A scouser with closer links than Wilde!

You joke - but it was as risky as I have ever heard from MLT. Maybe Lowe will.
-
No - there was absolutely no mention of that being the reason I'm afraid. Just that all of the shareholders and boardroom before and since relegation have seemingly squandered alot of money and led us down... and are continuing to do so, thus ALL need to be removed and the club, which incidentally is well supported with Premiership infrastructure, needs a takeover... but from where? That is the key summary for me of MLTs words. The only hope is a takeover... now lets go find one instead of letting the Club continue to be eaten away.

LOL. Very good.

Phil Thompson on SSN 15 mins ago, with specific regard to the Southampton situation, just reminded us that the fans are all that matter. Got my vote.

Was Rupert Lowe set up by the remaining Shareholders?

Chaps.... was Rupert set up? -
Can someone summerise why Wotton has to leave? Thanks.
-
I agree - The Mail will be used by Lowe next week to defend his wonderful record and continue to blame the previous regime for the loss of funds etc. This is the predictable start of it. Honestly you could write the script for these clowns... they are so predictable. Still - I hope now that MLT has come off the fence on SSN (more than I would have expected) that between Lawrie, MLT and perhaps a sensible fan we might start to challenge the shareholders and hound them out for good. Keep up the good media work chaps!

MLT also said we're a Premiership Club in waiting with infractructure etc but a poor squad likely to lose the better youth players in the coming weeks. He also said only hope was for a takeover but where it would come from is unknown.

Was Rupert Lowe set up by the remaining Shareholders?
SaintRobbie replied to SaintRobbie's topic in The Saints
MLT summed up the blame game 5 mins ago on SSN. He was right - it was the fault of each of the boards. What intrigued me though was how he hinted that the mismanagement of funds is all a bit of a mystery. Think the shareholders may be being visited by Hampshire Police sometime to explain themselves? Perhaps its all linked?? Anyway. All I wanted to know was whether people thought Lowe had been stitched up by possibly the Askham's of the world... those shareholders who stay in the background but vote him in. -
Great to see MLT coming off the fence and although not mentioning names summing up the ineptitude of the boardroom so well and saying all need to be removed from the club. Surprised to be honest - MLT is usually much more reserved. 'Only hope is a takeover'. I agree Matt. So, lets go and find one TOGETHER.

Matt seemed to be hinting that the loss of the club finances is near to criminal neglect! Certainly that it is inexplicable how so much money could go missing. I think the Hampshire Constabulary may be interested in examining our shareholders finances after that!

Was Rupert Lowe set up by the remaining Shareholders?
SaintRobbie replied to SaintRobbie's topic in The Saints
Just to clarify...My assumption was that the Club was destined for a difficult season. Not that Lowe would guarantee bankrupting the club by bringing him back to do Dutch 'Total' Football with youth. They may have believed he could save the club. I just find that a little difficult to believe. If so, did they set him up? -
Serious question. No agenda this time, just interested in your views. I posted a similar idea back in the summer as it struck me that Lowe was a dead cert for failure then, given the certainty of a poor season ahead and his previous history. It made sense to me then that a scapegoat/fall guy needed to be put into place by the principal shareholders to take the blame for failure. Given Lowe's recent election result (95% of the vote to stay in), despite leading arguably the least successful plc in the leisure industry and the criticism already underway from fans, media and legends, seems rather strange to me. I wonder if those Lowe views as allies are not just using him? Perhaps thats why Mrs Lowe was also anti his appointment? Is Lowe being used as a fall guy by his 'friends'?
-
Agree. I think the scoreline will look like so many in the CCC this year. Flattering as the opposition have already done the job they set out to do.
-
Stelling in the Sun today and I paraphrase: 'Saints have headed SOUTH for so long now, last time they played Man Utd they lost 4-0 and had Keving Philips and Crouch in the team. Now they have a team of kids.' National Media... watch them now have a huge go at Lowe.
-
Can I ask someone with a betting mind to please tell me...? How much would I need to place on a bet in Ladbrookes tomorrow to gain the price of my ticket back when I bet on a Man Utd win? Ta.... that's using Man Utd as a realistic opportunity!

I just hope it is inadvertently put onto the main screens again... just to see the crowds reaction....again.

Dear Sir Clive Woodward, May I please test your Sports Psychologist/expert advice very briefly. I believe we retained our ability to contact you over such issues when you left us. Is it OK (ie will it not have an impact on the team) for the strategic leadership of the Club to have a picture of a train from our nearest relegation rivals on the boardroom wall in lieu of one of the greatest winning moments inthe history of this once great club? Would it have any impact on the psychology of the leadership of the club and morale of fans and former legends to know that a relegation rival has potentially already scored a massive early hit in the battle for survival (probably inadvertently) by presenting it? If so, do you think it should be removed or should the leadership of the club continue to demonstrate their arrogance and pigheadedness by keeping it in place and saying such things in The Sun newpaper as 'I dont see that this is an issue.' Many Thanks, St Robbie. PS given recent results I'm sure the eye gym is broken.. can you come and fix it. Thank you.

We are currently buying third rate players if any players at all. There is a way. We put a team together to sell the Club. I have described my idea numerous times. It requires a unified approach that goes out to find an owner and promote the club. If it fails it goes out again... and again and again. Its constructive, unifying and with media & council support is a viable alternative to doing nothing.

But you acknowledge he is an ex-PRO. By implication therefore knows a little of what he's talking about? Good enough for me.

He's a Skate plant - always has been.

If this is true... Crouch would HAVE to honour it. Otherwise he'd look a fool. Nice one Leon! I dont want you anywhere near running the club and would like you to delist it please... but for Ted Bates Statue, this gesture et al... Respect.
