner people. Not much spent. No quality replacements for Pelle, Mané or Wanyama yet. Redmond is no striker, or Mane I'm afraid. New managers start last weekend shows lots of pressing high tempo play but no clinical striker or target man. We looked cobbled together rather than drilled. I'm more concerned this year than the last 3 years.... I think we could do a Swansea. Too much reliance on kids in the early season will make this a bottom half finish season Possibly. Unless the owner spends the money (frankly ££ from the last 3 seasons we have had, let alone this one!) I'm also not yet convinced by our managerial choice. So, here we go. No spending, unproven manager, kids, Les' choice of bargain basement players rather than our managers - here we go again. Should be a top 4 finish!!!! COYR! INVEST OR FALL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'm interested in what you regard as progress next season? Do tell? I'm not happy entering any competition to do anything other than win it, but I've traded down. So make your pitch for what success will look like next season to demonstrate progress. I'm interested what people think. If ambition is low then = less money needed or reinforcement. I want to win the league and Europa Cup personally. But as long as I can see progress towards that goal then I'm happy to acknowledge that the new manager has been supported enough this Summer by a club with (from what seems likely) the most amount of money in the bank than it's ever had in its history. So come on ... Set the clubs aim for the rest of us in your eyes... From there we can discuss constructively how much we need to give the manager compared to our rivals and whom to replace, where to reinforce and how to 'March on'. So what's your aim for 2016/17?
  14. The key questions are: How much money has he got to reinforce the squad? Should be more than any other year we've know. Who can he attract? What are his objectives? Last 4 UEFA, top 5 PL? Nothing else would be progress would it? Who is providing him with his PL depth of advice? Squad, form, tactics etc That will be key. Where's his coaching team? Aston Villa failures are not exactly inspiring. Hopefully he's making some assessments rapidly during training and being backed. With Koeman still here we probably only needed 2-3 high quality players to kick on IMHO, we were rocking and for the first time in PL history that I can remember very strong at the end of the season. Now? Two high quality players out and more to go - one mid range youngster with potential in. ...and we need another keeper. Going to be interesting..... But key debate is how much money do we think he should have?
  15. Blame it on the Boardroom

    Me too.
  17. Has anyone worked out how much money our new manager has to spend (Prem money alone was massive this year) plus Wanyama plus Mané)??? We must have £150-200m in the bank surely for transfers? £10m for NR... How much should we be expecting to spend? How much extra reinforcement do we need for Europa League and to move up a place this year. Just trying to work out how much our new manager should be given by Les R. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Andros Townson to Palarse - lol We got a manager before Les could strike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. So we are signing Les Reeds long wanted player without even consulting with whoever our new manager is? Seriously? Is this the reason we lost Koeman and Potty Chinos? Reeds luck will run out this summer IMHO. Wanyama gone, Koemans gone... The mystery of our boardrooms inability to maintain a team top to bottom may be starting to become clearer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Only one explanation of our loss of two quality managers in 3 years- Boardroom incompetence and lack of owner ambition. It's a myth we are well run. Our Boardroom have got lucky. And that luck MAY be about to burst. Next question- who will follow Koeman out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Could be right St Chalet - you might be right. Does seem odd - unless our ambition and Boardroom really are that bad.... And let's face it last two summers have hardly been glorious from that perspective. God I hope he stays Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I'm guessing the Board will do something like get Benitez and two Les players called Redmond and Townsend. Then it will become clear Koeman has no control over player purchases. We'll see what happens. But we won't keep progressing after summer meltdowns - Les has got lucky so fat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. If he goes it's due to lack of ambition by own Boardroom. Summer meltdown 3. Still we'll get a better manager.... Errrr not. Failure to back our manager. Board won't survive if Koeman leaves. Saints fans have had enough of Summer meltdowns due to lack of ambition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. It's on the back page of The Daily Mail - Koeman to Everton. Phew.... Thank god for that. It's not happening. Phew! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Koeman does not deny anything and doesn't say he's staying at the ongoing press conference for the Palace game. Normal sort of play - I am manager for one more year on my contract and next week there is a chance to discuss future before I go on holiday. So - when the board fail to make funds available and announce which of the best players are off in the summer (an undeniable proven track record since & including PottyChino leaving) we should worry. But of course the Board are going to job on to our best players and give Koeman a significant fighting fund to push on into the Champions a league next season aren't they? All eyes on Les, Mizz Liebherr and Ralf next week. Time to invest. Time to show ambition. Time to build. Time to secure our excellent management team. Most important week in Southamptons recent history might be next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
