First thing I've got wrong about this whole saga since last summer. Apologies to the Northam. The corner has been turned... and its now going to really get unpleasant at SMS.
-
There is only one thing to look forward to - or else we continue the spiral to League 2... Takeover and delisting of the plc.
-
The spuds are being a little harsh on him. Lets face it the reason they have lost so many was down to having a ****e manager who ripped out their team spirit. Harry - despite his record here - isnt a ****e manager. Bale is a bloody good player.
-
Right... sod it. This is a relegation 6 pointer. I'm going to support the team... but if JP has the kids roll over again and hasnt prepared them for the importance of this game then I will protest my head off. COYR!
-
As I say - I dont want Crouch running it - I want to see him driving for a buyer. I want to see him get off his arse and sell this club - and I believe he's the only man, who as a genuine fan, has the credibility and passion to find someone else to run the Club. Anyone But Lowe provided us with the chance of the SISU deal and possibly Chris Coleman.... would you rather be in Coventry's position right now or Saints? Lowe is a drain on this club - both psychologically and financially. He has continually proven that he doesnt understand the fundamentals of running a Football Club - merely a plc business. He is the WRONG man for so many reasons. He MUST go and MUST take the remaining shareholders with him. Crouch is our best interim hope of staying in this League IMHO. At least if he stood up and said we havent got any money and we need to all do our bit to support our team people would believe him. Lowe is shot. Is mistrusted. Is a failure. Lowe is hated by too many and will never be forgiven for putting us in this position in the first place.
-
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Lowe's defeatist atitude has permeated down to the fans and ripped out their passion - given current evidence. Those of us going today expect defeat. The Northam has lost its heart. Until it regains it the ground will fill with bruised and battered diehards who have given up. Sorry state of affairs at SMS... still if we go 2 up... we might see a different story!
-
I sort of agree. But he is a fan, wears his heart on his sleeve and cares passionately about Southampton Football Club rather than SLH plc. So he gets my vote above the other idiots in the boardroom, because I think if anyone Crouch is the most likely to get off his arse and find a buyer with the club's interests at heart. I'd take Crouch back above Lowe right now... a couple of heartfelt pleas from him and some sensible ticketting ideas would have many many fans coming back to help us through this relegation battle that are staying away due to Lowe.
-
Bugga this. I was going to stay away until Lowe leaves once and for all... but this is a vital 6 pointer that might - just might - keep us up. Its a vital game this. I'm going to add my support during the game. COYR! ...but I so hope for a change in leadership at this club soon. And if the boys play like kids again as they did against Manure, I will add my voice to the protests at the end.

Only a rumour, but it would be nice...........

Where's this yacht parked? Have to say this is almost as daft to hope for as Lowe getting us promoted this year... but if we all had any get up and go we'd probably be targetting people like this with a sales team and saying 'what about it oh Mr Oracle!?' But, we seem more set to follow Lowe dooooooooooooooooooooooon. -
Donny have won the boardroom psychological battle with the erection of the train picture. They are comfortable with their manager and team and are fighting to survive in the league and are under less pressure of expectation. We a led by muppets, have our senior players queing up to leave, uncertainty in leadership, low turnout and nervous kids at home who cant produce a win. errrrr... heart = please win 3-0! head = Loss 2-1 to Donny. (MOTM Davies for a string of spectacular saves)

When I held an ST - before Lowe's return - I said frequently that I didnt give a **** whether people were given cheap tickets on the door, as long as it filled the ground thus providing support and atmosphere. Lowe has never grasped the intangibles of football club management. It is more akin to watching a London Show in the West End... you're happy to pay full price early to secure a decent seat but if the theatre is empty the show has less atmosphere and is less entertaining. When you add the need to support a team on top of that, to act like a 12th man for a result, it becomes even more important. So even as a ST holder I used to say DROP THE PRICE ON THE DAY TO FILL THE GROUND. But, as many people are either boycotting because of the crap team we have, crap manager, crap boardroom with the perception that we are destined for relegation, it may not make as much of an impact until there is a change in leadership in the club anyway. Ticketting policy changes may make a small impact. Its a results driven business, isnt it Mr Lowe ,and under Lowe results at home are shockingly poor. Get rid of him and introduce a ticketting policy - you then have the chance of significant success in bringing in support and making some money.

There's a rumour on 606 that the sports editor of The Echo has been sacked over revealing the plaers wages story. Probably rubbish.. but hey ho.

God I hope we see the end of Lowe and this criminal mismanagement of our club soon. Roll on the takeover... but please make it soon to give the new manager a chance in Jan to buy some men and get us out of this relegation certainty. -
minus 1. Boycotting.
-
We're 'richer' than the Skates. Form your own conclusions from that.
-
We need a statue right now of MLT in my opinion. It needs to be put slightly back from Ted Bates, slightly smaller - eg a bust - and be next to the players entrance so they pass it every game. It should have LOYALTY enscribed on the plinth.

How would this side have faired in the prem?
SaintRobbie replied to Frank's cousin's topic in The Saints
Depends on the manager's reaction and anyway - he'd have built upon this team by buying players so it is irrelevant somewhat. However, entertaining your thesis for a minute, it would probably be relegated. Just as the team the WGS had in place before he left would eventually have been relegated IMHO... and indeed effectively was. WGS walked as he knew the team was destined to fall. I remember well that warning when we looked high in the table the Xmas before he left - 'This team is not good enough'. How people laughed at WGS riding high on the top of the table, but he was subtlely warning Lowe to invest or face a falling team as publically as he could. How they laughed at his comment and put it down to a Strachanism. He then left. And the rest is history. Had a 'bad knee' and had promised his wife he'd only do a couple of years. Then went went back into management. So... depends on whether WGS felt that he could reinforce your team or not FC. Answer, with Lowe ... no, WGS would walk and your team above would relegate. -
I think Fitzhugh has reminded us that this Club IS still great. I think people who seemed resigned to our downfall and are content to follow a man as divisive and arrogant as Lowe in the folly he has presented and spun as a last chance to avoid administration are niave in the extreme. I think people who forget that this is a football club - or at least was once - and are content to support a failed public limited company forget the essence of what a football team really is and represents. Duncan's sticky on the golden years reminds us of what we were until recently coming under the control of the plc and it divisive leadership. It reminds us that it was not long ago. It reminds us that with change we do not have to roll over and accept Lowe's plc survival plan. I'm sorry, but this club IS great. It represents Southampton and is the pride of every Saints fan who walks into work and defends his or her club against others mocking. It will be great again, it can be sold. Sadoldgit means well, but accepting this new Lowe-ism is going to save the club and that we are a nothing club anymore is frankly suicide. It is certainly no way to run a competitive - success craving bunch of sporting athletes... and in that vain you sadoldgot whether you like it or not appear to me to be drawing from Lowe's leadership. It is not inevitable that this club will not be great again. It is not over. All we need to do is SELL the club. Now, some may be incipid and defeatist and say, 'but there's a credit crunch' or 'who'd want to buy this crap?' ... I say lots of people and what's more I say; 'Has anyone bothered to try and FIND a buyer since Hone and Hoos (who were successful in finding SISU)?' Answer - no. Now - we can die and accept Lowe's here to stay and lead the club further SOUTH or we can seak a buyer. My message - form a sales team - MLT, Lawrie, Legends (the great irrelevants according to sadoldgit!!), Crouch, Wilde, Steve Grant, Illingworth, Chorley, Duncan, Southampton City Council, Local MP,... frankly I dont care... but form a diverse sales team with ONE aim... SELLING THE CLUB. And if it falls through first time - keep searching and keep searching. We CAN be back in the Premiership in 2-3 years. We need desire and passion back in this Club not a bunch of defeated Lowe-bashed fans who are content with their lot. No wonder our team has the winning mentality of the Italian Army. ******** - DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE. STOP ROLLING OVER. Get Lowe out and get a new owner - GET ONE.
-
Rudi and Euell... the men all want to leave Lowe's failing army and are telling the world how bad it is. Not good.

That would be a 'mustard' appointment for Norwich! ... I'll get my coat....

is lowe waiting for the transfer window to close...
SaintRobbie replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
I think this time Lowe CANT sack the coach - as it is Lowe's appointment and Lowe's alone. If JP fails - and he HAS - Lowe fails. Lowe wont sack JP. -
I'd honestly take any of them above JP! Jewell , Pardew or Boothroyd please!

Would you BOYCOTT? Ways to get rid of Lowe and the board
SaintRobbie replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
75% of fans would be prepared to boycott in some capacity or boo Lowe during a game. Quite overwhelming that Sundance. Minority of fans want Lowe out? You're avin a giraffe me ol ****er. -
David McGoldrick - one of the top 50 rising stars?
SaintRobbie replied to SaintDonkey's topic in The Saints
