  1. Apparently Inters Schelotto is 'not prepared to listen to Southampton's offer' as he's 'not impressed with their project'. According to his agent (Ezequiel Carpeggiani). Read in to that what you will.
  2. You do indeed. We need a keeper, love him to bits as a character, but Boruc is a little too unreliable for me - and his distribution is poor; he gives the ball away at least 5-6 times a game, usually by kicking it straight out. Good to compete for the spot, so I hope we keep Boruc and offload Gazzaniga.
  3. I remain convinced we need x2 CBs.
  4. He seems a far better prospect than Taider though. I like Cork, strange decision if he's not being given a new contract. Krueger is probably saving his contract announcement up for a good news story that will end up with Jay Rod saying his mind is not in the right place...
  5. I think he could do it. But I don't think he should. Partly for the reasons you've given. Steve Davies - quiet professional and great player. The only reasons for not giving it to Davies for me would be if Koeman doesn't think he's going to be a regular starter or Davies has said he doesn't want the responsibility.
  6. If I was Spurs and Potty Chino I would be grinning after this. Almost too easy for them. I've no doubts Schneiderlin is off. I have no doubts that his mind has been poisoned by the others going and no doubt his meeting(s) with MoPo have helped screw his head up. Levy and MoPo will be laughing- knowing full well that Saints will crack and let him go at the end of the window for a bargain price. I hope we sell to a foreign club rather than Spurs.
  7. Steven Davies is the most logical choice for me. He's one professional player, gives everything and has history as Rangers captain. What's more he's kept quiet and loyal all summer. He's a better player than Fonte for me, so would be leading by example on the pitch.
  8. To be honest a 3 year contract for Fonte is good news but not anything like the super positives that Krueger hinted at for this week. Clearly we can expect players in, but Schnederlin is not now going to be ready for Liverpool (& is unlikely to feature for us again)and Koeman is clearly frustrated. I'd say that - apart from Koemans refreshing honesty - that goes down as more of a PR negative than positive. Happy for Fonte though.
  9. Just watched it again. Wasn't a very positive conference despite Fontes news. Did it get cut short? Seems to end very quickly.
  10. Me too. I think you have to add MoPo's influence into his state of mind too though. Only way he seems to be able to afford him is if he keeps him sulking.
  11. That makes a little more sense, but why would we want either Holtby or Chiriches?
  12. £10m?! Blimey, MoPo must have placed a lot of sweetly mice in his head to encourage him to 'strike' for that!
  13. Phew! Now we need to just buy a leader to stand next to him.
  14. Yes - 3 more years. He's now seemingly one of our finest players.
  15. He will never play for Saints again, it's been painfully obvious for a couple of weeks. If Koeman has been unable to turn his mind, what hope is there? Krueger?! Can't put a glass half full on Scheiderlin I'm afraid, he's burnt his bridges. Jay Rod next player to 'strike' ?? Bit tricky when you're broken, but until he renews his contract it would seem he's the next to join the exodus. Too little steel too late. Oh well, at least we have another Centre Back!! yipppeeeee!
  16. As opposed to liabilities. Whichever way you look at it, £14m in liabilities when you have £72m in assets is affordable. But I suspect foxstone's post is the most plausible; a ruse to continue tough negotiations.
  17. Does anyone think the Forster deal will fall through now? I think he'll still come.
  18. Come on faraways they've got the LED lights right and everything!
  19. Lol, no. Just trying to understand how this may be working in order to make a judgement on our Boardrooms effectiveness. So, it's good when posters inform, but somewhat grating when others ridicule from the sidelines - especially when their own posts are far from intellectual excellence.
  20. Sounds perfectly plausible. Would be interesting to gain a feel of how our payments have been staged.
  21. Good point - I hadn't considered that, but then again even if our fees are staged it's still all held in assets, so for the sake of securing a key player it seems strange that we are doing the same.
  22. I can understand why we would want value for money, but staged payments?? Makes no sense, unless there really are no plans to spend 'every penny from player sales' as the owner/boardroom have other plans for it. Looking dodgier by the day.
  23. "Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho confirmed on Thursday that bids had been received for Rojo but he didn't elaborate any further, he's probably not able to at this stage. Southampton have even asked for staged payment, which Sporting are fully against. €4m in one payment is a disappointment, in several it becomes farcical from their perspective." Thought this was interesting, just found a new article on Rojo. Staged payment when we have £92m before tax to spend? Krueger has some explaining to do. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/third-party-owners-brought-into-southampton-deal-it-s-not-over-ye
