  1. Don't want to go to Duckie's ale house if they sit around talking about dead sportsmen`s dicks. 😁😁
  2. Apparently last year 40 Britons went to die at Dignitas in Switzerland. Only 20 of these would have been covered by the proposals contained in the proposed legislation. If the proposed legislation was to be passed, I am sure that there would be immediate calls for it to be widened to include other people - such as the other 20 who would have missed out.
  3. In countries such as Canada, where assisted dying is allowed, the scope of the legislation has been widened since its first introduction to include people without terminal illnesses. Disabled people and older people now come under its remit. Proponents of assisted dying say that would never happen here, there would be safeguards, we wouldn't allow it, blah blah blah. They said that in Canada as well. There is an interesting documentary on bbc iplayer by the disabled actress Liz Carr (silent witness) which covers this angle. Well worth watching (despite Lighthouse' s opinion) if you want more information.
  4. A pity that you didn't have a sufficiently open mind to watch the whole documentary . Clearly you have never been close enough to disabled people to understand their way of thinking.
  5. Its not nonsense and your insistence that it is demonstrates an inability on your behalf to fully comprehend the issues around this highly contentious issue. I am surprised as you normally come over as being sensible and open minded.
  6. I wouldn't be so sure. This Collin Rugg that you are quoting seems to be a Trump apologist. In other Twitter posts that he makes he refers to TV presenters being "far left". Far left?? A presenter on American mainline TV?? Do us a favour. I bet he believes that Kamala is a Marxist. When people succumbed to heat at Tim Walz's rally, he stopped speaking, arranged for them to to be treated but then carried on. No cancellation of the event . No swaying to music. No Dad dancing. Trump's cognitive ability must be questioned. He is the oldest Presidential candidate ever and his refusal to release his medical records makes me doubt his mental state.
  7. The bloke is losing it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/14/trump-music-sways-town-hall/ There must be serious doubts about his mental ability.
  8. He is not going to last the next 4.5 years of this government. He will have worn himself out with anti Labour exhaustion long before then. 😁😁😁
  9. How can JRM reform the Tories whrn he doesn't believe in computers??
  10. No Duckie. You are pretty unique. There are very few like you around. 😁😁😁
  11. Yeah. Bloody Disraeli and his idea of One Nation Tories. Pinko. Not a true Conservative.
  12. Perhap's this eplains a lot of Batman's issues. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/oct/04/royal-navy-chief-apologises-for-intolerable-misogyny-in-submarine-service?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  13. Just when you thought that the Tories were going to have a grown up for a leader..... Mind you if Cleverley supporters were really that cack handed it is perhaps a good job that he hasn't gone through to the members vote. Has any politician ever been as misnamed as Cleverley??
  14. We will just have to agree to disagree. One man's strawman is another man's cogent argument. Just try to approach this subject with an open mind. It is highly complex and is not as straightforward as you originally set out.
  15. "Hysterical scare mongering. " Please watch that programme and appreciate that it is not hysterical scare mongering for many people.
  16. Hypo covers many of her points in his excellent post above. I come from it from the angle of protecting the rights of disabled people. This is one of the main features of the programme - summed up in its title. My first wife became severely disabled and lived for many years with MS before she died. She used to worry that a euthanasia bill could lead to disabled people becoming regarded as second class citizens. Liz Carr illustrates this fear very well. I fully appreciate that there are sensible arguments why assisted suicide should be allowed. It is a highly complex subject. I am just surprised that you, who normally acts as the voice of reason on this forum, cannot see the problems with assisted suicide.
  17. You say that you did not watch the documentary but you know that it is horse shit. Hmmm. The subject is more complicated than you are making out. Watch that documentary and you will appreciate that point.
  18. Have a look at the documentary done by the actress Liz Carr "Better off dead". Its on BBC iplayer. It certainly makes you think.
  19. Thanks for the compliment. I retired 7 years ago when I was still in my 50s. I am probably older than you. Older in body but younger in mind. 😁😁😁
  20. The gammon on the forum are going to have to be careful. There are many years left in this Parliament. If they don't calm down they are going to explode with rage well before the next election. To quote them "Suck it up snowflakes". There ain't nothing you can do. 😁😁😁
  21. Things may be bad for us atm but at least Pompey are doing their best to make us feel better . The men 's team lost 6 1 yesterday and the women' s team lost 6 1. Nice.
  22. 6 now !!
  23. You missed out corrupt.
  24. Surely if it is an open secret amongst journalists it would have come out during the General Election. The Tories would have clung to it like a drowning man clinging to a lifebelt in their desperation to slur Starmer. Remember how Currygate was the main headline in the Mail for day after day when there was nothing in that story. They would have issued commemorative booklets if they had a decent story on Starmer. Or maybe it isn't as devastating as Oakeshott makes out and heaven forbid, she is telling porkies.
  25. I don't think that even Duckie thinks that Farage won the General election. Trump's lack of knowledge is truly staggering. https://www.gbnews.com/politics/trump-farage-won-general-election-fantastic-person
