Wish there was a Sky red button that turned off Gary Neville's commentary.

Right now I'd rather have Lambert than Pelle. Reason? New formation requires a striker who can hold a ball and then pass it. Pelle is useless at taking down, holding and passing a ball. Lambert is a master at it.

We are stronger in the 2nd half.... Could be a good afternoon.

I just think that Lambert on OUR bench would be better than Lambert on Liverpools. He's a legend here. Nothing to lose. None would expect him to score often or play a full game, but by god the roof would come off at St Mary's when he scored once again. (& he's better than Mayuka...fact)

Totally agree. There are loads of reasons to allow Rickie back, but for me we need a striker. Simple. We need competition for Pelle. If he was available the impact on the fans for morale would also be brilliant. The impact on the players who know him would also be great...the grass is not always greener. Rickie couldn't do a thing wrong here. He'd play his heart out, he'd be loved and he'd regain his striking confidence immediately. Finally, it would be the greatest final chapter of his playing career. He would finish as a legend.... not as a criticised nobody in Liverpool. The Boardroom should go all out to bring him back HOME.

We need a striker. But would he want to come back and try again? And more importantly would the team (particularly Fonte) want him back? I suspect the answer to both questions is 'no'.

Yes - I agree 100%. We have needed a quality striker since the summer as a back up and competition for Pelle/Jay Rod. Mayuka needs offloading too, as fast as possible.

Anyone noticed that FIFA15 crowd support is as quiet as ours was on Boxing Day!? Never seem to sing OWTSGMI on my FIFA15 game. Northam need to correct this perception with a stunning singing display against Arsenal!!

Hoping for a good result. But, keep losing 0-1 on *FIFA15!!! (Mind you Morgan is playing and Bertrand hasn't been put back in the squad!!) * My last results on FIFA were 1-1 Villa, 1-0 Sheff Utd win, 1-0 loss against Burnley, 3-1 Saints win against Palarse and 0-0 against Chelski!! I guess the Chelsea result shows how inaccurate my theory is though

Good stuff, no finger nails left at the end though! Love seeing Mane playing in more of a striking role in the centre, he's clearly more at home up front and enjoys it more. Elia on the wing will give us better options for Mane. Once again my MOTM, Mane. He will carve Arsenals shaking Defence up into pieces.

On the one hand I love him on the other hand I wish Rickie Lambert was still here instead. Frustrating player, but then he delivers! One aspect of his game that is poor is his initial control, and if I was Koeman all I'd do in training with him is make him receive high balls and hold them up. His first touch (if it's not on his chest) is generally disappointing - especially when he's needed to hold up the ball. He needs to work on that, I lost count how often he failed to take control of the ball against Chelsea. It's a skill Jay Rod has in spades and something Fonte does so well too. Pelle needs some training on how to take a ball. .... Oh and at least make an effort for some of the headers! Still, he's a bloody good player overall though.

Great to see Mane being used to play off the striker. It's what he did last season so successfully. When we get another winger and use mane up front we will have a super striking option.

Looks a good signing to replace Mane at the Africa Cup o' Nations. Question will be whether Koeman can tame him and whether he's prepared to fight for a place (and of course not fight Fonte!) The new Oswaldo? I doubt it... international pedigree, speed and experience. A good signing and statement of intent methinks. Regardless, we now have an impact sub (be it Tadic, Mane or Elia)..... but we still need a clinical striker this January.

Yes - so when we sell him we'll get more money. Plenty of better CBs out there. Not a long term prospect for me despite his last performance. Lacks composure when tired and hoofs it too much. Too often the weak link in the team.
