I'm beginning to think that JP might just be a genious. Bring it on... let's prepare to be entertained!

First post match reaction just received from eelpie... 'The kids just grew up.'

PLEASE SAINTS PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!!! Come on you Red Nippas!!!

Let's fill SMS! Roll on the takeover!!! Goodbye Rupert! Optimism will reign thereafter
-
An important point. The fact that this thread has been read 27000 odd times demonstrates one thing to me... Fans are very keen to see a takeover. A buyout and takeover is the only real optimism tablet left for supporters since Lowe's return. I still do not believe we will see our team stay in this league - exciting passing football we may have but we do not have a team that will win enough games in this league to survive. We have a lightwieght bunch of teenagers that are easy to beat with a strong, disciplined side who are prepared to pace out a game and absord a pacey 1st half, adjust and then play physically against our light kids. And guess what - most teams in the CCC have the ability to do that... all they need is professionalism, ably demonstrated by a patient Birmingham City. Professional teams win games in football in the 2nd half. Their managers sit back and attempt to walk into the half time chat on terms or at least a goal or two ahead, but the former is the most likely, especially against a new side like Saints. So read nothing into first half performances. Watch the progression of a game and the change after half time to understand the quality of a professional team. Watch how a patient, professional team assess and adjust their game plan to beat us this season. JP has his work cut out to instill that sort of professionalism and whole-picture thinking into our kids, as it comes with experience. Lowe's plan may work in 2-3 years if he can keep the team together and we can tolerate the prospect of relegation whilst our nippas mature in League 1. Perhaps thats Lowe's plan? But people have to realise his role is to ensure the future of Southampton Leisure Holdings plc. NOT SFC. If and when the big clubs come knocking for our talented youth he WILL sell them. He has to without investment or a takeover injecting finance, so when you think logically through our predicament the 1st team is more likely that not to continue to be eroded and fall under this plan. We simply must be taken over sooner rather than later. I think that we all know this and we all sense that optimism can only really return once we have seen the back of Lowe, his plc and the introduction of a cash injection to allow us to keep our youngsters yet buy some good old CCC bruisers to give us a chance to get out of this League the right way - upwards and not gradually downwards. So, The fact that so many of us are reading this thread makes me think that we all need the optimism of takeover and removal of Lowe. Fulthorpe and/ or others who will take over this Club give us a genuine piece of optimism. I love the passing football, I love the potential of our young men... but I know they will ultimately fail against professional bruisers in this league led by astute traditional British game experienced managers. Do not read too much into a win over a poor, disorganised Derby side.
-
I think the whole thing has been planned all along anyway. Fulthorpe and Shearer will be here once the clear out has been completed. The pause in the takeover is possibly a delay to secure more finances along with the consortium. One win is good and promising - but against a disorganised and poor Derby team nothing to be getting too excited about. Any decent team with discipline and muscle will beat our kids I'm afraid. What's more this win will not bring back the fans in droves either... Lowe's presence unfortunately IS having a negative effect on the fan base. WHEN he goes people's optimism will return faster than a scrappy victory over a poor Derby side. That is when the fans will return. So, I think Lowe is doing the dirty job of culling the club post Burley of the big wage earners and buying time for the consortium to finalise more investment prior to Lowe and probably Wilde's removal. I also think JP will stay under Shearer as 1st team coach. We must not get carried away with a win over a poor side like Derby who are clearly having problems of their own at present and what's more to suggest we shouldnt accept a takeover of this club with a potentially decent manager like Shearer as well as financial backing that will take the Club upwards is barking in my mind. Takeover please. AND FAST. Lack of confidence in Lowe from the supporting - fickle - majority who are staying away is the key indicator of the failure of Lowe's reemergence... well that and the simple fact that even if this plan starts to work Lowe will have to sell the better kids to finance another year of plc survival. So, forget this daft notion that Lowe has got it right because we win one game against a poor side. The facts are clear to me. This Club is going down or at best nowhere whilst Lowe presides over plc before Club. So, either Lowe is only her temporarily anyway and clearing out the deadwood until investment (takeover prefered) inevitably happens and Lowe is once more removed or we continue to slide. We will be relegated this season if we allow Lowe to continue this experiment in plc survival. WE MUST NOW TAKE THE FIRST TAKEOVER OPTION WE CAN - and Fulthorpe's consortium sounds very promising. Goodbye Rupert.

Phew... well done McGoldrick. We're Derby really that bad though???
-
... or are we keeping him because we now have the cash as at last we're about to be taken over?
-
Right .... bugger this protest against Lowe, I'm going. I can't resist it. And, the team need all the support they can get if we're going to give Fulthorpe - and most importantly Shearer - the chance to surivive in this league once they are able to take over. COYR!
-
Simple fact that Stern is our most ecperienced and best striker. WE MUST NOT SELL HIM if we are to stand a slight chance at staying in this league.
-
Prediction: I bloody end up going... ... because even though I have said I am boycotting as I can't stand the fact that the club is STILL dieing under Rupert Lowe and the plc and I've said I'll never go again... I can't fekking resist the temptation to support the team. Curiosity killed the cat and all that? ! Oh god. Score....? Brummies 3 (SKP hattrick) and Saints 1 (McGoldrick).
-
....says the biggest arse on the forum!
-
Shearer! SHEARER! SHEARER!
-
In a nutshell, without John coming on we'd potentially have crashed and burned like so many other CCC teams last night? mmmm..... time to rethink selling him Mr Lowe don't you think?
-
I think that is spot on. Lowe simply does not breed confidence.
-
Lowe's strategy? To be appointed as plc chairman in order to clear out the expensive under achievers and set up a very flimsy Dutch methodology of playing football with kids which will fail in the CCC, thus reducing shareholder, business and fan confidence. Net result - a fall in the share price (now down to an all time LOWe of 27p), no plc investment and fans voting with both their feet and best singing voices to see him removed. Benefits? Buys time to complete a consortium bid. Removes unwanted players. Maintains Wilde's influence whilst the blame falls square on the ever hated Lowe. Reduces the share price - making it even cheaper for a buy out. Removes manager who was OK but nothing special (NP) to make way for up and coming Alan Shearer. ...sounds interesting option dont you think. Especially given Lowe's absence from both games and Solent forum. Perhaps Lowe has indeed been stitched by Wilde afterall? Still, I suspect he'll get more for his shares than the ever reducing 27p market rate so he'll make only a small loss. So long Rupert.
-
Steve Grant will tell you there is absolutely no takeover - isn't that right Steve?
-
Draw 1-1
-
LOL. I think Derby are even more fresh faced and lacking in experience and team understanding than we are. A good sign. But, I think they'll be strong next season.
-
Oh chanting 'Shearer, Shearer, Shearer!' and purchasing my Season Tickets again is going to be sooooo good. Right Rupes, you've done OK thus far, now see it through, get your arse back from holiday and lets get this takeover completed rapido in order to give Alan the maximum chance to hit the play offs with some cash and renewed optimism!
-
Thanks Marco. Bring on Shearer!
